Sharing the same space on a rainy afternoon, cat and deer

We have our bird feeders about 30 feet from our patio door and one of our cats Pepperz was using our home-made squirrel spoiler as protection from the rain. They coexisted with no apparent concerns, just curiosity.

The deer graze our lawn all the time now and seem quite comfortable close to the house. We can often come out and they will just watch us to determine out intent.

Of course, if it were to put them on the table, it would be too late to react, but if or when that ever occurred, I would not shoot them from the house. This is a "safe zone".

As I have mentioned before, the deal is that they stay out of our garden and the rest is theirs. In the 17+ years we have been here, we have had no deer damage, even when I see footprints in the dirt.

They must have just been admiring my gardening style (mess).

So, my green thumb is itching! I have 8 2-litre bottles of winter sow already in the back yard. (saved half of each seed pack in case of winter-sown failure, lol)

When is the first W.E.A.R meeting of 2012? Would the club be interested in helping Eakin Elementary with a student garden club project? I've already spoken to Dr. Bennett, she loves the idea.

Guess we will see each other after the new year "season" starts.

That flowering tobacco you gave me two seasons ago is still flowering in the greenhouse, but for some reason PITA is hell bent for leather to destroy it.

She can not seem to leave it alone and tips the pot over almost every other day. I wonder if the flower smell irritates her?

She has a powerful sense of smell and maybe that is just too much.
