Finally, eBay may be about to release old eBay I..D.s that have not been used for a long time.Posted Sunday, February 5, 2012, at 10:00 PM
I know it is coincidence but I was just having this conversation with eBay about 10 days ago on behalf of a commercial client.
The first level was adamant that this would not happen and the second level of management apparently was not aware either. They explained that there might be a wide number of reasons why the I.D.s would be released but this particular one had not been used since 2002 and I thought it would be nice if they started releasing them.
Like I said, I am SURE it was coincidence, but the bottom line is, if you have been wanting a certain I.D. for some time, check back every 30 days to see if your luck has changed. They say notice will be going out with a 30 day window for folks to "reclaim" their I.D.
We do not know when this might start, so checking once a month will be prudent.
