A magazine called Garden & Gun ?? What is that all about?Posted Friday, September 23, 2011, at 8:46 AM
Your first thought might be, "well that sounds like a perfect magazine for good old boys and girls" LOL.
Well guess what? It IS written for folks in the South! I had never heard of it until a trade newsletter mentioned that the 4 year old magazine was putting out the "Largest Advertising Issue Ever"!
In today's environment and the internet supposedly making print obsolete, that is a breath of fresh Southern air.
But Garden & Gun? Yup, and while in the first two issues I perused I did not see guns mentioned, it did mention fishing, gardens, highlighted Southern towns and cities, reviewed some books, fashion, movies, music, dogs and tongue in cheek humor, articles and cartoons that can't help but bring a smile.
Here is a link to show the current month's articles. http://gardenandgun.com/magazine (not an affiliate link, by the way) I particularly enjoyed the article on "whisper" fishing and the some of the garden article. In July they highlighted the heirloom "Cherokee" tomato. Sound interesting Cheroke2 ?
Sounds like one both sexes could enjoy while learning something about interests for the other side.
