Sharing the same space on a rainy afternoon, cat and deerPosted Thursday, December 22, 2011, at 3:21 PM
Pepperz and deer get up close and personal. (Debbi's photo)
The deer graze our lawn all the time now and seem quite comfortable close to the house. We can often come out and they will just watch us to determine out intent.
Of course, if it were to put them on the table, it would be too late to react, but if or when that ever occurred, I would not shoot them from the house. This is a "safe zone".
As I have mentioned before, the deal is that they stay out of our garden and the rest is theirs. In the 17+ years we have been here, we have had no deer damage, even when I see footprints in the dirt.
They must have just been admiring my gardening style (mess).
