Think you have unfiltered access to the World Wide Web? Maybe you do or maybe you don't.

Melissa sent me a link to an interesting video clip about different search engines customizing your web surfing results.

I have noticed that when I search while traveling, local restaurants magically appear and that was not disturbing since I figured the web knows what ISP I am using at the moment, but it goes much deeper.

I do regular maintenance that clears out cookies and web browsing history, temp files, etc. but if you don't, your profile keeps building and the search engines keep filtering. I am probably missing something as well.

Watch this video for thought provoking info on how and what search algorithms can do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOE1HFEL8...

Hmmm, Al Gore / al-gor-ythms? Nah, couldn't be. They came along before Al. :-D
