Weed'em & Reap and other garden thingsPosted Sunday, June 5, 2011, at 8:39 PM
Weed'em & Reap garden club meets this coming Friday June 10th at the New Century Chinese Restaurant at 510 Madison Street.
Meeting starts at 7:00 PM in the back party room. We should wrap up around 8:30 and everyone is welcome.
This is our last meeting before we shift into Summer mode which is once a month, so don't let it slip your mind.
On side notes, has anyone ever moved a LARGE high-bush blueberry plant? I would guess the bush is 8-10 feet in diameter. What size root ball would need to be dug with it?
I believe two of my gardens are going to be retired to permanent perennial fruit beds. When the garlic, potatoes and beets come out of there. Blueberries, and raspberries, maybe boysenberry and I may move one of my fig trees there as well.
I am babying the few catnip we found. I thought sure we would get some rain today, but so much for watching the forecast. In fact, I need to leave for a moment to put some water on another one found a few hours ago.
Did you miss me? Mission accomplished. Big Boy and PITA supervised and I seemed to pass their inspection.
Speaking of missing someone, it has been a few weeks since Miss Sophie had to leave us and I still find myself checking her bed as I get up from my desk She was such a constant companion, it just does not seem right.
Oh well, no more reminiscing.
