If you saw my previous post and picture, our figs were bursting open and looking like a "jaws" movie. Well, they have settled down and ripening nicely now.
Now we are able to eat them fresh off the bush and it reminds me why we enjoy them so much. Debbi has some whipped cream handy so I could not help but put a dollop of cream on each one just before the big moment. Yummmmm.
If Deb's mother could grow everything hydroponically, I believe she could be a true gardener. She loves saving seeds of just about everything we eat (that has seeds) and planting them somewhere.
We had watermelon and squash coming up in assorted pots and now she is nurturing several avocado plants. I continuously find peach and plum seeds drying and we (Deb & I) quietly help them disappear. Growing an orange tree inside might be a neat winter project though.
