Another project that the Lord keeps putting in my head is to develop a company that teaches as well as pays young people ages 16-21 to run a business. By 21 they should have graduated from college and/or had enough training to go out and start a business of their own, or be a strong contributor to someone else’s company.
While they are in school the emphasis will be one their education and how it relates to the real world. So while making money will be a side benefit, the results we are looking for would be someone ready to hit the ground running when it is time. They would be expected to maintain a C average, so after-work tutoring would also be a benefit of working there.
Everyone would make the same hourly wage starting out, including any adults needed, and extra wages would come from profit sharing and bonuses, decided by the employees & management. They would learn about accounting, insurance, company as well as employment taxes, operating expenses, scheduling, mechanical repair, advertising/marketing, internet sales, using social media for more than socializing, J responsibilities, business ethics, social responsibility, donating, etc. Basically, all the workings that go on within a business that many people never see or realize.
Again helping them learn, and grow to help themselves and their community. What do you think?
