A good reason to check both sides of an eBay Trading Assistant relationship.

A mother and son were arrested recently for stealing from a chain of toy stores and reselling on eBay. Another person was named in this article, but she may not have known the items were stolen since I did not see that she was arrested as well. http://www.ecommercebytes.com/cab/abn/y1...

Or, that may come later so know that your customer has the right to sell the product before you jump in. Ever see some get rich offers where you sell product for someone else? Too good to be true?

But speaking of being a Trading Assistant, I received yet another inquiry from a person in the Lynchburg area who would like us to sell her collectibles, but we just do not have the time.

I do not recommend one of my "Basics" students do this because they are still learning the ropes of eBay but if someone is a veteran seller and would like to register as a TA, go here. (no charge for doing this and I do not get anything from eBay) http://pages.ebay.com/tahub/index.html

I will consider passing your name on the the person and other persons who have contacted me in the past, but after you pass eBay's vetting, I will be doing the same. You will be coming from my referral and while it might not mean much to anyone else, it does to me, so.....

By the way, no fee for that either. If you are good to help, then that is all I need.

On another note, watch for announcements on eBay Global Shipping Program to facilitate cross border trade.

The Global Shipping Program is set to launch in September and will be operated by Pitney Bowes.

Details are still pretty sketchy but the basics so far is that if you sign up, you will send your product to a Pitney Bowes chosen exporter who will then ship, track and insure the product.

Currently any service that does that is cost prohibitive for us so we roll the dice and use First Class Mail International by the Post Office.

We'll have to wait and see what this new service costs before we jump on board.

There are other questions too, like how will it affect feedback, DSR's, returns etc., so time will tell.
