Year end ramblings, cats, smoothies, gardening and probably morePosted Sunday, December 30, 2012, at 8:46 PM
Pumpkin just finished "Cat in the Hat" but couldn't find a hat so....
While my smoothies continue, my weight loss has once again leveled off. I guess I will take comfort in the fact that weight has not been coming back on.
I made a particularly yummy smoothie this morning. It had so much in it that I really cannot say there was conscious thought going into it. Banana, fresh pineapple, frozen strawberries, oranges, apple, spinach, carrot, blueberries, pomegranate, cranberries and a handful of cashews. Of course, water and ice as well.
One of my New Year projects is to make a vermiculture (worm) bin to turn all my fruit and veggies cuttings from my smoothies into great fertilizer. Besides the worm castings (poop) there will also be a liquid fertilizer that can be diluted for our indoor plants now and our seedlings later on.
I'll take pictures and may bring the whole thing into one of our "show and tell" garden club meetings. I would like to keep it near the kitchen, but family peace will probably dictate it being kept in the attached greenhouse. It never goes below 50 degrees in there so all should work well.
I just have to keep PITA out of it, but she is getting better. Of course, I'll probably regret having jinxed it by saying that.
I am debating listing a few New Year's Resolutions here on the blog. The more public I make it, the more pressure to DO IT. However, I just realized that I did not start my new blogs like I said last year. They are not meant to take away from this one, but allow me to expand some topics. Ah well, we'll see.
