  • If there is anything more central to our confidence in our government than our ability to cast a secret ballot, I don't know what it is. Giving up our voter information/history to any federal administration is simply unacceptable.

  • It is all because Trump can not accept he lost the popular vote. When they get this information they will start purging AMERICANS for any excuse in time for 2018 election. It is called voter suppression.By refusing to let americans vote and preventing the media from doing their job we are on our way to dictatorship.

  • I wouldn't want the State to tell the Feds who I voted for either. But I also wouldn't want them to be able to tell that. So maybe the Feds need to investigate the State and find out why the State knows who we voted for. Questions for lbur. How long does a person need to be dead before they are disqualified from voting? Since when does making sure a person is alive or a citizen equate to voter suppression? As far as the media doing their job, last I looked, they were doing a bang-up job of covering themselves doing fake wrestling. If we are in a dictatorship, it is the best one ever. But don't worry, lbur. In 3 1/2 years you can try agaign to get hillary or burny in. Speaking of the poor socialist with the thieving wife, I'd bet he thinks there was some fraud in the last election.

  • REGISTERED DEAD PEOLPLE DON'T SHOW UP TO VOTE,I never meet one at the polling station.I don't know anybody that thinks of calling the voter register office to tell them grandma died and wont be voting.Thank you State of Tenn for refusing to comply with Trump. You don't need some ones voting preference, voter history since 2006,SS#,or birth date to find out anything pertaining to voting. The states can take care of this,Trump talks about state rights often.Showing up with a dead person's photo ID to vote in would get you jail time. There is no good reason for them to want this information.

Joke of the century"trump does not advocate violence".Then we see a fake video of him fake wrestling and punching someone in the face with a CNN head. His slogan is "knock the hell out of them".Words have consequences and if he continues to demonize the media this might not end well.It is the responsibility of the media to cover the president whether good or bad.

-- Posted by lets be real on Tue, Jul 4, 2017, at 12:06 AM
  • The media doesn't need any help. They do a fine job of demonizing themselves. Their job used to be to report the actual news. Nowadays it seems to be to ignore what is really happening so they can fixate on spreading lies. For months they were telling us all 17 intelligence agencies were convinced of Russian meddling. Finally, the AP comes clean about it just being a few. I never could understand why the Coast Guard would be involved. You better watch your step, lbur. If the dems find out you are talking about people actually identifying themselves at the voting booth, they might kick you out of the club. You see, they really don't want to stop dead people and foreigners from voting. Because they know the large majority of such illegally unethical people would be voting for the likes of hillary or burny. Speaking of the poor socialist with the thieving wife, for any of his supporters that are still feeling the burn, may I suggest a trip to your doctor for......nevermind.

  • Trump ignores what has happened with Russia in our election because he is fixated on tweeting insults to anyone who doesn't agree with him.Sarah Sanders stated he had no agenda on what he will say to Putin. He spends his time looking at TV and screaming at the screen.

It is now 40 states and counting refusing Trumps voter registeration information.Keep up the good work America.

  • Some how Trump missed the big black limo at the bottom of the plane stairs, wondered off and had to be directed back to it.SUNDOWNERS

-- Posted by lets be real on Tue, Jul 4, 2017, at 7:21 PM
  • The president of Poland had to promise Trump that he would bus in a cheering crowd. So Trump wanted a FAKE CROWD.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Jul 6, 2017, at 11:07 AM
  • And you know this from what source LBR?

-- Posted by stevemills on Thu, Jul 6, 2017, at 2:34 PM
  • Probably "anonymous".

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Jul 6, 2017, at 3:33 PM
  • I have always said that your vote does not count when it comes to voting for the POTUS. I think Trump and also Hillary proved that I was right.

The elector votes are the only one they count, not the popular vote as Hillary and the Demons found out.

The Demons are doing their best to keep Trump from making America Great again by doing what they do best, Hate Speech and insurrection against the USA. That is pure out right Treason!

The States have the names and address of the voters and how they voted, so what is the problem with telling the feds who you voted for. You afraid Hillary and the Clinton Foundation will assassinate you? Or the Gov will tell you friends, neighbors and family who you voted for?

They bring aliens into our country so fast that we don't even know who they are and the Demon party was registering them to vote before they knew anything about them.

And look what happened! They all turned on Hillary and voted for Trump. Wouldn't you like to know who those aliens were who voted for Trump?? We would never see who voted for who, only the gov would have that info.

    Here's what is happening!

The gov keeps letting immigrants come into our country. Our country is not like any other country. We the people are the sovereignty in this country, not the government nor the immigrants. Immigrants are only subjects of the federal gov with civil privileges, but not sovereign rights.

However they are given the privilege to vote in all our elections.

They don't know what this country is like and that the people are the sovereignty, so they are going to vote for the wrong things, out numbering the sovereign people's votes. The sovereign people will lose their voting power to control our government by the immigrants massive votes.

Look how they have used dead peoples votes and multi-voters votes to rig the elections. Now they only have to sway the immigrants to vote how they want them to.

Voting is a right for the sovereign people, but only a civil privilege for the immigrants (14th amendment citizens) and their descendants.

PS The gov has already invaded all your privacy, so what is a semi-private personal vote? You know, the one that doesn't count in this country!

  • *PSA* *PSA* *PSA*

This is a public service announcement for people who are still on the Russia collusion failed bandwagon and are too easily triggered--you know who you are. It is now time to pull up your Depends, heat up the hot chocolate, get your ativan out and open up the Play Dough. Later today Donald J Trump, your President and mine, is going to have his first meeting with Putin. (Or IS he?) It is going to be very private. But just sit back and relax, don't worry about it. Keep your minds occupied making crafts or something. Trump is in charge so it will be okay.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Jul 7, 2017, at 1:01 AM
  • Sui give me a good reason why they need to know your voting history for last 11 years. There is no wide spread voter fraud,it has been debunked even by republican congressman. And if anyone tells who you voted for or come after you it will be the Trump administration. It is now 45 states refusing his voter data, they can not all be wrong. If Trump worshippers go along with this is there no limit to what they will tolerate.

This is the first president to disrespect americans and it's own intelligence agency on foreign soil.He did not even know how many intelligence agencies we have.He did this while standing beside a Polish leader who bans free press.Congress would not have let Obama get away with half of what Trump has said and done.He has accomplished one thing, and that is getting some americans to only believe what he says and every thing else is fake news. This is coming from a man who believes the National Enquirer tabloid magazine.

He has ruined our standing in the world. His face today was priceless when the first lady of Poland refused his handshake. He got lost again in Poland yesterday.Sundowners.

-- Posted by lets be real on Fri, Jul 7, 2017, at 7:53 AM
  • Nothing new we all knew Trumps meeting would be private. When Obama met Putin the photo will be very different from Trumps.Obama had several people present but this will be a private love fest where no one can see the warm hugs and promises he gives Putin. He might allow Tillerson since they both have millions tied up in Russia. All Putin has to do is compliment him and he knows he can play him to give up anything, because he can not control his big cocky mouth.

-- Posted by lets be real on Fri, Jul 7, 2017, at 8:09 AM
  • Lbur, you really ought to get your news from a credible source. If the lame outlets you patronize bothered to run the clip a few more seconds, you would have seen she shook his hand and was smiling. Did Melania refuse to shake the Polish president's hand because she shook his wife's hand first? And if you have a dictionary, look up "sundowners" so you can start using it properly.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Jul 7, 2017, at 8:23 AM
  • LBR; I do not understand your preoccupation with hands. Who holds hands, who shakes hands... That is Jr High School stuff. (We are already getting enough of the president as the captain of a Jr High cheerleading squad).

The other thing, and I am only picking on you because I am already complaining, I see it enough from both sides, is the whole thing with; "If Obama hadda... the Republicans woulda." Obama, Bush, Clinton (either one), none of these people are president today. If partisans on either side want to feel aggrieved about past behaviors, more power to them. Being aggrieved over things that hypothetically might have happened today if situations were reversed is just a waste of time, and a valid argument over no point.

Lastly; Yes, Steve, they bused in a crowd to cheer for Trump. That is not scandalous and is not that unusual in a country like Poland. Eastern Europe has different traditions and expectations. I assume their "crowd" cheered for all the other world leaders, even Putin. If you had a crowd of ordinary Poles, Putin would have had to sneak in the back door. Trump, just by association would have been no better received.

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Jul 7, 2017, at 11:32 AM
  • Did anyone see Trump daydreaming at the summit today when everyone swerved in their chairs and Merkel had to tape him on the shoulder.Fair if he doesn't have sundowners he has early alzheimers. That would be an excuse for his uncontrollable lying, maybe he really can't remember. He was lost in Poland yesterday the day or two after he walked past his huge limo right in front of him and had to be directed to it.

I just thought the look on his face was funny when she walked right past his hand out and shook Melania's.After the look on his face she had to come back and shake it.Maybe all these people are thinking about what he said he likes to grab with his hands.ijs

-- Posted by lets be real on Fri, Jul 7, 2017, at 7:38 PM
  • Actually, sundowning is most common in the middle stages of Alzheimer's, not early. You would have known that if you looked it up, but who'd of thought? Anyway Trump has neither.

"Maybe all these people are thinking about what he said he likes to grab with his hands.ijs" lbur

Could this explain her preoccupation? Makes me shudder to contemplate.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Jul 7, 2017, at 10:44 PM
  • Fair did it make you shudder when you voted for him after hearing him say"Grab them by the p****"?Then nothing I quoted should make you shudder. He is the face of the republican party now.

Ivanka,an inexperienced shoe and purse seller, sit in at the summit for him instead of the National Security Advisor. If Chelsea or Michelle had done this they would have been thrown out of the white house.

Seems Putin stated that he told Trump he did not meddle in our election and he accepted, now whose lying?Since Trump is so concerned about voter fraud why does he not think this is serious?Since they are still doing it maybe he thinks it will help the repubs in the next elections.

-- Posted by lets be real on Sun, Jul 9, 2017, at 1:03 AM
  • Lbur, when I voted for Trump I didn't shudder. I have to admit, tho, that my hands were trembling a little. That was due to the adrenaline flowing and my excitement at doing my part to MAGA. Gotta wonder about your reading comprehension. I didn't say I shuddered at what you said or quoted. I said I shuddered while contemplating if you continuing to quote that explains your preoccupation with hands. Which could imply what you might be doing with yours. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It really isn't that hard. Enough about what goes on in the privacy of your home.

I'm sure the National Security Adviser knows a whole lot more about women's entrepreneurial issues than Ivanka does. (BTW lbur, this is sarcasm. Don't want to have to explain it to you later.) What is wrong with preparing her for the future? After all, it's only a matter of time before we have our first female president. And it ain't gonna be hillary.

I guess the dems wish Trump and Putin were still at the G20. "Yes you did", "No I didn't", "Yes you did".................

-- Posted by fair share on Sun, Jul 9, 2017, at 7:07 AM
  • Fair are you pleased that Trump is getting the man that hacked our election to help with a cyber security plan to stop election hacking. If Trump supporters think this is okay then they need to move to Russia. This is unamerican. How big a fool can Trump be.

-- Posted by lets be real on Sun, Jul 9, 2017, at 2:22 PM
  • Who do you think would know better how to stop it? And then there is the side benefit of p!ssing off liberals.

-- Posted by fair share on Sun, Jul 9, 2017, at 9:36 PM
  • I'm not really interested enough to waste my time watching FNN (Fake News Network), but if anyone notices them showing Trump "knocking the cover off the Marine at the helicopter", please let me know. I would waste my time watching that. Thanks.

-- Posted by fair share on Mon, Jul 10, 2017, at 6:09 AM
  • Now Trump is backtracking on the Cyber security plans. This is not a party issue, you don't put the fox in the hen house.I am sure dictator Putin would love for this fool to tell him all our cyber secrets.

If you do not watch fake news why do you watch only Faux and listen to Trump.

Seems Trump Jr lied again about his meeting with Russian lawyer.First he said it was about adopting Russian children. Then he tweeted that the woman pretended to have information on Hillary but did not produce. His last sentence in HIS tweet tells all why he went there.Fair do you think his tweets are fake news.I see that Trump worshippers pledge allegience to Trump and not the country even if it hurts america.

-- Posted by lets be real on Mon, Jul 10, 2017, at 10:37 AM
  • Who really believes that 3 top people in the Trump campaign met with a Russiam lawyer to discuss Russian adoptions? This is not fake news, they admitted this.If all these meetings with Russians are so innocent why all the lies?If all these people are having amnesia we need to question their ability to do their job. What is bad is they see nothing wrong with meeting with a Russian to get information on an election opponent. The walls are closing in on daddy bear and his babies. Now Jr has hired a lawyer after admitting he went to that meeting to get dirt on Hillary.Keep talking Jr and please keep tweeting Trump.

-- Posted by lets be real on Mon, Jul 10, 2017, at 8:16 PM
  • Waiting to see how the white house spin Trump Jr's own emails as "fake news".Also waiting to see how Trump worshippers spin this.Trump Jr's statement "I love it".Maybe this will wipe that smug grin off his face.

-- Posted by lets be real on Tue, Jul 11, 2017, at 1:55 PM
  • Wow! Over 24 hours with no blather about Russia. How refreshing. Guess that took up so much time and effort lately no one seemed to notice Kate's law was recently passed. Thank goodness there are still enough adults around to sometimes get something good done for the American people.

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Jul 12, 2017, at 4:30 PM
  • Jared Kushner will follow in his dad's footsteps, straight to prison.Waiting to see if dear old daddy-in-law will throw him under the bus.Trumps ring of fire is about to burn him and the source of all this was Jr Trump.Hard to spin this as fake news coming straight from the family.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Jul 13, 2017, at 9:18 AM
  • Poof. And just like that it's back to the samo, samo.

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Jul 13, 2017, at 11:59 AM
  • Trump thinks what his son did was okay because he says he got no information. So if you go to rob a bank and you get no money does that make you innocent? Then tell the world in France that americans would do what his son did, which is illegal.I do not think meddling in our election is a samo, samo. All of us should be concerned.Someone in the white house leaked Jr's emails to the NYT and that is the only reason he released them, not because he was being transparent,

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Jul 13, 2017, at 9:27 PM
  • I'm sorry, lbur. I forgot about your reading comprehension. The "samo, samo" I referred to was the left's constant spewing of Russia, Russia, Russia. But even in your miscomprehension you are wrong. The Russian interference in the 2016 election was the same old thing they have been doing to us and others for many years. I sure am glad you have the time and don't mind constantly monitoring the Collusion News Network and letting the rest of us know what is going on in the "real" world. Thanks.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Jul 14, 2017, at 6:18 AM
  • And I am sad that Trump worshippers live in a world of alternative news only from the white house.Another day and another lie from the Trumps.Seems Jr forgot to say anything about 2 other people attended the June meeting with the Russians.Republicans can no longer deny collusion since it is coming straight from the horses mouth,Jr.Fair name other presidential candidates that contacted Russia to get dirt on their opponents?

-- Posted by lets be real on Fri, Jul 14, 2017, at 9:38 AM
  • Does hillary and Ukraine count? I know you don't consider her selling Russia a bunch of uranium in return for a bunch of money "collusion", so I won't mention that.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Jul 14, 2017, at 11:19 AM
  • Is that all you got fair? No Hillary and Ukraine has nothing to do with presidential opponents going to foreigners to get help to win elections. Seems Kushner had to amend his security form 3 times since he forgot he had over 100 contacts with foreigners. Is something in the air at the white house that causing all this amnesia?

-- Posted by lets be real on Fri, Jul 14, 2017, at 12:29 PM
  • The Trump Crime family is turning the white house into their own criminal empire.Every day another shoe drops. When he said he would put people to work who knew it would be lawyers.More lies from Jr,who calls this a "nothing burger",this is a whopper. Now we learn there was maybe as many as 8 people in that June meeting. There is no such thing as a former Russian intelligence officer,as the white house says. You don't retire from Putin's circle.Trump's wall is coming down.

-- Posted by lets be real on Sat, Jul 15, 2017, at 12:10 AM
  • Sure was nice of Loretta Lynch to pull strings to get her onto the country bypassing normal procedures. And then let her overstay. Maybe there is some Russian collusion after all.

-- Posted by fair share on Sat, Jul 15, 2017, at 1:08 AM
  • DEFLECTING just like Trump

Bypassing the normal procedure and overstaying was what Melania did isn't it?

-- Posted by lets be real on Sat, Jul 15, 2017, at 4:14 PM
  • You saying she is another dem operative spying on and setting up Trump? How many more of them do you people have?

-- Posted by fair share on Sat, Jul 15, 2017, at 5:58 PM
  • Yeah, I didn't think the left would want to elaborate on their collusion with Russia to take down the legitimate government of the good old US of A.

-- Posted by fair share on Mon, Jul 17, 2017, at 3:53 AM
  • Waiting to see who the 8th person was in the room with Trump jr's June meeting with the Russians.Trumps lawyer stated "If these people they were meeting with was so bad why didn't the secret service bar them from the room".Problem is Jr did not have secret service at that time,so why would they even be there.Daddy Trump and Melania were the only ones with secret service protection at that time, ijs.

Who will the repub blame this time for failed Obamacare repeal? There should be no problem with a repub president, senate and house.Or maybe it has something to do with all those protesters(voters) showing up at their offices.Keep up the good work america.Another failure for Trump and a win for america.

The joke of the week,Trump touts made in America week. This hypocrite and his daughter make all their products in foreign countries.Ivanka has sweat shops abroad paying workers a $1 an hour, mostly women. So much for her fight for womens rights.

  • From a business perspective, companies I have worked for/with have spanned the globe and I cannot think of one time I asked them to explain their employee handbook, disclose benefit programs, work schedules, how their employees live, or how much they pay them.

In China we saw conditions that WE would not want, but the employees seemed content with the situation, but always looking for better. My interpreter is a prime example, whom I stay in touch with on a regular basis.

She makes just enough to get by, and getting by is s shared room with just enough space for a bed, chair and table. The bathroom is shared. NOT what I would want to experience so I asked her what were her chances of improving that.

She saw no reason for a bigger place. Her life is outside the home and in fact she has somehow saved enough money to help her brother buy a house since he is getting married. Gave her life savings to him, because he was her brother.

Again, not what I would have done considering how hard it was for her to save that, living on a shoestring, and knowing how much she wanted to travel abroad, but it is their reality and they seem to function well.

Growing up, I think we would have been considered poor considering four kids in the family and what our father was making at a machine shop, but my parents made it work and while I did not get some things I saw others getting, I did not feel poor. There were poorer folk, I know.

My point is that most of these people working for $1 per hour are making it work in their world and do not necessarily feel they are poor until WE convince them they are. We need to top judging other economies and looking down on them as they develop and grow their world around them.

-- Posted by stevemills on Tue, Jul 18, 2017, at 11:25 AM
  • Steve, I think it is our fault as a country for creating the climate where some people feel comfortable looking down their nose from atop their high horse at people who actually put in a full day's work for low pay and then have the gumption and internal wherewithal to make a livable life for themselves. When we pay people to sit in front of the big screen tv all night switching between 300 channels while munching Cheetos and washing them down with a 12 pack and periodically surfing the net on their new phone, they may feel superior to the "poor fool" who actually works and takes care of their own self, apparently not smart enough to live off of the government (read:taxpayer). After all, doesn't it take a village? Why would, and how could, anyone take care of themselves when the government can do a so much better job?

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Jul 18, 2017, at 10:16 PM
  • Seems Trump had another cozy private 1 hour meeting with Putin he forgot to disclose this.Only him,Putin and a russian interpreter,no american interpreter. For all Trump knows he could have sold him Alaska. This is very risky and having concerns for our allies.Probably wont be long before he gives them back the compounds in Maryland and be sitting in the oval office. They had an extended conversation not just a chat.We can not rely on what Trump said they discussed. This is not official U.S policy.

Trump lie"I have created 45,000 mining jobs",only the miners didn't know this. There was 800 jobs created since 2017 in mining that was in the works before he took office and these were in oil production. So naturally he takes credit for something else Obama did.

-- Posted by lets be real on Wed, Jul 19, 2017, at 2:15 PM
  • Lbur, unfortunately I actually understand how you might think b o is responsible for creating some mining jobs. And I think I might understand why you apparently think your and my president can't pursue foreign policy for the USA, which he was legitimately elected by the electorate, not to mention a fair number of illegals, to do. I have an extra copy of the US Constitution just laying around that I'm not currently using. Just let me know if you are interested---I'd be happy to let you use it for a while, or even have it if you'd like.

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Jul 19, 2017, at 7:36 PM
  • Trump met with Putin without a note taker or translator which is against U.S policy. But he says they only talked about "Pleasantries and adoption".So fair I think you need to give your copy to Trump.I don't believe Trump supporters will believe a lawyer,a spy,a mob boss and a money launderer had a meeting about adoption. Now he is trashing is own Attorney Gen for recusing himself and not protecting him and making sure that the hearings remain favorable to him.Looks like ole Beaureguard Sessions is on his way out.

Now Deutsche Bank may have to turn over Trumps finances even though he is warning Mueller about doing this. The only wall trump has built is a wall of shame. All of his dirt is about to be exposed.

-- Posted by lets be real on Wed, Jul 19, 2017, at 11:54 PM
  • Lbur, I'm sure Trump knows formulating and executing foreign policy is his job while Congress gets to approve treaties and SCOTUS gets to interpret treaties. No, he really doesn't need to read my copy of the US Constitution. But since you could stand a refresher, my offer still stands. It really isn't all that hard of a read.

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Jul 20, 2017, at 8:25 AM
  • Trump threw Sessions under the bus and talked about him really bad.Sessions has no spine and stood there today with that fake grin on his face looking foolish. Is Trump saying that if he knew Sessions was not going shut down the investigation he would have picked someone who would? That is mind blowing.

How can Trump say he talked to Putin about adoption and not mention the reason Putin stopped Americans from adopting Russian kids?

Fair you would have to read the constitution to Trump since he does not like to read.He does not even know basic history.

I also heard Trump say "we will hire americans".Today he hired 70 foreign workers at Mar-a-Largo.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Jul 20, 2017, at 7:51 PM
  • Spokesman for Trump legal team resigns.Panic is setting in in the white house.Trump says Mueller has contributed to the Dems, well so has he.He is trying to find dirt on Mueller so he can fire him.Seems Mueller has upset Trump about being able to probably get his tax returns.

Now it seems Trump is asking about the possibility of pardons for his aides, family and himself.Accepting a pardon is an admission of guilt. Why would you even think of pardons if you are innocent?

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Jul 20, 2017, at 10:17 PM
  • Another one bites the dust in the white house,Sean Spicer resigns He must have got feed up with lying for Trump. The rats are jumping ship.Only hear crickets from Trump supporters.Kasowitz and Carallo,Trump lawyers, have also jumped ship.Seems Trump listens to no one but Trump.A house divided will soon fall.

  • Lbur, your constant nay-saying really has gotten to be very tiresome. Enjoy your collusion delusion.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Jul 21, 2017, at 7:28 PM

  • Kushner has learned from daddy-in-law how to be a big liar. Why does he need to testify in a closed meeting and not under oath?Trump's sheep need to hear what he has to say, since they only believe what Faux reports. How can anyone forget 1 billion dollars in loans? Now it is up to 4 meetings with Russians he had.

-- Posted by lets be real on Mon, Jul 24, 2017, at 12:15 PM
  • Many of us did not want a "politician" in office this time. We got it, along with all the human frailties and unfiltered comments that most politicians have learned to keep to themselves.

The press LOVES to find fault and catch every little thing (and some here) because they just plain don't like the man. I would not want him as a best friend, or even close associate, but I would like to see what he can do without all the distractions.

The "political correct" crowd is still trying to stay relevant or be a "thorn under the saddle", but it sure is a shame that they cannot keep it to relevant and serious things. The EVERY DAY pick, pick, pick is not productive nor does it say much for them.

Oh well, such is our reality right now.

  • Steve reality needs to start in the white house. The distractions are coming from his many petty daily tweets which are not productive and sets the tone of the day.We pay him to golf at his own clubs that cost us more money. He spends more time watching TV than helping make good policies for america. Who needs that much vacation in 6 months. In 6 months he has signed nothing of substance. He does not even have the know how to help with providing healthcare for Americans.Say what you want about Obama and Obamacare but he did go out and try to sell his plan to America. The only time he goes out to the people is to have campaign rallies and how many days now it has been since he had a press conference. He will not face America and answer questions because he thinks no one has the right to question him on anything even when he is wrong. He works for us and live in the peoples house.

  • I don't know that Trump didn't actually get the popular vote as so many of the Democrat votes were from dead people, repeated votes, votes from illegals, and otherwise threatened.

However our system of voting is by the electoral college. Trump did win that.

Voters should have to show valid identification with ANY voting time, from any local ballot issue to President. Only citizens of the United States should be allowed to cast a vote---only one vote.

As far as this President is concerned, he was duly elected. It is time for the crybabies to suck it up, and let him get on with his job. The ones of us who suffered under the last one woke up every morning for eight years with trepidation, counting down the days till he was gone. And he is still doing everything he can to destroy our nation.

Let President Trump follow through with building up America.

Oh and leave his son alone. Children of Presidents are off limits. This includes Barron.

-- Posted by Oxirish on Wed, Jul 26, 2017, at 2:48 PM
  • I wish presidents children being off limits had worked for the Obama girls also. They were called all sorts of names.

Someone needs to tell Trump he won,so he can stop talking about it at every occasion.Seems him and his cabinet are turning on each other. He can't find an Attorney Gen that will protect and lie for him and gain control of the Russia investigation.

No one is stopping him from doing his job but himself. If he has nothing to worry about then sit back,do your job and let the investigation continue.

It is a shame for a president to disrespect any american soldier who are giving their life for this country. You can't say the same about draft dodging Trump or any one in his family. He didn't even have what it took to be a boyscout. This is a serious distraction for our soldiers overseas.Reports have already proven the medical cost for transgenders in armed forces are low.The pentagon is spending more on Viagra.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Jul 27, 2017, at 10:02 AM
  • Trump lied again when he said he consulted with his Generals and military officials about banning transgenders from the service.Top general states there will be no changes until they hear from Mattis. We will see if Mattis puts America first or Trump.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Jul 27, 2017, at 3:57 PM
  • I have got to tell you, Steve; I really don't get it. I mean, I understand not wanting a politician. But, why would you want a reality TV show host? What are these distractions that keep him from "doing his job?" Are the distractions anything but him? Is he distracted because there are unfavorable things written about him? Or is it a distraction because he is compelled to read and react to every single one? Can you recall *any* president in your lifetime who did not have unfavorable things written about them? Can you recall a single one who felt compelled to respond to any of the unfavorable press, much less all of it? Is it a distraction because his administration is in constant turmoil? Is it a distraction because he is constantly trashing his own administration? Who picked those people? Wasn't it him? What if your local high school football coach constantly attacked his own assistant coaches and players publicly? Who would you blame when his team performed poorly? Is it a distraction because a REPUBLICAN senate, and a REPUBLICAN house cannot pass the wonderful health care plan he promised to reveal "next week" so many times? Or is it a distraction because he has no "wonderful health care plan" and cannot lead his own party? Is it a distraction because he jumps from one thing to another, titillating his loyal followers with extreme statements off the top of his head, yet never has any plan going in, and never follows up with any real action. His Presidency so far has been one long rally for the 30% who would follow him anywhere (if he would only lead), with nothing of substance coming of it.

Now, I agree with you that the water is muddied by focus on so many "little" things. Who cares if Melania holds his hand, or he pushes someone aside to get in front of the camera? What difference does it really make if he confuses the Boy Scout's national jamboree with one of his rallies? Is it really more than just a little discomfiting that the world leaders he praises are all ruthless dictators who kill their political opponents, control the media, and rule over police states? Other than make us look like a banana republic, or a crime syndicate, is it that important that he has packed his team with relatives?

No. Let's focus on the big things. The elephant in the room is just how much does he owe Putin? I still follow the thinking that people with nothing to hide do not hide things. It is pretty obvious that Trump is hiding plenty, as he fights the investigation tooth and nail, using every power of his office that exists (or that he can imagine) to try and derail it. If that is another distraction, it is a distraction easily remedied. Cooperate, rather than let one lie after another get exposed. Of course, Donald Jr (not the sharpest knife in the drawer) has already let it out that Trumps campaign worked hand in glove with the Russians to get him elected. My gut feeling is that the impact of having a President beholden to a hostile foreign power is somewhat diminished by his character. Trump has always cheated everyone, and I am sure he will cheat Putin, too. The primary advantage to Russia is that we have an inept president, with a chaotic administration.

How about health care? Does even the most faithful Trump supporter still believe that his "wonderful, beautiful plan" that would insure "everyone", "cheaper"; the one he was going to "reveal next week," ever existed? If it did, he is guilty of gross malpractice by not revealing it, because the REPUBLICAN senate and the REPUBLICAN house are coughing up a hairball on this one. Whether we believe the government should have no role in medicine, or believe in total socialized medicine is unimportant. The one undeniable fact is that a REPUBLICAN congress is incapable of producing anything that they are willing to see become law. Where is our presidential leadership? It would appear to be nonexistent. The only thing we have seen is the curtain pulled back on all those Obamacare repeal votes over the last 7 years. As I suspected at the time, the only reason those measures passed was because congress was certain they would be vetoed. Now that they would have to live with the results of their work, suddenly nothing can pass. I might not agree with Obama's political philosophy, but I have to admit one thing. He did take the reigns and get something passed.

Other than the fruitless medical care debacle, what do we have? Infrastructure, nothing but an infrastructure week that produced nothing, Tax reform. Nothing. "Great" trade deals. Nothing. Job creation? Worse numbers than under Obama a year ago. What, exactly does this administration have to hang its hat on?

Even the police are not happy with his encouraging them to rough up people they arrest. He better hope they are kind to him when the paddy wagon comes to the white house and load up.

Mueller convenes grand jury in Russian probe, kind of unusual for fake news.At least some senators standing up for what is right and getting a bill to prevent Trump from firing Mueller.

He even lied about getting calls from the Head of the Boy Scouts.Since they take oaths of honor and truth I wonder how the scouts feel when they hear the president lie.

  • You are right Steve. They would be better off stopping what they are doing and be more like CCR. They ought to be looking out their back door. BA, you are also right. Trump is an anaerobe. He not only survives, but thrives, on low levels of oxygen (approval ratings). But in reality his ratings aren't accurate. They are only polling the tip of the iceberg. If people were really concerned about the rioting when he won a free and fair election, they better tighten up their seatbelts and make sure their airbags are in good working order if the Deep State gets very close to overturning the results of the election. To steal a quote from BTO, "you ain't seen nothin' yet".

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Aug 4, 2017, at 8:38 AM
  • And some people wouldn't recognize a train wreck, even when they see the engine fly off the tracks. What part of Trump's agenda have we seen move forward? His "wonderful" health care plan, the one that will insure everyone, cheaper, remains unrevealed. As a matter of fact, it looks like Obamacare will continue for the foreseeable future, although his efforts to cause it to fail might cost people healthcare; *if* he succeeds. We might build a small section of that wall, but we will be paying for it, not Mexico. His businesses, along with all the rest continue to export manufacturing to other countries. His two ballyhooed exceptions are the standard deal, where states pay out enormous "incentives" for every job. Having seen this from the inside, I can tell you that these deals are losers for the taxpayers. The only positives are either things over which the president has no control, or pre-existing positive trends which he has not screwed up... yet. Of course, now he has brought enthusiasm to his true believers with the new immigration bill... something else that is not likely to pass.

We do have his self professed deal making skills.... How many of those trade deals have we renegotiated? The Senate is now in open rebellion against his heavy handed attempts to control their agenda. How is that deal making going?

I have to admit, his whacked out tweets do thrill the hearts of his followers. Since the true believers like to see him create chaos, the self defeating tweets have not gotten old. Maybe they never will. But, they are counterproductive.

And speaking of chaos. Has any manager ever put together a worse "team?" The turnover is reminiscent of his halcyon days as a reality TV show host. We certainly got what we bargained for there. He runs such a tight ship that even Democrats have started to complain about the leaks coming out of his administration.

What we have is a President who specializes in social media bullying, blaming his failures on everyone but himself, and holding those goofy rallies where he can relive his election night one more time (like someone's crazy uncle with the story that he tells every time you see him)and elicit the praise he needs more than anything else, by pushing the same buttons over and over again. On the bright side; he is on pace to smash every record for vacationing and pleasure trips.

I figure it is no better than even bet that he finishes out his term. A lot of his behavior raises questions in my mind as to his mental stability. He could be pushed out by his own party on the grounds of mental incompetence. I think that would already be in process, if they were not afraid of losing his voting block. And now that Jr has let the cat out of the bag on collusion, the likelihood that he could be impeached is growing. It would take a lot for a president to be impeached by his own party, but we have never had a President this catastrophically bad before.

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Aug 4, 2017, at 10:35 AM
  • Of course we all know the Republican party is not really his. He took it over from the grassroots. And there are still plenty of obstructionist reps and senators that are anti-Trump and would rather see the country fail than see Trump succeed. Despite the republicans colluding will the dems to derail the Trump train, it's still running. It's just my opinion, but I think there are enough real Americans left that still care about this country and our citizens that the Deep State will be unsuccessful in their attempted coup.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Aug 4, 2017, at 11:18 AM
  • How many times did Trump call the unemployment rate and stock market numbers fake under Obama? Well now he is patting himself on the back about what he called fake news in the past.He was handed a pretty good economy from Obama and is still riding on his coattail, better than what Obama was handed from Bush.

Trump and his family will be screaming fake news all the way to jail.Trump could confess to treason and his 30% would still think he should remain president, most of them probably don't know what that means.

-- Posted by lets be real on Fri, Aug 4, 2017, at 3:57 PM

I do not believe Trump necessarily has a "Party". He is a more of a movement that cleverly ran on a Republican ticket.

You asked "what part of Trump's agenda have we seen move forward"? Laz, his agenda was to "Make America Great Again". That is the Train. That is the movement. The great conductor has you lefties tranquilized watching him shuffle the cars in and out of positions while the train roars forward.

Now he calls the white house a dump.I forget he is use to gold toilets while his poor supporters live from pay check to pay check.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Aug 4, 2017, at 9:15 PM
  • Well, Fare (pun intended); we are all "real" Americans. The real label does not just apply to people with one opinion. Maybe I am more of a real American than most, since my family was here in the 1680's, and have been a continuous string of US citizens since the country was founded. But, nah. We are all real Americans, each with a right to their own opinion. I don't have to agree with them, but they all have a right to their own opinion.

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Aug 4, 2017, at 9:24 PM
  • Trump can lie all he wants to his 30%,but he wont get by with lying to the FBI and the Grand Jury. He can not take his lawyer or family into the grand jury with him.We all know what a problem he has with telling the truth.Anybody who does not agree with everything Trump says or does is on the other side of the line.

The white house threatening journalists by dragging them in front of grand juries to give up their source or face jail time is a way of keeping what is going on in the white house from the people. This ain't going to work.

-- Posted by lets be real on Sat, Aug 5, 2017, at 12:28 AM
  • Sorry Laz. I was referring to those left of the middle.

As you should know it is hard to tell exactly where the middle is sometimes and how close someone is or how far away they are from "that" middle.

Good news is we are all okay no matter what ground we stand upon.

-- Posted by Blessed Assurance on Sat, Aug 5, 2017, at 8:57 AM
  • She better be careful not to get hit in the head by the balls Trump knocks out of the park.

Well, Lazzez-faire (pun also intended), to paraphrase some people's idol, it depends on what your definition of "real" is. Some would say it means anyone on this side of the border talented enough to suck air. Others would say it means legal citizens that love the country and want what is best for the citizens, not those that try to bring us down to third world status. You are right about the heritage thing. Just because my family has been here since well before the War of Colonial Secession doesn't make me a real American. What is deep down inside me does.

-- Posted by fair share on Sat, Aug 5, 2017, at 9:41 AM
  • It is all in the interpretation. Some of us see this administration as pushing us in the direction of third world status. Referring back to your earlier comment about a "coup." There is no coup. Our form of government does not have a king, or a dictator. The three branches of government are supposed to have equal power, and while the strength of the branches has swung back and forth over the past 240 years, the system has worked pretty well. The constitution has proven to be a pretty effective document. We are not a pure democracy, which is good, because a pure democracy would amount to despotism by the majority. That would not serve us well. But, neither should we have despotism by the 30%, no matter how raucous their rallies.

-- Posted by lazarus on Sat, Aug 5, 2017, at 10:38 AM
  • And of course, it depends on how you define "coup". The proper way to change the results of an election is to vote in the next one. Not overthrow the one you don't like. We let b o have his turn, now is Trump's turn. If the anti-Trumpers can't handle that then they need to be prepared for the Trump train to hit back harder. I really hope the left in general, and the Deep State in particular, will let us have peace domestically for the next 3.5 (7.5) years.

-- Posted by fair share on Sat, Aug 5, 2017, at 11:11 AM
  • I haven't seen anything to indicate he will be "overthrown." It would be groundbreaking for either party to take action to remove one of their own from office, no matter what he has done. His bizarre behavior would have to reach the point that even the 35% could no longer shrug it off before there would be talk of removing him from office. Woodrow Wilson was incapacitated by a stroke, but his wife and staff were allowed to serve out his term. Warren G Harding's administration was riddled with corruption, but it was allowed to continue until his term ended.

The Russia investigation could be a little more problematic. Trump's efforts to derail it indicate that there may be criminal liability involved.I believe the Republican congress would be loathe to impeach, no matter what comes out. The biggest thing in Trump's way is his inability to lead anything other than a mob.

-- Posted by lazarus on Sat, Aug 5, 2017, at 4:17 PM
  • Seems some of us have differing views and definitions on what is considered a "mob".

Tell us ole wise one what is a "mob" to you.

I would feel bestowed upon to her the left expound.

-- Posted by Blessed Assurance on Sat, Aug 5, 2017, at 7:41 PM

-- Posted by fair share on Sun, Aug 6, 2017, at 12:40 PM
  • A mob is an unruly crowd that can escalate to violence much like Trumps rallies did.Him encouraging violence by telling them to "punch them in the face and knock the hell out of them" only made it worse.A coup tries to overthrow everything the government stands for which can start by jailing the press, remove anyone that exposes your wrong doing, firing whistle blowers, tries to stop anyone from prosecuting you when you are guilty, refusing to recognize other branches of government and trying to convince people that everyone else is wrong by believing only news that comes from you.

Trump supporters cheer when he tells them that poor people like them are not fit to do anything for him, sad. They really believe he is going to build a wall to keep out immigrants. His administration is wanting to cut LEGAL immigration by 50%.Now the requirements are being able to speak english, slash H-IB visas,be educated and European. His own wife would not be able to get in today because she fails the first three catergories.ijs

-- Posted by lets be real on Sun, Aug 6, 2017, at 4:16 PM
  • Lbur, I would wager Melania speaks as good or better English than you. I would further wager she is better educated than you. I would not wager that her favorite 70's musical group is the Bee Gees nor that her favorite 70's song is "Jive Talking".

FYI we already have more immigrants than any other country. Twenty per cent of the world's total. We are already #1 in this category. It is ok for us to relax a little.

Don't ya like the historical revision of the left? Barely even history yet, but there they go. Trump's rallies were rallies. Granted, sometimes a Soros-funded plant would act up. The real mobs were out rioting because shillary didn't go to Wisconsin.

Interesting take on the definition of coup, lbur. Seems like you think Trump orchestrated a coup. In reality he was duly elected by Americans that were fed up with the same old crap and wanted to see America put first for a while.

-- Posted by fair share on Sun, Aug 6, 2017, at 10:39 PM
  • You can not even understand what Melania is saying when she speaks, she lied about a degree, maybe she got it at fake Trump University.I have a real degree from a real university. She also lied by comimg here on a work visa.

Are you saying the man Trump saw punch another in the face and offered to pay his legal bill was a plant? What about the woman his supporters pushed and hit and called names or the protesters he told his supporters to push out in freezing weather without coats.

He was not elected by majority of Americans.Looks like he is making Russia great again instead of America. He only signed the bill for sanctions against Russia after he was backed in a corner. Why was he not as proud to sign this bill with cameras as he did all the worthless executive orders.

He can stand in front of his sheep and yell fake news all he wants, but he is about to find out the Grand Jury is real.

  • Hillary has been investigated and nothing found,She did not take the fifth but testified for 11 hours unlike some in the Trump administration will probably do.The answer to Trumps 200 days of accomplishing nothing is not Hillary or emails or the democrats. It is Trumps failure and lack of knowledge on how to run a country even with a republican house and senate.Face it America we have a lazy president who cares about nothing but taking vacations and tweeting. His tweeting is taking us straight to another war and he will blame everyone but himself.

-- Posted by lets be real on Mon, Aug 7, 2017, at 5:31 PM
  • Pardon my ignorance, Laz, but I'm a little unclear on this. Are you saying "Hillary" is NOT the proximate cause of Russia getting uranium? Or that the Clintons didn't get richer because of it?

-- Posted by fair share on Mon, Aug 7, 2017, at 7:43 PM
  • Well, yes. She is not the proximate cause of Russia getting uranium. Because Russia did not get any uranium. Not so much as a gram. And I doubt that the Clintons became any richer because of it. People who repeat Trump run a high risk of repeating things that simply are not true. Because, in a lifetime of listening to politicians lie like rugs, I have never encountered any who lie as profusely as Donald Trump.

The story begins with Frank Giustra, a Canadian mining financier whose company Urasia owned the mineral rights to the uranium in question. In 2007 Giustra sold Urasia to a South African Company; Uranium One. In 2009, the Russian nuclear energy agency, Rosatom, began buying up shares in mining companies, including Uranium 1. In 2010, Rosatom sought to increase their share of Uranium One to 51%.

I think this is a convenient place to mention that this all revolves around mineral rights. It is not legal to export Uranium from the United States, and at no point in this saga did a single gram of actual uranium go to Russia. The only thing Rosatom had to gain was whatever share of the profits of a South African company, which Rosatom owned, could be attributed to mineral rights to Uranium in the US. (Which also could not be exported to South Africa.)

Before Rosatom could consummate this purchase, it had to be approved by the CFIUS and the Nuclear Regulatory Agency. The CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment in the US) has representatives from 9 departments or agencies: Defense, Justice, Commerce, Energy, Homeland Security, Office of the US Trade Representative, the Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the State Department. The CFIUS is headed by the Treasury Department. The CFIUS can approve a deal, but if they wish to prohibit one, the matter must go before the president. Typically matters before the CFIUS do not come to the attention of the Secretary of State. And, the State Department representative on the CFIUS at the time the purchase was approved has stated that Clinton had never addressed him on *any* matter before the CFIUS. Regardless, the State Department had only one of nine members on the committee, and he was not the chair.

In 2010 some Republicans questioned the purchase. They did not go to the State Department, but rather to the Treasury, since the Treasury actually headed the CFIUS.

The final approval was given by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency which noted that the actual mines remained under the control of US subsidiaries, and that no actual uranium was going to move. "Neither Uranium One nor ARMZ [the Russian firm] holds an NRC export license, so no uranium produced at either facility may be exported”

So, the statement that *anyone* sold 20% of the US uranium reserves to Russia is patently false. To lay the credit for this purely financial transaction taking place at the feet of Clinton is ridiculous. She had no known involvement, and could not, at any rate, have influenced approval of the transaction. The only actual power she would have had was to try to get it disapproved by the President.

At this point, trying to figure out whether there was some payoff for Clinton to influence a decision over which she exercised no control just seems silly. Are you any clearer now?

  • Trump could not force news stations to lie for him,so he started his own. They will say only what he tells them to say and never question him.Remind you of any other country.

-- Posted by lets be real on Tue, Aug 8, 2017, at 12:36 AM
  • Yeah, Laz, thanks for making that clearer. No actual uranium, just controlling interest in 1/5 of our reserve. Totally unrelated that Uranium One gave the Clintons over $2 mil thru the foundation and Bill got $1/2 mil for a speech in Russia. Nothing to see here. I'll be on my way.

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Aug 8, 2017, at 2:39 AM
  • "Controlling Interest" That sounds pretty ominous. What, exactly, is it that they are going to do with this "controlling interest?"

-- Posted by lazarus on Tue, Aug 8, 2017, at 7:52 AM
  • Don't know. Maybe capitalist with it (ha); maybe socialist with it; maybe communist with it. Just saying 51% = do what you want to with it whereas 49% = do with it what the 51% wants.

This is off topic for sure but I doubt Steve will care. You know Laz, I miss the good old days when we had Carl to kick around. Doesn't seem like we went after each other quite as much back then. Wonder if he got lost on his way down to the T-G to register his name again and maybe get a new photo?

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Aug 8, 2017, at 8:58 AM
  • Actually, they no longer own 51%. I believe they own 100%. I am sure their motives were capitalistic, as they were trying to get control over much of the world supply. On a short term basis, it has not been a great investment. Uranium prices have been declining, and last I knew, the US mines were not even in operation.

Surely Steve won't mind if we wander even further afield. Look how far off topic we already are! Only Carl really cares. I don't think we really go after each other. We just disagree part of the time. But, there was a certain unity to be found in giving Carl a hard time.

  • Trump bowed to Putin again today by thanking him for expelling Americans. He is to ignorant to know that this will not save America payroll money since they will be paid by America anyway. It took him 11 days to even address this These are American patriots who are career government employees there to defend our interest. He made no apology to those Americans who have to move and pull kids out of school. This behavior shows he is guilty of something or has dementia. He has just undermined our American staff in Russia.Putin is the only one he will listen to,not even his Generals.Putin must have something BIGLY on him.Americans saw today where his loyality lies and it is to Russia.

Trump must wonder why would Manaforts home be raided over a "witch hunt or fake news".Now he is trying to distance himself from Manafort as he did Flynn.

Trump looks at getting things done in America as a bystander and not running the country as a leader. The buck stops with him.

  • We are not going to war with NK. Kim is not an idiot. His provocative language is just a ploy to maintain support among his base. His base believes that the US is an existential threat to their country, and that Kim's brash talk shows that he is tough. He is fully aware that using his nuclear weapons would bring down his regime. He is also aware that neither China nor Russia would allow us to launch a preemptive strike. Trump is responding in kind as a ploy to maintain support among his base. His base believes that NK is a threat to their country, and Trump's brash talk shows that he is tough. For both "leaders" this show distracts attention from their domestic failures.

  • It is a shame that it took pressure from both sides and 48 hours later to denounce white supremacy.Merkel of Germany spoke out before Trump. No president should need a teleprompter or have to read off paper to talk to Americans about this evil.He has yet to call it terrorism as he quickly did this same thing in other countries. He is afraid of offending his base. The crowd leader Duke even said they are there to fulfill Trump's dream and that is why they voted for him. There is no evil on both sides of this. One group came armed to a town that voted to remove a statue that represented hate and the other side stood up for what was right for their town.I am so glad to see so many whites standing against hate.Good will overcome this evil.I hope these people are met with this same show of unity of good people in every town.

The black CEO of Merck on his council quit today because of how Trump handled this. When this man got this job Trump said he was one of the most successful leaders in America, now he is quick to trash him on twitter.Trump stated on twitter that now he has more time to rip off more people on drug pricing. Was this one of the things he liked about this man when he gave him the job, what does that tell you.

Trump has emboldened these people and even given them jobs in the white house. If Trump means what he says start by removing Bannon, who is Alt right/White Supremacy.

  • Gotta hand it to you, lbur, at least you haven't gone full-blown bat spit crazy on this, yet. Kinda surprised you aren't calling for banning the sale of Dodge Challengers. After all, that is the car that killed that "peaceful counter protester". The armed group you are referring to came armed to protect themselves from the bat wielding antifa fascists that illegally interfered with a lawful rally. The Unite The Right group had a state Supreme Court ruling affirming the 1st Amendment right to assemble and speak freely. Your buddies who in the past have used violence to shut down free speech around the country were at it again in Charlottesville. They really shouldn't be shocked that their pushing eventually resulted in a push back. Anyone that can't see the evil in the alt left needs to see their ophthalmologist. Had the agitators on the left behaved, there would have been a peaceful rally in Lee Park last Saturday. It is disgraceful to compare the "good people in every town" with those ninnies you seem to be so proud of. My hope is that the cops in every town will ensure everyone's freedom of speech and protect them from those trying to violently shut them down. Not just stand around and let things get out of hand like they did in Charlottesville. But I'm too much a realist to really believe that could happen, especially in democrat controlled areas.

Only 48 hours for Trump to specifically call out white supremacist groups? Not bad. I've actually lost track of how long we have been waiting for o'bummer to specifically call out radical islamic terrorism. Guess I'm a little more patient than some.

  • Fair when a group of white men with torches come to a town on Friday night before the riot and surround a church with pastors and Christians who were praying and planning, what do they think is going to happen. One pastor stated that was just like something out of the 1960's she had seen back then. This is 2017.The "agitators on the left" as you call them did not come with assault rifles and brass nucks or kill someone. You can sidestep all you want. These thugs had no right to be angry after a town voted to remove a statue representing hate and BTW the mayor of the town is white. These are the most violent groups in america and have killed more americans since 9/11 than any group.Texas has already cancelled their next rally for safety.More towns will follow. Now a bombing was prevented in Oklahoma by one of these same people that would have caused many lives.

Trumps Economic Manufacturing Council seems to be falling apart with all the CEO's quiting,so much for jobs. Now he is trashing them on twitter after praising them when he hired them. With all the problems in America he has time to tweet cartoons of a train running over a reporter at CNN days after the woman was ran over and killed in Virginia.SAD

Fair Trump is the one that made it a big deal that Obama did not call all muslims radical. All KKK's and white supremacy groups are radical so why did he not call them out?He was forced to come out and read something off paper and anyone could see he was not happy.

-- Posted by lets be real on Tue, Aug 15, 2017, at 2:23 PM
  • Well fair Trump just reversed everything he said yesterday,in other words he meant what he said the first time.He said he thinks there are some good White Supremacist(racist).David Duke thanked him for his honesty in his statements today. He just gave them the green light to hate, terrorize, set bombs, murder, burn houses, chant death to other races, burn crosses and use cars to run down people who do not agree with them or because they are a different color. His Chief of Staff stood with his head down and arms folded. No president has ever praised the KKK dem or repub.

  • "No president has ever praised the KKK dem or repub." lbur

Anyone ever hear of Woody Wilson?

It is sad that that leftist woman got herself killed the other day. The fact is she wasn't run over by the perp. The perp hit a car that hit the woman. If she had not been obstructing traffic and harassing those poor people, she would still be alive. But it seems like the accepted norm is it is perfectly fine for the left to commit violence on the right and perfectly fine for the left to shut down free speech they don't agree with, but let the right try anything like that then there is hell to pay. Oh well, tis the world we live in.

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Aug 15, 2017, at 7:44 PM
  • Mr. Trump is not doing as well as I had hoped, especially when it comes to public relations.

This is the first I heard that the woman killed was not directly hit by the man charged. I cannot find confirmation one way or the other but all news reports seems to imply he had driven into her.

That is not defending him in the least but with that confusion and original reports not clearly identifying actual affiliations with a certain group, I am not surprised Trump did not single out a group to condemn.

It is sickening to see and hear ANY of this happening in our country. Mr Trump needs to be out in front calming this down. Not that his opponents would accept it anyway, but he needs to lead on this. I am disappointed to say the least.

-- Posted by stevemills on Tue, Aug 15, 2017, at 9:32 PM
  • This woman was on a street over from the rioting and this man set there in the street watching them and accelerated into the crowd knocking people into the air. This came from witnesses not even in the rioting. That is like saying you shot at someone at the edge of a cliff, they fall to their death and you are not responsible. You are guilty of murder. So now it is the womans fault for someone causing her death.Fair if you believe what you said and you sympathize with this hate group then you must be a member.Who ever does not stand against this hate agrees with it.

What Trump said today was chilling and shocking, even the others in the white house is shocked. This is a sad time for America.

-- Posted by lets be real on Tue, Aug 15, 2017, at 9:36 PM
  • Lbur, the only reason I believe what I said is because it is true. Just because you don't like the truth doesn't make it unreal. The dead woman was between the car the Charger hit and the car in front of it . Watch the video. The truth is, if she wasn't obstructing the progress of the car that squished her, she would still be here. Now, please show me where I said I sympathize with "this hate group". I sympathize with it no more than I sympathize with the hate group on the left that you support.

Pray tell, what was chilling and shocking about what Trump said today? He once again denounced the violence and hate. Predictably, that is never enough for you people. Let me guess. Was it when he pointed out the culpability of the rabble rousers on the left? I can only hope it was enough to shock some sense into those idiots. Of course, I'm just a hopeless optimist.

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Aug 15, 2017, at 11:00 PM
  • There is no hate group on the left fair, only in your mind.So Trump said they were quitely protesting while surrounding a church LOUDLY chanting "Jews will not replace us" and "blood and soil"Chants from Nazi Germany while killing 6 million jews. How many of the white supremacist were killed or hospitalized? They are a slap in the face to veterans who died in a war against Nazi germany.

Thank you for the real Americans for removing these statues all over America of traitors portrayed as heros. These traitors started a war to keep people slaves and should have been hung for treason against America.

What is chilling is to hear a president who is suppose to calm the nation escalate this rhetoric and call them good people.Yesterday the real Trump stood up."The presidency does not change you,it reveals who you are".

Did anyone see the look on his Chief of Staff's face yesterday,I see another resignation in the future.

-- Posted by lets be real on Wed, Aug 16, 2017, at 11:41 AM
  • Lbur, way past time for you to get real. You need to get your ears cleaned out. Or actually listen to what Trump says instead of what bsnbc says he said. Do you really want to play a numbers game? Your commie buddies on the left make the nazis look like amateurs when it comes to killing people. You better warn " the real Americans" you are encouraging to commit crimes that they will end up in jail.

Let me see if I have this straight. With all the violence and calls for death from antifa and blm, and attempted mass murder of Republican congressmen, there are no hate groups on the left. But those on the right that exercise their first Amendment rights are all part of a hate group because 1 of them killed a protester. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me.

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Aug 16, 2017, at 1:41 PM
  • At no time have I encouraged anyone to commit a crime.i was referring to the people in the towns that voted to remove these statues.

Remember Trump's big photo-op in the past with all those CEOs,well they have all resigned now.He bragged that Obama was not able to do this with CEOs because he(Trump) was a bigly business man.

Seems the number of mayors is mounting also against him coming to their town for rallies.

The Divider in Chief did not go to the memorial today in Virginia for Heather Hyer or send a representive. The president is suppose to be the Mourner in Chief,we don't have that now.

If Trump tries to pardon convicted ex-sheriff of Arizona he will further divide America.I am sure he will be offered a job in the white house.

Every one heard Trump call protesters evil, now he denies equating them with white supremacist.

  • Les B Reel; I am saddened by this orgy of vandalism. The wholesale searching out of every monument even remotely attached to the South for the purpose of destruction is not an attack on "symbols of hate." It is an expression of hatred. It is a primitive effort to remove all traces of people who are long since dead. The fact is, it provides fuel for the very sentiments that we would all prefer to see die out. Why do something that only results in providing recruiting material for the very groups that you oppose?

Fare Share; despite the presence of Antifa, there is no equalizing the Nazi demonstrators to the anti-Nazi demonstrators. If there was a "nonviolent" demonstrator marching with the Neo Nazis, then that was the most naive person on earth. We all know what the Nazis stand for. Now, I am personally opposed to people seeking to express their political opinions by violence. Heck, i am disgusted by those who want to express their political opinions by destroying statues. However, as a post WWII child, I wondered, like just about everyone, how people just let the evil of Nazism occur. How could so many people go quietly to their deaths? Being faced with a political movement that intends to kill you seems like a place where a line might be drawn. Trump embracing and defending the very people our country went to war to stop does nothing to improve my opinion of him.

-- Posted by lazarus on Thu, Aug 17, 2017, at 9:21 PM
  • I would be remiss if I did not add, that I am truly unhappy that the Nazis have made this issue their cause. They are an embarrassment.

  • Wouldn't it be nice if the extremists on the left and the extremists on the right (even if one might just be 8 of 10 bad while the other might be 9 out of 10 bad) could come together to fight a common foe? Of course I am talking about the muslim sect that hit Spain yesterday.

When it comes to trying to erase history (a lesson we haven't learned from our commie friends), it doesn't really make sense to stop at desecrating monuments, does it? Seems like we also need to bulldoze Arlington National Cemetery. And change a bunch of town names. And states. Can't believe how naive I used to be. I thought some goofs had their panties all in a wad about the Washington Redskins because of the reference to Indians (feather, not dot). Turns out it's all about George.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Aug 18, 2017, at 2:03 AM
  • Laz, of course you are right. We all know what the nazis stand for. We also all know what antifa, blm, and the left in general stand for. Granted, some have more trouble admitting it than others. What I find kinda funny is the nazis and white supremacists look up to hitler. I'll be the first to admit way too many people are dead because of him. But don't you think stalin and mao make hitler look like the 98 pound weakling getting sand kicked on him? Kinda like the teacher's pet. Not really with the program as much as the others but he is the one that gets all the attention.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Aug 18, 2017, at 8:10 AM
  • Stalin, Mao, Hitler; the forms of government were not really important. All three were dictators. Similar results have been achieved throughout history with kings, emperors. pharaohs, etc. The only thing that seems to be lacking in history is a record of "good" dictators. That is the beauty of our form of government. The three branches serve as a governor over each other. And no one can stay in power for life.

  • Fair I believe you are one of the ones who time and again have said blacks need to get over slavery history and move on,well now I say the same about people hanging on to statues representing a dark era in history. These were erected after the civil war to threaten blacks.

As the people in Spain lay dying yesterday Trump tweets a lie about General Perching putting pig blood on bullets to kill muslims, shameful. He does not know basic history. It took him 2 days to even say anything about what happened in Virginia and 2 hours to condemn terrorist in Spain, but he "waits for the facts".He has yet to call white supremacist terrorist.I am glad to see the residents of Boston along with the police will stand up to the white supremacy this weekend.Continue to rise up America against hate.

Well another one bites the dust in the white house,Steve Bannon. This white house will go down in history as the most chaotic and most incompetent. As Corker said Trump does not understand the character of America. We do not have good moral character in the white house. The white house was not bombarded with scandals or crawling with lawyers like this when Obama was president.

-- Posted by lets be real on Fri, Aug 18, 2017, at 1:00 PM
  • Well, unreal, it seems logical that if certain people could find it in their hearts to forgive certain other people of things they never did over 150 years ago, we could have much better race relations in the here and now. But if you really need to blame people in the here and now, I would propose blaming the people that started the KKK. And if you don't know who that is maybe the local democrat party headquarters could fill you in.

That pig blood on bullets meant for muslims is a pretty good story, don't ya think? I can't prove it is true. You can't prove it isn't. Still a good story. And I'm sure it caused some mental anguish in some muslims that were trying to kill us back in the day.

-- Posted by Blessed Assurance on Sat, Aug 19, 2017, at 9:16 AM
  • A good story? Only if I wanted to make fun of you for complete ignorance. What will you share next; that Jews wear little hats because they actually have horns growing out of their heads?

As far as one of your other staples, yes lets do go back 150 years. Back to when Tennessee spent most of the war as occupied territory, and in their spare time roving bands of Union soldiers raped, robbed, and murdered with absolute impunity. Back to when the proud Republicans secured the freedmen's votes with empty promises of redistributing the property of the former slaveowners among the former slaves who had worked the land. Back to the days when the Republicans were promising "40 acres and a mule" to all the freed slaves. When we finish tearing down all the Confederate memorials, why not keep going and tear down all the Union monuments as well? Nobody was pure and innocent, on either side. There is a reason that the South was solidly Democrat for more than a century, right up until the Republicans and Democrats switched sides on racial issues in the South.

-- Posted by lazarus on Sat, Aug 19, 2017, at 10:17 AM
  • Wow Laz. If you'll quit being triggered by what I said, I'll not get triggered for being called ignorant. I know the story is probably not true but I still think it was funny Pershing was playing mind games with the enemy. I gotta wonder if you might have misinterpreted my remarks about the statues and monuments. I meant to show the silliness of destroying things you don't like especially while thinking that will change or erase history. When it comes to the War of Northern Aggression, I agree there were bad people on both sides but most of the ones that got killed or hurt on both sides were just ordinary people fighting for their country. I'm a believer in A10. If old Abe respected it or trusted SCOTUS, much of the carnage could have been avoided. May be urban legend, but likely Jeff Davis hung around DC after Abe was sworn in hoping Abe would have him arrested knowing it would end up at SCOTUS. But Abe knew they would rule for the South so he let him go. Every state joined the Union of their own free will and has the right to un-join. That's why I'll be the first to say "adios" to Cali. As far as the dems and repubs switching sides, I'm not so sure. Fat Alberta's dad, Al Gore Sr voted against civil rights. It was more like Johnson and the republicans got it thru despite the dems.

Trumps insistence on going to Phoenix after the mayor ask him to delay his campaign rally shows he cares only about himself. No respect for the family loosing a daughter in Virginia or safety of its citizens. If he mentions a pardon for convict Joe Arpaio he will divide the city.He does not care as long as he gets a crowd to cheer him on to boost his ego because this is his addiction.

I wonder how his son-in-law feel now since Trump said those people loudly chanting Nazi phrases "Jews will not replace us and blood and soil" with torches around a church are fine people.

  • While watching the local news saw a portion of Trumps rally in Pheonix tonight and the same one black man is in the background again with the Blacks for Trump sign, strange.Wonder how much Trump pays this man. Also shocked to see Ben Carson in the background.I guess since his remarks about "fine people in the KKK" he thinks putting someone of color in the background will help the situation.

Trump omits "many sides"line in inaccurate defense of Charlottesville Virginia speech, another lie. When he pardons convicted Joe Arpaio he will give him a job in the white house.

  • Well, unreal, if you had watched his speech instead of seeing bits and pieces that the media wants you to see, and actually listened to what he said instead of watching the crowd, you would have witnessed the most recent example of his 25 plus years of disavowing racism and hate groups. Doubt you'll be able to catch clips of it tomorrow on bsnbc or your other favorite news sources. So carry on with your racist, racist, racist agenda.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Aug 31, 2017, at 8:59 PM
  • Thank goodness you're okay unreal. I was starting to wonder if you had run off to the left coast and been sucked into the " peaceful counter protester" vortex of the violent haters we call antifa. Or maybe gone down to Houston, possibly to help, but then drowned when their mayor gave them a little extra flooding. Whatever you've been doing, I'm glad you are back safe and sound. Well, at least safe.

What, pray tell, do you have against David Clarke and Joe Arpiao? Are you anti-law and order? I would think you would at least like Clarke. You and he are so much alike. He is a democrat too. Maybe there is a difference tho. He is a guy, but far be it from me to assume your gender.

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Aug 31, 2017, at 10:30 PM
  • I find it sort of ironic to describe Arpiao as a "law and order" guy. "Law and order" guys enforce the laws, not break them. And it is pretty central to our legal system that you cannot put people in jail and hold them for no other reason than you don't like their looks.... even if they are not white.

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Sep 1, 2017, at 2:57 AM
  • Yeah, well, Sheriff Joe is law and order. Almost went to jail for enforcing the law that the Feds wouldn't. And there is a bit of difference between throwing people in jail just because of their skin color and talking to them and gathering information because they fall into a particular profile. When people are in a general group that is known to be partly comprised of bad hombres, it makes sense to determine if they are one of the bad ones. Whether you're talking about people trying to steal citizenship or even the whole country, or talking about people trying to kill us just because we won't be like them.

  • Fair why do you think Clark's own town wants him out.I guess you think it was okay when his prisoners died after he refused giving them water and what happened to the pregnant woman and her baby was okay. What he did for Arpaio was a slap in the face to "law and order".Arpaio I am sure calls himself a christian and treated his prisoners worse than you would treat an animal. This sends a message that if you support Trump and break the law you will be "taken care of".That is why Mueller is teaming with the state on Russia probe because he will not be able to pardon his cronies there.

Seems like another one in the white house may be biting the dust soon,John Kelly. He probably wants out before Trump ruins his reputation and he winds up in a criminal case.Trump is also unhappy with Tillerson. When are they going to learn that Trump listens to no one but Trump.Remember he is "smarter than anyone even the Generals".

I bet his female supporters can not wait cheer him on when he signs the equal pay act, even though it will hurt them it does not matter as long as he undo something Obama done. His sheep thinks it will make America great again.

  • "slap in the face to "law and order"" by unreal

If we are really going to talk about a slap in the face to law and order, we need to at least mention obama commuting the sentences of Oscar Lopez Rivera and Bradley Manning. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that bummer didn't pardon bo birddog pretrial. And don't forget, slick willy sold a pardon to one of the biggest tax cheats ever. All things considered, pardoning a leo convicted only because the libtard western courts don't like the laws ain't such a bad thing. And btw, Trump can pardon anyone he wants to, even his Russian collusion buddies, if he had any.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Sep 1, 2017, at 9:47 PM
  • What law was he enforcing? The law against not being white? He got in trouble for stopping people for no reason other than not being white, and holding them for no reason at all.

"When people are in a general group that is known to be partly comprised of bad hombres, it makes sense to determine if they are one of the bad ones." Is there any "general group" of people that is not partly comprised of "bad hombres?" By that logic anyone could be thrown into jail without cause. Sorry; Sheriff Joe is not law and order, he is a criminal.

  • Well Trump will give it another go in Houston today. He showed no empathy his last trip, promoted his line of hats, campaign style visit where he bragged about crowd size and talked about when he would congratulate himself was a flop.Lets see if the million dollar check turns out like the 6 million he was suppose to donate to the veterans. We know his history of donating. He can not use money from his foundation now since it is under investigation.

Proof of his dealings with Russia is popping up going back 30 years. We all heard him say he has never had any dealings with Russia. His first draft letter to Comey has popped up on why he fired him.We do not even need that since he stated in interview with Lester Holt that it was because of the Russian investigation.Glad to see Mueller is getting assistance from the IRS.

Fair the president can only pardon for federal crimes not state. When Arpaio and Clarke are your friends in law enforcement you are promoting lawlessness.Clark let 5 people die in his jail.

  • The 2 things I am curious about are :

    1) What state laws were violated by the alleged collusion?

    2) How many people have died in our little jail?

  • We have a child sitting in the oval office who is a coward.Trump is no leader,he does not have a heart only an open sore.He did not even have enough guts to tell the 800,000 people who have been here since babies that they are not welcome here. These people are teachers, soldiers, nurses, students and in all types of jobs. They have as much right to be here as Melania Trump who came here on a work visa without a job which is illegal. What happened to her news conference that she was suppose to show her immigration papers? Trump rants about making America great, well this is not going to make our economy great.

-- Posted by lets be real on Tue, Sep 5, 2017, at 12:35 PM
  • So you are talking about citizens?

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Sep 5, 2017, at 1:05 PM
  • Of course, unreal, I know you aren't talking about citizens. You are talking about illegals. People who have no right to be here. And instead of being glad Trump is giving them an extra 6 months, or mad at obummer for making it expire now, you seem to have your panties in a wad because Trump didn't give them the moon, roll out the red carpet, and kiss their....well, you know why they are in a wad. Too bad for them there aren't more citizens here that want to reward illegal behavior by pretending it really is heroic awesomeness. Speaking of Melania, doesn't she look great in heals?

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Sep 5, 2017, at 5:32 PM
  • It is an interesting dichotomy, Fare. You call it "illegal behavior" for children to be brought here by their parents. But you refer to a grown adult, purportedly working in law enforcement, who willfully defies both the constitution and the law as "law and order." The inconsistent belief in the "rule of law" weakens your position on both issues.

-- Posted by lazarus on Wed, Sep 6, 2017, at 1:38 PM
  • Laz, I can see how you might reasonably come to that false conclusion. I suppose technically the illegal behavior was originally on the parents' heads. Many of the " kids" are adults now, so they get the credit for continuing their illegal status. It all boils down to this: if they ain't documented some way or other, they ain't supposed to be here. And I don't see any reason to blame Sheriff Joe for doing what he could to get rid of those that were here illegally. Now this isn't exactly apples to apples (at least not granny smith to granny smith, maybe granny smith to red delicious) but not quite apples to oranges either. But take a good look at Texas right now. See all the hurt and anguish going on over there? That is what happens when you don't secure your border and just let anything and everything come in. Sooner or later it is going to hurt you. I suppose the left actually has a workable way of dealing with it, just gonna take a while. We could keep going like we are with very porous borders and keep letting in everyone that wants to come. Eventually the USA will be no more desirable than the rat holes they are coming from. Not being worth the trouble of relocating, they will stay home. And what with them all being such fine, upstanding, intelligent, and hard working souls, they will eventually make their own country a nice place people would want to go to. At least then we will have somewhere we can try to sneak into. Ya think they will let us stay and take care of us? They might, but I wouldn't count on it. And even if they would, I would rather take care of myself. But then, that is just me. And a whole bunch of other people in this country.

Speaking of DACA, I really don't understand why the left is so ticked at Trump about it. If they want to be ticked, why not at obummer for making it expire now? Do they not realize that Trump is violating the Constitution by keeping it going 6 more months? Really surprising to me they don't applaud that. I actually thought about being mad at him over this but decided not too. After all, he is Trump so it is ok with me. And it has the pragmatic purpose of dumping the whole mess into Congress' lap where it belongs.

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Sep 6, 2017, at 6:20 PM
  • "...all the hurt and anguish going on" in Texas? I don't think the wall would have kept out Harvey. But, it wouldn't keep out Mexicans either. Illegal immigrants get here from China, and we have a whole ocean separating us.

I think I understand our difference of opinion over Arapiao. Not every hispanic person is here illegally. As a matter of fact, I would imagine the vast majority in Arizona are actually US citizens. In my mind, constitutional rights apply to all citizens. Clearly, you feel that those rights do not apply to hispanic citizens, as there is such a great danger that they are murderers and rapists and drug dealers, that they all need to be thrown in jail until we can determine otherwise. That does not leave us much room for a meeting of the minds.

-- Posted by lazarus on Thu, Sep 7, 2017, at 1:41 PM
  • Yeah, I don't think the wall would keep out the hurricane either. I just thought it was an interesting semi-analogy. It also wouldn't keep out all the illegals. But it would keep a lot of them out. Just look at China. They have a wall and you could probably count their illegal Hispanic population on 2 hands.🤔

I agree most Hispanics in Arizona, and the rest of the USA for that matter, are citizens or legal aliens. And most of the illegals are likely decent people and otherwise law abiding. Constitutional rights belong to citizens. And if you want to give them to legal aliens, I might not argue too much about that. But they certainly don't belong to people that are not citizens and are only here because they won't follow our law to come here legally. And I don't see why it's a bad thing for us to want to make sure they have the right to be here before they get to vote or go home after a traffic stop.

Laz, I truly hope you aren't one of "them" that claim at his campaign announcement Trump called ALL illegals rapists and murders. All you gotta do is watch the video.

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Sep 7, 2017, at 3:43 PM
  • Fair we are not taking care of any DACA folks, they do not get any of welfare and they pay taxes. These people have no criminal record and 91% are employed or in school. Some have degrees and speak better english than Melania. Most of the illegals coming here come by plane and outstay their visas. You did not say anything about Melania maybe being here illegally, only that she looks good in "heals".What about her immigration papers, are you not interested? You will probably give her a pass because she looks more the type of immigrant you think we should accept.

Trump Jr meet with the committee today and seems there was 3 more calls he made to Russians he had to disclose, but has amnesia as to the conversation. They will probably refresh his memory when they pull the phone records. Russian probe seems to be getting closer to daddy everyday.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Sep 7, 2017, at 11:38 PM
  • Now I see we are back to the Russia thing. Don't we need to beatch about how he deals with Irma first? After all, it must be his fault. Somehow or another. Or maybe we could be like shillary and blame burney.

"These people have no criminal record"

    ??????????????

What part of "illegal" do you not understand? The type of immigrants I think we should accept are the legal type, regardless of what they look like. They could all look like you for all I care. Of course, having the fashion model beauty like Melania does is like having a cherry on top.

As for the Dreamers, I have no problem with them dreaming. They just need to do it on the other side of the wall until they fulfill the requirements for legal immigration.

  • "And I don't see why it's a bad thing for us to want to make sure they have the right to be here before they get to vote or go home after a traffic stop."

I won't disagree with you about voting. Altho it would seem more imperative that we secure our system from having the Russians plant enough electronic votes to put an incompetent in the White House. However, have you considered the ramifications of indiscriminately hauling anyone who has brown skin and an accent off to jail, and holding them indefinitely with no evidence of wrongdoing? What happens to what you agree is a majority of legal citizens? According to the numbers I looked up , we have about 57 million hispanic citizens and 5 million illegals at the current time (we have about 10 million illegals of all stripes, with about half coming from places other than Mexico (the majority from Asia or Sub Saharan Africa.) How is it right that a US citizen cannot leave home with the certainty that he will be back that day... or the next... or indefinitely, all because any law enforcement person he encounters might just haul him off and toss him in jail without charges? How are these people supposed to keep their jobs? What are the families supposed to do? Well, it is not right. And that is why it is not legal. This is why I do not take seriously your argument that you only oppose the continued residence of the DACA people because you believe in strictly following the law. You believe in strictly following the law, when doing so is detrimental to hispanics. Then turn around and support ignoring the law, when doing so is detrimental to hispanics. It is difficult for me to reach any conclusion other than you are opposed to hispanics.

  • Only the ones that are here illegally.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Sep 8, 2017, at 10:21 AM
  • If he was only picking up the ones that were here illegally, he would have not had a problem. He was using the old "Kill 'em all, and let god sort it out" approach. That is not who we are, and I hope it is not who we ever become.

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Sep 8, 2017, at 12:48 PM
  • I thought his action was "this needs to be fixed" and by doing what he did put it in the lap of Congress to make a decision.

There were many, including States that felt that DACA was illegal from the start. Now Congress is semi-forced to make it legal, modify it or discard it.

-- Posted by stevemills on Fri, Sep 8, 2017, at 1:29 PM
  • I think laz is talking about Sheriff Joe. I don't think he was stopping people just because they had brown skin or an accent. Once stopped, why not determine the legality of their presence here? Otherwise, it's about like strip searching the Irish Catholic 90 y/o granny at the airport while letting the 20 y/o middle eastern nervous guy prance on thru with his shoe bomb. Don't know wth happened to common sense. Guess it really isn't all that common.

As far as DACA goes, no less a constitutional scholar than o'bummer himself said multiple times it was unconstitutional, then went ahead and did it anyway. Talk about ignoring the law!

  • Fair unless you are native american your ancestors came here illegally. When Europeans came to the shores of this country did they ask the indians if they could stay?I am sure they would like to deport all of us.So if it happens that the"fashion model beauty" is here illegally you would be ready to deport her? It does not matter if she is married to an American because that is not going to help the dreamers. Some of them are married to Americans and have children born here.Fair if brown skin was not the reason he stopped them then why did he not stop white people and determine their legality.

How many times has everyone heard Trump say"I had nothing to do with Russia".Now it seems all the while he was saying this he had a deal going with them to build a Trump Tower in Russia and name it after Ivanka. So fair the "Russia thing" is going full blast and not going away.

  • Don't think the Folks who crossed through Alaska from Asia asked either. But then again, what organized country, with immigration laws was there to ask?

-- Posted by stevemills on Fri, Sep 8, 2017, at 8:22 PM
  • FYI, unreal, since you are so interested in my heritage, I am native American. I was born right here in the good old US of A. As were my parents, and their parents, and et cetera, et cetera. I also have a little Indian blood in me (feather, not dot). Probably around 1/32 or 1/64. And I imagine you also are a native American. But if you feel like you don't belong here, you are certainly free to leave. You could go back to where your ancestors came from. Or you could join all your friends that moved to Canada due to being p o'd that Trump won. But they are probably racist since nary a one of them threatened to move to Mexico. By the way, my ancestors won this country fair and square. Wars have consequences. You can hate on Melania all you want but she is still the First Lady.

-- Posted by fair share on Sat, Sep 9, 2017, at 2:44 AM
  • I never mentioned anything about wanting to leave here, this is about human decency. You would be willing to tear familys apart. What do you think we should do with all the dreamers kids that was born here who are now citizens. Are you willing to feed and clothe them? How did your ancestors win this country fair and square?

Seems Trumps Mar-a-Largo is insured by the federal government. After a hurricaine in 2005 he collected 17 million for damages that only cost $3,0000 to repair.Out of his own mouth he stated"I pocketed some of it".This is called insurance fraud. He will do it again and get away with it because he does not uphold the law when it concerns him and his buddies, namely Arpaio.

-- Posted by lets be real on Sat, Sep 9, 2017, at 2:07 PM
  • If the families want to tear themselves apart, that is their business. There is no law saying illegals can't take their kids with them.

-- Posted by fair share on Sat, Sep 9, 2017, at 2:29 PM
  • It is strange to me that people that claim to be pro-life are ready to send children born in America back to what could mean death to some to a country they never knew.
