  • This is all old news! Hillary supposedly destroyed 33,000 emails and now the most powerful and honest intelligent agency in the world (according to most American idiots)has just said that it has lost 50,000 of the emails they had in their hands.

Just how stupid are the American People? A lot of those emails are also in the hands of the Judicial Watch, who have received copies under the FOIA. In fact I have even read some of the emails that were declassified. One in specific is one sent by One of Bill Clinton's top Lawyers, Cheryl Miles who was working for Hillary on her email problems. She sent an email telling everyone in the State Department and the DNC that they had to cover-up Obama's name in the emails BECAUSE Obama had just gone on TV and said he didn't know anything about Hillary using her private email server, but was sending and receiving emails to and from Hillary Clinton all along. That email (Tar Baby) alone ties exPres Barack Obama to the Hillary Clinton scam to destroy Trump and win the election. Only thing is, Hillary was relying on winning if she could destroy Trump but done nothing to win the election on her own.

She thought all the Powers-To-Be had already made her a shoe in for Commander in Chief. She thought the women would automatically vote her in office along with the Mexicans, Muslims,Christians and immigrants. Just ask Lets be real! That is what she thought also.

When the perfect election Fraud failed, she had no campaign with anything good about herself. She spent all the donations on putting out evil **** about Trump. She lost big time because she didn't spend the money on selling herself. She thought the Powers-To-Be would do the rest and hand her the election.

She is now fixing to go under investigation again when all these new (old) information is brought out in the open. This is the biggest Government/Private corruption in the History of the world. This is just as plain as the nose on your face, yet they are treating it as something new that just came out. The FBI has had this information ever since BEFORE Trump was elected.

Hillary, several people in the Justice Department, Several other Gov. Department personnel and exPresident Barack Obama himself and his WH Administration could face indictments. Since VP Joe Biden said he knew everything that Pres Obama knew, he could be indicted also in the indictment if it ever goes anywhere.

    Talk about draining the swamp!

  • Sui you will still be watching Faux news when Trump and his bunch go to jail and will never know it happened. Why are you not even suspicious when you see Sessions lie on tape that he never had any meetings or contact with Russians then the CIA has surveillance to prove he did? Why are you not concerned when a president tries to shut down an investigation if he is innocent. Why are Trumps lawyers so concerned about Mueller catching him in a "perjury trap"? Are they afraid he will lie?

  • Apparently congress has a whistle-blower substantiating claims of meetings between FBI and DOJ officials planning to undermine his presidency.

  • f you were up on the news LBR, you would know that the Democrats have been trying to frame Trump with everything under the sun. No charges even made yet and Trump comes out on top. Trump is a fighter and a doer and has to do both to stay in office. No one did anything to Obama like the democrats are doing to Trump and it IS Racist against Trump and the "White" People.

Take a moment and think about this. The women in the Women's march are complete idiots. Last year they wouldn't allow the women who were pro life to march with them. that was discriminating against the women, wouldn't you agree? this week, the women were against "WHITE" Women! Where in the hell did that come from. Those women in the women's march are just plain stupid or brain dead. How can they come together and win anything when they can't even accept "White" women in their marches? Sounds like something they took from the latest Trump complain about him being "White". It all comes down to reverse Racism by the blacks, browns, Haitians, Muslims, Mexicans and immigrants.

Did you see all the white people in the women's protest Marches? All those "White" people are protesting their own race with racism. That is what Obama and Hillary have brought to America.

Look around you and count the races and nationalities living in These united States of America. We are no longer the United States of America. We are the Un-united People of the United Nations. The United Nations is in charge of sending refugees into our country and how many we are suppose to take in, yet we have to furnish the UN with most of their Operating Capital. Of course, every government agency has been given to the United Nations as a Bankruptcy agreement. Congress did that in 1945. No government agency has authority inside the 50 Sovereign states. Maybe 51 states if Calif. divides into 2 states like they want to.

It's like I have always said,if we keep letting immigrants enter our country, we will be a nation of foreigners and not "UNITED" States of America.

Obama, Hillary and the Democrats have divided the country and tried to blame trump for dividing the country. Trump is bringing the country back together again. The people are brain damaged and don't realize that they are dividing themselves from each other. I said back when Obama was dividing the country, that the mother's would be against their daughters and vise versa and fathers against their sons and vise versa. Neighbors against neighbors, and relatives against relatives. You can see it happening right here TODAY in the Un-united People of the United Nations.

TODAY the Women have divided themselves from "White Women". Tell me that isn't racist by the leftist Black Lives Matter, Anti-Facists and the Democrats.

Ya'll have to digest all that before I can go on!

Steve, one only needs to read Sui's posts to see how conspiracy theories can take hold and get blown out of proportion.

The Mueller investigation is closing in on Trump and his campaign.

Trump and republicans loyal to him are urinating down their legs at this point and will do anything they can to discredit Mueller and his investigation.

    It's all they have left.

This latest story about FBI agents is another smoke screen.

The facts are this...An FBI agent was having an affair with an FBI lawyer. The two texted each other...a lot.

They said bad things about people. Including Donald Trump. One of them called him an idiot.

This is surprising? Trumps own Secretary of State called Trump a f**king moron. His Cheif of Staff called him "uninformed".

But anyway, Mueller fired the FBI agent.

None of this would ever have come to light if Mueller himself didn't fire the guy and make it public.

But with Mueller closing in, its white knuckle time for Trump and his republican loyalists.

Since this one agent thought Trump was an idiot, and texted his girlfriend about it, now Republicans want to take down the whole FBI.

This is like another "Pizza Gate".

And people like sui that are prone to believing conspiracy theories fall right into it.

And that's exactly what Trump and republicans are counting on. When they're found guilty of treasonous acts, they want to blame the FBI and The Justice Department. Nixon is rolling around in his grave saying..."Darn, why didn't I think of that?"

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Wed, Jan 24, 2018, at 5:29 AM
  • Yeah, Steve, let's all move along. Nothing to see here. It really is just SOP for a government law enforcement agency to work with their preferred political party to subvert the will of the people. Can't we just all get along and be good comrades?

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Jan 24, 2018, at 5:58 AM
  • *

Fair gives another perfect example of what I was talking about.

Since we found out that one FBI agent texted his girlfriend and called Trump an idiot, now he can accuse an entire "government law enforcement agency" of working with a preferred political party. There's now a "secret society" out to get Trump.

    The liberal illuminati.

It's like we're living out the movie "Idiocracy".

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Wed, Jan 24, 2018, at 6:25 AM
  • Not the "entire" agency. But the top leadership of the FBI sure has given the rest of them a black eye and made the whole thing suspect, at best.

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Jan 24, 2018, at 6:32 AM
  • *

But you don't find suspect the fact that top leadership in the Trump campaign met with Russian officials, then lied about it, or in Jeff Sessions case developed amnesia, at the same time that Russian spies were hacking into our election process?

You don't find it suspect that republicans are trying so hard to discredit The FBI investigation now that Mueller is planning to interview Trump on possible Obstruction of Justice activities?

Republicans know that if Trump goes down, so does the Republican Party.

They're in freak out mode right now.

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Wed, Jan 24, 2018, at 7:32 AM
  • More like the country will go down, or maybe just the left. I don't think the mainstream citizenry will stand by while the left that tries to overthrow the government. Especially now that the ship is being righted.

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Jan 24, 2018, at 8:18 AM
  • It's a bit more than two FBI agents having an affair.

Even CNN is running the story now.

In the texts that were turned over Strzok says he doesn't really want to join the Mueller investigation, because there's no big "there" there.

  • You need to reach around and pull your head out of your *** RV! Every since Trump started campaigning to be president the News Media and the low life Democrats have done nothing but everything they can to make up lies and stories about Trump! The Democratic Party have committed FRAUD over and over again rigging the election in Hillary's favor and lied about it. They even admitted to rigging the election against Bernie S. and nothing was done about it, yet they can't stop worrying about Russia interfering in the election like Pres Obama did in Egypt and Israel. Russia does this every year and our most powerful NSA intell. agencies know nothing yet. They are still investigating Trump because they are afraid to investigate Hillary Rotten Clinton because they know they would have to prosecute her, XPres. Obama, his Administration, VP Biden and several government agents. It's better to just keep going after Trump until they can find something sticking to the wall, like the Government now wants to keep the money that the Trump Towers is making from foreign dignitaries. Why should the government take the money that belongs to the person Trump put in charge of the Hotel? Talk about Democratic Scams!

Sessions IS the AG, and should be investigating Mueller and all his prejudice democratic members of his council.

Our most treasured Intelligent FBI Agency has lost 50,000 emails that were being held as evidence in the Hillary Clinton Trial and YOU RV, put your trust in our FBI? This indicates that our most powerful KGB agency needs to be put under a microscope and taken a good long look at.

You have been brainwashed right along with all the other US conformed citizens who believe the US will protect you.

You believe we should allow anyone to sneak into our country and not close the back doors. Hell you even want to open the front door to anyone who wants to come to the nation of FREEDOM. USA where FREEDOM is FREE for the asking. All anyone has to do is just get inside our unprotected borders and they are FREE to do anything they want to.

No way, look at all those sick women demanding TRUMP to GIVE THEM more Rights. That is so F**king stupid. Woman too were born with Unalienable rights to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness to do anything they want to without having to purchase a license to do it like the enemy has to (Immigrants and 14th amendment citizens).

-- Posted by sui on Wed, Jan 24, 2018, at 4:22 PM
  • Sui women of all color are standing together and signing up more people to vote, get over it.

While Trump is fretting about closing the border and muslims,he remains silent about white males shooting up America. They are now the biggest domestic terrorist threat in America not non-violent protesters. Now we have a american nazi threatening to kill CNN employees thanks to Trumps ranting about them being our enemies. He wants them to ignore the facts and not say anything negative about him.

Well Mikey, looks like it's all falling apart already. The republican Senator, Ron Johnson, now says that there actually isn't a "whistle blower" or "informant".

He just kinda pulled that outta his...well, he just made that part up.

    Alrighty then

  • The missing texts happened when switching to new phones,so much for secret conspiracy.

Trump popped off his big mouth and said he is willing to talk to Mueller under oath.As he says we will see,his word is no good.If he lies under oath or not it is still a crime, and everyone knows he can not go a day without lying.

All the evangelical christians and pastors upholding Trumps dirt are now worshipping the golden calf(Trump) instead of Christ.Even Jim Bakker says he was teaching Stormy about the gospel.Melania isn't falling for it and refused to go to Switzerland with him. Then she should not expect better since he had a wife when she became his mistress.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Jan 25, 2018, at 12:46 PM
  • RV,

I didn't see anything in that video denying a whistle-blower.

Listen to what is said by him rather than what the host is implying.

    Really, Mikey?

Do you need the transcript printed out for you?

It's all been debunked. There is no "secret society" imbedded in the FBI.

Just like there was no child sex ring in the basement of a pizza shop run by Hillary Clinton.

While Senator Johnson backpedals off his earlier statement about the informant and the secret society he doesn't say there is a "whistle blower", he says, "this is where whistle blowers come" so it "didn't surprise him when he read it".

He says, "I had heard", himself.

So, is he the "whistle blower"??

These republicans are so full of B.S. It's almost comical at this point

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Thu, Jan 25, 2018, at 4:52 PM
  • Nearly as funny as the former AG and the former president having a 20 minute tarmac moment just talking about the grandkids.

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Jan 25, 2018, at 5:14 PM
  • It will all come out in the wash! There is so much BS on both sides that you can only believe what you know for sure and that is that the democrats have told so many lies about trump and his staff that I just can't believe a word coming from the democrats. Hell, the democrats still haven't seen the last of the Hillary Rotten Clinton/Clinton Foundation scandal that the repubs are bringing on. What a day this is. No country in this world will be able to believe a word of any American, ur I mean any citizen of the United Nations.

Not surprising you heard what the commentator told you to hear rather than what was said.

After all, Mika says their job is to control what people think (people who watch BSnbc).

-- Posted by quietmike on Thu, Jan 25, 2018, at 7:19 PM
  • Sui do you forget Mueller is a republican.Trump succeeded in getting some to believe the media is our enemy and hoping no one believes them.He wants us to believe only the positive ones,if there is any.He is preparing his followers to turn a deaf ear because he knows what he has done and it is coming out.

Now we learn that Trump ordered Mueller fired last June and backed down only after WH counsel McGahn threatened to quit. This shows intent to obstruct justice. We all heard him say to Lester Holt that he fired Comey because of Russian probe. This will be helpful to Mueller.

Has anyone notice that most of those companies giving $1000 bonus(before taxes) is laying off hundreds and closing businesses. So employees be wary you are not one of those getting a pink slip after your bonus.Walmart is giving $1000 bonus for 20 years of service,a meager $50 a year after laying off hundreds, putting more in the CEO's and owners pockets.

It is time for a good house cleaning at FBI and DOJ. Mueller needs to wrap it up, tuck his tail and skedaddle out of town. Maybe he can sip pina coladas with his buddy Comey on a beach in Mexico. At least the DOJ IG is doing some legitimate work on the real Russian collusion scandal. Won't be long before they start dropping like flies.

Looking back now on Nixon and Watergate it's funny how similar the two are playing out.

When the investigation started closing in on Nixon, he fired the Special Prosecutor in charge of the investigation. After that, the Attorney General, and his second in command, both resigned.

Also, just like Trump, here's video of Nixon at his final State of the Union speech calling for an end to the investigation ("witch hunt").

Look for Trump's final State of the Union speech tonight to be very similar again to Nixon's, as he desperately tries undermine the Mueller investigation and somehow stop his imminent demise. https://youtu.be/q6SH5p72Z5E

  • Pretty pathetic when not a single member of the congressional black caucus would get off their lazy a$$es to acknowledge historically low black unemployment. They have good paying jobs working as Uncle Toms for the urban plantation overseers chuckie and nancy, so it's no wonder they don't give a rat's behind about the rank and file black people. It is a little surprising more black people don't see this, but Stockholm Syndrome can be hard to recover from. Thankfully, more are recovering as time goes by.

Do political attack ads influence votes?

Of course they do. Why do you think millions of dollars are spent on them every election cycle.

Vladimir Putin and the Russian government hacked into to the U.S. electoral process and engaged in a influence and smear campaign to harm Clinton and help Trump. They also wanted to delegitimize and undermine public faith in our democratic election process and make us a laughing stock around the world.

    They succeeded.

Fair, President Obama took the black unemployment rate from 16.5% to 7.8% and handed that over to Trump.

Under Trump it continued to drop 1%, and Trump now wants to take credit for record black unemployment when he actually did nothing.

The black caucus wasn't falling for it.

But I'm sure all black people that read your post will be enlightened on your perspective of the African-American experience.

I mean, who would know better than an old conservative republican white dude.

What news was reported by Pravda or any other Russian source? Was CNN hacked when they showed video of Hillary being pitched into the back of a van like a sack of potatoes?

As for black unemployment, again as with the poverty rate, what did Obama actually DO to lower it?

-- Posted by quietmike on Wed, Jan 31, 2018, at 4:01 PM
  • The black caucus did not stand up because it was Obama who brought black unemployment from 16.8 to 7.8.When Dump took office it was 7.8 now it is 6.8 whoop dee doo a whole point.Quite what did Dump do to lower it?Republicans are afraid of Dump and they know they had better stand and applaud. That is why so many of them are running scared and leaving.

Last night was The Lie about the Union.Dump is probably fuming because ratings were down millions from Obamas address. But I forget he thinks ratings are fake unless they favor him.

He also lied about legal immigrants not being vetted.Does he thinks Melanias extended family who came here by chain migration should go back.

Seems Dump asked Rosenstein for loyalty and if he was "on my team",sound familiar. He asked McCabe who he voted for, meaning he will get rid of anyone who does not like him or did not vote for him or will testify against him.

  • So the republicans want to release a non-factual document about the FBI,but Devin Nunes made material changes to it before WH viewing. So the republicans are willing to destroy the FBI because a paranoid president thinks everybody is out to get him. They are willing to protect the president at any cost and not the country or the constitution.Dump thinks this will clear him in the Mueller case if he fires and attacks his own Deputy Director of FBI.He wants Rosenstein gone and Wray will be next. This will go on until he finds some one who is "loyal" to him and fire Mueller and make this investigation go away.If these same spineless republicans had been in office during Nixon's era they would have looked the other way.

  • I'm a little confused. Maybe some of the deep thinkers on the left can enlighten me. Both Rv and unreal seem to agree that black unemployment has dropped 1% under their President Trump. Better than it was under the bum. Yet they refuse to give any credit to Trump. Are they really stoopid enough to think Trump hasn't helped the country economically including the black community? Or do they realize the truth but are unable to publicly acknowledge it because of Trump Derangement Syndrome? Could it be one of each? And if it is, which one is which?

Fair, it doesn't really take a "deep thinker" to figure it out.

President Obama handed Trump a booming economy. Under Obama the economy had just gone thru 7 years of record job growth.

Now in Trump's first year, job growth has actually slowed down a bit adding around 30,000 fewer jobs. Unemployment rate stayed exactly the same, and the black unemployment continued to drop a little slower also at just 1% in Trumps first year.

And he's acting as if he did something amazing.

It would be like if you walked into a room where someone had spent days putting together a complicated jigsaw puzzle. You walk up and add the very last puzzle piece, then tell everyone..."Hey, look what I did!!"

  • I could easily be wrong but has any President given credit to the administration they replace for improvements gained during their first year in office?

-- Posted by stevemills on Thu, Feb 1, 2018, at 6:42 AM
  • No, Steve, not that I can recall. But bummer perfected the art of blaming the previous administration for his own failures, even well into his second term.

Well, RV, I gotta agree with you. Trump was handed a booming economy. But it was only booming the last quarter under bummer. Even with the post election Trump bump, the previous administration couldn't eek out a single year of 3% GDP growth. No other President can say that. Even the one termers. Another distinction for the bum is overseeing the slowest economic expansion. What a historic president we had. Being the eternal optimist, I hold out hope that this year the film will fall off your eyes and you will finally see how wonderful our economy really is right now. On the other hand, the realist in me doesn't let that hope get too strong.

By massive cuts to regulations and putting corporate tax rates more in line with the rest of the world.

But don't take my word for it, listen to the companies who are hiring more people, giving raises and bonuses, and investing billions who cite the tax cuts as the reason.

Here's a list of 239 companies saying just that, most with links to the press releases where they give credit to the tax cuts.

    https://www.atr.org/list

Completely shocked that neither LBR or RV could name anything obama did to improve employment, since they're positive he should get the credit.

  • Quite can't give Obama credit for unemployment rate going from 9.6 to 4.9 while in office but thinks Trump should have all the credit because it went from 4.9 to 4.3.Everyone knows Trump was handed a good economy except for his sheep.Trumps policies did not even take effect until months after he took office.

Sure Trump cut regulations for cleaner air, safe working conditions and safe water to make his buddies richer. He made tax cuts permanent for his rich buddies but not permanent for middle class. That $2 extra they take home now will not last.

Mikey, The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that Trump's first year of jobs growth was below President Obama's last six years.

    By about 30,000 jobs.

So, those "massive tax cuts" took us to a six year low in job growth. Yay!

President Obama implemented a number of important fiscal measures that brought our economy out of The Great Recession that Bush handed him.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and the highly successful rescue of the American auto industry alone created millions of jobs.

I was sad to hear about the trash truck driver that was killed by the GOP train crash.

But at least now it's official....The Republican Party is literally a train wreck.

The auto bailout was wasted money. GM and Chrysler took it, Ford didn't and they all ended up in the same condition.

With that said, considering all the Kennedy-esque foaming at the mouth about a president trying to take credit for what his predecessor did....

Fair, kinda funny you'd automatically assume that a hard working, blue collar, middle class truck driver would be a Democrat. But if the initial GOP train impact didn't kill him, they could have always just taken away his health insurance. You're right, the Trump train got him. But he was probably screwed either way.

Mikey, I notice you totally bypassed the topic of jobs creation and job growth and deflected over to unemployment rates. I'm just surprised you didn't somehow bring it all back around to Hillary's emails somehow.

    You're losing your touch.

Also, when Bush allocated that 17 billion from TARP to keep the auto industry afloat, it was basically just a band-aid that kept things going for another few months. But that was a good thing, and I'll give Bush credit for getting the ball rolling.

But after that it was up to President Obama to take over the job of saving the industry altogether.

And republicans fought him every step of the way.

I'll have to be honest, I had never heard of U-6 unemployment rates.

After reading your post I see it pertains to part-time employees.

Now I know you like to berate my logistical prowess, but let me try this anyway....If President Obama dropped the "actual" unemployment rate from 9.6 to 4.8, is it possible that "part-time" jobs lost employment because those employees were now working full-time?

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Thu, Feb 1, 2018, at 3:19 PM
  • RV, I assumed he was a democrat because he was sitting somewhere he shouldn't have been, possibly to avoid working while still collecting a check, and not paying attention to what was going on around him.

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Feb 1, 2018, at 3:21 PM
  • RV,

U3 unemployment is the number most reported as it's the "official rate". The U6 numbers include u3 but also includes people not actively looking for work (discouraged workers) and those who are working part time jobs, but would rather be working full time.

As such u6 gives a more complete look at real unemployment and underemployment.

    For your question,

If President Obama dropped the "actual" unemployment rate from 9.6 to 4.8, is it possible that "part-time" jobs lost employment because those employees were now working full-time?

The 9.6 number is from the u3, and doesn't include part time workers, so no it wouldn't.

Also remember during that time, obamacare came on the scene and encouraged employers to move people from full time to part time to avoid having to pay for obamacare.

The link I posted earlier is for u6 numbers and includes people who are forced to work part time.

Ok, so U3 is the official unemployment rate.

And President Obama dropped that rate from 9.6 to 4.8.

And according to the chart in your post, he also dropped the U6 rate from 16.7 to 8.6.

    What was your point again?

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Thu, Feb 1, 2018, at 4:11 PM
  • I guess scrolling back up is too difficult.

    --------

In 2009 the U6 unemployment rate was 14%, by the end of 2009 it had grown to 17.1%.It stayed above 16.5% during 2010, and didn't start consistently falling until 2011.

Once again, nothing obama ACTUALLY DID helped unemployment. Just like the other socialist, FDR, obama's policies made the situation worse.

Ok Mikey, exactly what legislation did the republican "do nothing" pass that lowered unemployment and turned the economy around under the Obama administration?

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Thu, Feb 1, 2018, at 10:29 PM
  • RV,

As I've said before multiple times, the economy was artificially low during the recession. Everyone knew it would come back. The only question was, would it be left alone to do so. Obama and Bush both prolonged and deepened the recession with their bailouts and similar legislation.

When the repubs took control of congress, they curtailed (but not nearly enough) the out of control policies obama was trying to implement. Once businesses and investors saw the rules were returning to normal (no more too big to fail), they did what they do best, went to work making more money, and the economy followed.

That is the entire problem of keynesian economics. It pretends people with money keep it in piles at home. That's why you hear nonsense about "multiplier effects" of redistribution.

Wealth that isn't invested stagnates due to our inflation under keynesian economics.

So the question becomes, who is better at investing money and making it grow and work, a government over 20 trillion in debt, or people who have "too much money"?

The free market provides its own checks and balances without interference. Businesses who want maximum profits are countered by customers who want the best bargain. The only "downside" is if a customer isn't intelligent enough to look out for their own interests.

Even monopolies stand no chance in a truly free market as all someone needs to do is opening a competing business with better service, products, and/or prices.

In fact a monopoly cannot exist without a complicit government who stymies competition.

From the Hudson Bay Trading Company to Exxon/Mobile, every monopoly has a government writing laws, regulations, or tax codes protecting it.

    So, you're answer is.....nothing.

The republican "do nothing" congress that you want to give credit to for somehow turning the economy around did absolutely nothing.

President Obama's economic policies that were implemented are what did it.

In your long winded, rambling response you couldn't list one thing, one piece of legislation they wrote, or one thing they stopped Obama from doing.

He passed The Recovery Act, he continued the bailout to save the auto industry, he passed Obamacare, infrastructure, etc.

Sitting around with your thumbs up your a$$ is not the answer to help any situation in a time of crisis.

Pink slips are going to happen regardless. As I mentioned, mine was not totally pink but it sure did not make things Rosy, BUT things are not like we "perceived" back when my parents worked until retirement and got their pension.

Listening/reading many comments about what many (not all) outspoken persons think of employers, what they can do, the evils of company ownership, etc. makes me wonder if I should open a discussion about that. Whatcha think?

-- Posted by stevemills on Fri, Feb 2, 2018, at 9:32 AM
  • "Don t just stand there, do something." Sometimes that is ok or even good advice, RV. But an awful lot of the time, especially when it is the government that is doing something, the much better advice would be "Don't just do something, stand there.". If only FDR had been able to follow that advice instead of listening to his commie buddies, the country wouldn't have needed WW2 to pull us out of the depression. The fact that Congress tapped the brakes with bummer let the economy start to heal itself. I would have thought by this stage of evolutionary progress we would be beyond the idea that more government is better. But I guess Darwin still has some work to do in getting rid of the unfit. Starting to think he is getting lazy.

Ok Mikey, so to sum things up.

President Obama is handed the worst economy since The Great Depression when he takes office.

He immediately takes steps and implements economic policies to create jobs and lower unemployment.

At the same time the republican congress does absolutely nothing.

The economy goes thru record job growth and unemployment drops to historic lows.

But somehow, in your republican alternate reality, the complete turnaround in the economy under President Obama's policies is actually due to a "do nothing " republican congress that passed no legislation on economic recovery or jobs whatsoever.

Glad we got that all cleared up.

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Fri, Feb 2, 2018, at 2:06 PM
  • RV,

As I've pointed out multiple times before, logic isn't your strength.

Just because two things happened contemporaneously doesn't mean they're responsible for each other.

More simply put correlation isn't causation.

I know dems are terrified if government isn't there to hold their hand at all times, so looking for government to "DO SOMETHING" is their default response.

The FACTS historically show this is often the wrong action.

  • Here is some interesting info about our economy. More specifically about the stock market and national debt. No president has reduced the national debt in my lifetime. That is not likely to change under Trump. The market hit 20,000 at the end of Obama just as the debt hit 20 Trillion.

In fact, according to these articles, if Trump wants the market to hit 30,000, then he will need the debt to hit 30 trillion. :(

We have been inflating the HUUUGGGGGGGE debt bubble for a long time, consuming the productivity of tomorrow, today.

Presenting phony evidence (and unverified dossier compiled as a political hit piece by a foreign spy) to a judge to get a warrant, when you know the dossier is fake, is malfeasance, official misconduct, abuse of process, and when taken with other statements they made about having an "insurance policy" against a Trump presidency it is seditious treason.

Yeah, the anticipated "secret memo" written by Trump transition team member, Devin Nunes, turns out to be another big sham. Imagine that.

The memo focuses almost entirely on FBI surveillance of Trump campaign advisor, Carter Page.

Carter Page is a very shady character that has deep Russian ties. He was a Russian oil investment advisor, lived and worked in Moscow for several years and had been under surveillance by the FBI long before Trump ran for president or there was ever a "dossier" written about him.

U.S. intelligence had concerns that Page was possibly a Russian spy.

Which brings up a bigger question...why would Trump hire the guy?

So to try and claim FBI bias for using the "dossier" to get a FISA warrant against Page is a false narrative.

The FBI had FISA warrants and surveillance on Page for three years prior.

Another thing, this is not even the first time Devin Nunes has produced a fake "memo" or information.

He was previously forced to recuse himself from the intelligence committee and put under an ethics investigation for trying to produce false information about President Obama having Trumps phones tapped. Remember that charade?

The FBI had Carter Page under surveillance before he joined Trump's campaign team.

And they had FISA warrants on him before the Steele "dossier" was written.

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Sun, Feb 4, 2018, at 8:28 PM
  • LBR,

The memo was about using a phony dossier to get a warrant to put trump under surveillance. The initial application for the FISA warrant happened under obama's "leadership".

Unless you thought Trump was referring to obama himself going to Trump Tower and installing a "bug" himself (and you would be the only one in the country who does), this memo shows trump was bugged by obama.

Mikey, several things wrong here in your false analysis.

First, you say a FISA warrant was issued to put Trump under surveillance.

That never happened. The person under surveillance was Carter Page.

And you keep going back to the "phony dossier" as the reason for the FBI putting Page under surveillance, but FISA warrants have been used to put Page under surveillance for three years prior to the "dossier", or him joining the Trump campaign.

Carter Page is an extremely shady character that has been under investigation for years. I find it very strange that republicans are trying to portray Page as this innocent American victim of civil rights abuse, and our top law enforcement agencies as the bad guys. Do you really think that the FBI had Carter Page under surveillance for all these years because they knew that someday he might work for Donald Trump if he decided to run for President?

Another thing the Nunes memo says is that the initial investigation into the Trump campaign/Russian collusion case came from Australian intelligence about secret meetings between Russian officials and Trump team member, George Papadopoulos.

So, the "dossier", or the Nunes memo, have no effect on the Mueller investigation.

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Mon, Feb 5, 2018, at 8:12 AM
  • RV, if Page was a spy from '13, why wasn't he in jail? And if the Federal Bureau of Intimidation thought he might be this time, why did they have to mislead (at best) the judge in order to get a warrant? All those in DOJ and FBI involved in turning the guvment into a political arm of the DNC and cliton campaign, including comey and rosenberg, need to be fired and sent to jail. I just have to wonder how big a coniption fit the left would have had if they found out W orchestrated, or allowed, the DOJ and FBI to use the weight of the government to undercut b o's candidacy then attempt to overthrow his government. Too bad we will never know about that.

Fair, and here you go again, just like Mikey, going back to the "dossier" as the reason for FISA warrants on Carter Page. How many times must this point be made. Carter Page has been under FBI surveillance, with FISA warrants, since 2013!!!!

How can you keep saying that surveillance on Page was politically motivated, or Judges misled, when surveillance began on him before the dossier was written or Trump ever ran for President????

Why Carter Page is not in jail is irrelevant. It's possible the FBI was gaining more intelligence by just keeping him under surveillance the last several years.

He had once boasted that he was a personal informal advisor to the Kremlin.

So for the last time (hopefully), The FBI didn't "mislead" anyone for a reason to investigate Carter Page. And they didn't rely on a dossier for a warrant they had obtained three years beforehand.

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Mon, Feb 5, 2018, at 10:33 AM
  • Ok, if they had warrants from years back, why bother to go get another one? Oh, yeah, because they have to keep proving to the judge that they really "need" to keep spying on an American. But this time they used the dossier as evidence. But they failed to be up front with the judge about the dossier being a product of collusion between the cliton campaign, the Russians, and b o's justice department with a former British spy as a go-between. If you honestly can't see that the previous administration was spying on Trump and using the weaponized DOJ to alter the outcome then subvert the implementation of the election, then bravo to the deep state for a job well done. They have you right where they want you.

  • Fair and quite do you have a problem with the democrats memo being released,if so why?Why would Trump have a problem with it also. The FBI learned more by letting the rat run free. Why did Trump hire Flynn or Page after being warned about them?Everyone should be concerned about what Page was doing no matter if he worked for Trump or Obama.Republicans were more upset over Michelle Obamas lunch program than they are about Russians hacking our elections and Trumps 19 sexual assault cases.Republicans can over look Trump's vulgarity, lies, sexual assaults on women, abuse of power, collusion with our enemies etc but can't overlook Obama for being Black.

  • LBR,

Why did dems lie (funny I know) and say releasing this memo would threaten national security?

Why only now are they saying more needs to be released?

The simple facts are that a crime has to have actually happened for a special counsel to be appointed. There was no evidence of any crime, just crybaby dems who couldn't accept that their pre-ordained queen couldn't win a rigged election, even when she cheated at every opportunity and outspent her opponent by double.

First claims of "election hacking" with no evidence, which quickly went away.

Then "collusion" which isn't a crime.

Now, dems are hanging their hopes on an obstruction charge.

Think about that, obstruction of an investigation of no crime.

I know for a fact there are at least 50 (probably more) different shades of grey. Bummer could have been pink, purple, or whiter than rice and that wouldn't have made a hill of beans difference in how he was received by this country.

Go ahead and release your memo. If you want to share our deep dark secrets with Russia and the world at the risk of shaking the Republic to the foundation then be my guest. I'm assuming yours has those things in it since they ended up being left out of the last one. Unless you think embarrassing the FBI for getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar is a national security concern.

I guess you missed the part where Hillary and the DNC paid a foreign spy to create a fake dossier to sway the election?

There is no argument that this didn't happen, yet dems ignore the reality right in front of their faces to chase imagined boogeymen.

Speaking of boogeymen, it's pretty rich for you to feign indignation about questioning the motives of law enforcement, when you've spent the last few years on these blogs claiming cops are racists just looking for an opportunity to gun down some poor black kid.

You just can't make up that level of hypocrisy.

Fair, to have the FISA warrant renewed, the previous warrants on Carter Page would have to have proven to the judge that they gained information and evidence on him.

The dossier itself, if it was used, could not alone be enough for a judge to order the warrant.

If Trump supporters seriously think that propping up Carter Page as some poor innocent American citizen, and portraying our FBI and DOJ as the bad guys will work out for them...good luck with that. I suggest you do some research on your homeboy Carter Page.

See how his resume stacks up against Bob Mueller.

Mikey, you claim there is an investigation, but no crime?

  • RV,

Again we run into your issues with logic and reading comprehension.

Scroll back up and read slowly (seems like we keep having to do this) where I said for a special prosecutor to be assigned, there has to be a crime.

There was no crime when he was appointed.

Dems just wanted a fishing expedition in the hopes of finding anything to avoid admitting their candidate was so completely inept she couldn't win a rigged election

That's why the narrative evolved from election hacking, to collusion, and now maybe obstruction.

If you can, name the crime that warranted appointing a special prosecutor.

-- Posted by quietmike on Mon, Feb 5, 2018, at 4:46 PM
  • To recap for those with selective memories.

Hillary rigged the primaries against Bernie Sanders, possibly breaking campaign finance laws in the process.

Even DNC leaders admit this happened.

    https://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/how-hillary-clinton-rigged-the-dem...

Bernie supporters have filed a class action lawsuit in Florida over her cheating.

Hillary rigged the debates, with Donna Brazile giving her the questions in advance, yet still got trounced in the debate.

    https://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/donna-brazile-hillary-clinton-leak-regret...

Hillary paid just shy of 10 million dollars to a foreign spy to create a fake dossier to smear Trump during the elections. She laundered the money through a law firm to try and hide it.

Liberals are unhinged claiming Trump somehow cheated to win (with no evidence whatsoever) yet conveniently ignore their anointed queen unquestionably did exactly what they're claiming Trump did.

The best part is Bernie would in all likelihood have beaten Trump like a rented mule.

But in true liberal fashion, instead of looking inward to see the failures, it just has to be someone else's fault.

Mikey, for a guy that seems to pride himself on his logic and reading comprehension, you sure get confused easily.

The definition of a Special Prosecutor is - A lawyer appointed to investigate, and potentially prosecute, a particular case of suspected wrongdoing for which a conflict of interest exists for the usual prosecuting authority.

For example, the investigation of an allegation against a sitting president or attorney-general might be handled by a special prosecutor rather than by an ordinary prosecutor who would otherwise be in the position of investigating their own superior.

Notice that it says "investigate, and potentially prosecute, suspected wrongdoing".

Where did you get the idea that someone has to already be charged with a crime before a special prosecutor is appointed?

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Mon, Feb 5, 2018, at 5:33 PM
  • Boy, RV, that conflict of interest part sure sounds funny. Surely that doesn't apply to Mueller, does it?

-- Posted by fair share on Mon, Feb 5, 2018, at 7:22 PM
  • Can't think of a crime, so changing your argument?

In your own post.... a particular case of wrongdoing(ie crime)

Let's look at a regular prosecutor. Bob Carter is the district attorney for Bedford County. Do you think he spends most of his days actually investigating allegations of crimes?

No he doesn't. Local police do the investigation and give his office the case to handle. If there is a conflict with him prosecuting a case, a special prosecutor is assigned.

On big felony cases, there will be back and forth between the DA and police, but try going to the DAs office and accuse someone of some nebulous something, with zero evidence and see how much investigation they'll do for you.

The first special prosecutor, Archibald Cox was appointed to investigate the Nixon administration's involvement in Watergate, but in that case an actual crime had already been committed.

Special prosecutors "investigate" the involvement of participants of a crime which has already happened, when there is a conflict with the regular prosecutor. They are not anglers looking for a fishing expedition.

So, the question still stands, what was the original crime warranting the appointment of a special prosecutor?

(Particular means specific, so thanks for the confirmation while I wait)

Mikey, you can't just pull a false narrative out of your a$$ and then demand reasoning.

The fact is that nobody has to have been charged with a crime before a special prosecutor is appointed.

I don't know if this is something somebody told you, or you just dreamed it up yourself, but it's just not true.

I realize facts do have a well known liberal bias.

Watergate isn't "the first" time a special prosecutor has been appointed.

They've been around since the 1870's and are appointed to investigate "suspected wrongdoing".

I noticed that you left the word "suspected" out when you referred to the original definition.

    Nice try.

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Mon, Feb 5, 2018, at 11:23 PM
  • Particular case of suspected wrongdoing.

Suspected because under our system, we are all innocent until proven guilty... well unless you monkey stomp the annointed one.

It's good you went to Wikipedia and copied what they said, it would be better if you actually could read and comprehended what was being said.

Particular still means specific, so still waiting for you to name that crime.

Odd you're having as much trouble doing that as you do naming a democrat policy not based on freebies and eschewing responsibility.

But, then again, liberals despise giving direct answers as their ideology isn't based on logic only feelings.

Mueller was appointed Special Council into the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 elections.

The "fishing expedition", as you call it, has already produced a few trophy sized fish.

Trump's former campaign manager, his foreign policy advisor, and his National Security Advisor have all been indicted. Two have already pleaded guilty. Quite the "fishing expedition", and Mueller has even bigger ones on the line. Just slowly reeling them in.

What's really funny is that Mueller would never even have been appointed Special Council if Trump wouldn't have fired Comey for not pledging loyalty and ending his investigation into Michel Flynn.

But Republicans welcomed Mueller when he was first appointed.

Republican House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Jason Chaffetz said, "Mueller is a great selection. Impeccable credentials. Should be widely accepted."

    Republican Senator Orrin Hatch said,

"I commend them for bringing in an independent voice to help bring clarity to this situation."

House Speaker Paul Ryan said that he "welcomed the role of Special Council Mueller."

Republican Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio -"The issue of Russian meddling in our election must be investigated fully & former FBI dir. Mueller is well qualified to oversee this probe."

You see...Mueller was a life long Republican that was appointed by George W. Bush. As Trump would say, they all thought Mueller was "on their team".

Then when Mueller started handing out indictments, Republicans were shocked.

They were like..."Holy $hit, this guy is actually going to do his job!"

Trump originally said he'd talk to Mueller. Of course now that's changed.

I hope he does refuse. Then he'll have to face a Grand Jury without his lawyers sitting beside him telling him what to say. Things are about to get real interesting. Grab some popcorn.

But as the Trump administration continues to crumble, they resign, they're indicted, pleading guilty, heading to federal prison, what you're hanging you're hopes on are prank phone calls and pointless text messages.

  • Do you try to sound like a dumba$$, unreal, or does it just come naturally? No one is surprised Trump won't release the demorat memo. Of course, if little adam stiff didn't pack it with methods and sources, you could be reading it right now. Well, at least you could be looking at it. You people need to quit playing games.

Steve, the left has 7 more years to sling their mud. Unless they collectively (they like that word) stroke themselves out.

How many more shady folks will be wrung out of the WH before people realize that the one at the top sets the tone for character in the workplace?

  • Trump spends all his time at Mar-A Largo and has not visited our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, but he thinks he deserves a military parade.A majority of troops are against being put on display for his ego. Will someone give this man some plastic tanks and toy men so he can play soldier?

We have had 11 school shootings in 1 month and no word about this from Trump or visits to schools to console families. He only tweets about a shooting if it is done by an immigrant or a muslim.

-- Posted by lets be real on Sat, Feb 10, 2018, at 8:52 PM
  • More hypocrisy from the left (big surprise).

In 2014 Chucky Schumer was all for a military parade to honor our troops and nary a mention of the costs, or putting troops on display for someone's ego (who was president then?).

-- Posted by quietmike on Sun, Feb 11, 2018, at 7:09 PM
  • But there was no military parade, this came from fake fix news.Schumer was not president, did you hear Obama say he wanted a parade. We have under paid military, homeless and sick vets that could use these millions.Draft dodgers do not deserve a parade.

So Dump says "lives are being destroyed and shattered by mere allegations".All he has to do is check police reports to see these are not "mere allegations".Porters wives have a few of them on file.Does he think their lives are not ruined, one of these punks beat his wife in front of their child.

The Shummer comparison is a false equivalence. It's almost like finding a old picture of President Obama at a Veterans Day parade and saying..."See! Look at that, Obama likes military parades too!"

Shummer was suggesting a welcome home ticker-tape parade for soldiers returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Trump's parade is just an egotistical show of force, no different than the North Korean's goose step marching thru town with tanks and planes.

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Sun, Feb 11, 2018, at 9:33 PM

  • Quite why do you always address Trumps wrongs with what someone else did? Two wrongs don't make it right. Then you must agree with Trump when he stated he never asked God for forgiveness because he thinks he is never wrong.

Take our country back is code phrase for Make America White Again.

It only took Dump 1 day to call Putin about the Russian plane crash, but has never contacted families of some of our fallen soldiers for condolences.

  • LBR,

I've adressed that very plainly. It points out your, and every other liberal's, blatant hypocrisy and faux indignation.

If you have a problem with a military parade because of the cost or the statist aspect of it, then it shouldn't matter who is proposing such a parade.

If you'd simply be honest and say you hate the idea of a parade because Trump (or any non-democrat) proposed it, instead of raising objections that are easily seen as absurd, then you could avoid being a hypocrite.

Ignoring the fact that once again your response is a brake slamming, steering wheel snatching veer to change topics, lets take a look at how we've "progressed" as a country.

In the 1950s and 60s one of the biggest concern about teenagers was the effect of rock and roll music.

Today we've "progressed" to the point of having a serious discussion of making laundry detergent less visually appealing so teenagers (not infants) will be less likely to eat it.

    Way to go "progressives". (rolleyes)

  • So if Trump believes in "Due process" when is he going to apologize for tainting a jury for the Central Park 5.He paid $85,000 to run ads in 4 Newspapers in NY calling for the death penalty to be reinstated to execute these teenagers.Even after they were exonerated in 2002 after spending years in prison he said in 2016 that they are still guilty. As he said about his abusive friends,"these mens lives have been shattered".He only thinks Due process applies to white males of his party that support him.Hypocrite.

He is not even man enough or can not bring himself to say in public that abuse of women is wrong,so he sends out Sarah Huckabee "Slander" to say it for him. What does she tell her children after she stands at that podium and lies everyday. Is he paying her enough to sell her soul to satan.

-- Posted by lets be real on Mon, Feb 12, 2018, at 10:05 PM

Accepting the verdict of a jury and not rioting in the street like animals and burning dowm your own neighborhood?

    LBR,

Is it possible for you to make any comment without demonstrating your hypocrisy?

Hypocrisy...like when Trump defends the actions of Roy Moore, Bill O'Reilly, or Roger Ailes, but condemns Senator Al Franken and Rob Porter.

Due process for some, not others.

Accepting the verdict...Trump called for the execution of 5 teens, but DNA evidence exonerated them.

    Trump still said they're guilty.

I remember watching video footage on the news a couple weeks ago of a riot in the streets. People tipping over cars, breaking windows,....oh wait, that wasn't protest about a senseless killing, it was just sports fans celebrating...nevermind...nothing to see here...move along.

Mikey, how can you even talk hypocrisy and keep a straight face?

Trump's own republican FBI director just spilled the beans on Trump and the WH.They knew in March of last year about Porter's abuse and not only kept him on at tax payers expense but was ready to promote him to Deputy Sec without security clearance.John Kelly has just ruined his career and lost all credibility.Lets see who they will push out at todays press conference to lie to America again.Sarah Huckabee"Slander" is the best at lying and calls herself a Christian.

-- Posted by lets be real on Tue, Feb 13, 2018, at 1:37 PM
  • I keep a straight face by admitting I think democrats are entitled whiny losers only looking for freebies and avoidance of responsibility. I've said that very thing for years on these blogs.

I don't pretend I dislike democrats and/or their policies for any other reasons. Ergo no hypocrisy.

FWIW-I don't think repubs are a whole lot better, but they are "some" better. This isn't high praise, as democrats are worse than any thief you'll find in the blotter in this paper. At least the thief has the gumption to get off his rear end and try stealing on his own, dems simply vote for their thievery to be done by proxy.

-- Posted by quietmike on Tue, Feb 13, 2018, at 1:42 PM

  • LBR,

It's getting old having to hand-hold you through every discussion.

The question and my answer was about hypocrisy, and how to avoid it.

As far as Trump's verdict, of course I'll accept it. The great thing about the investigation is the more they dig, the more they show just how corrupt democrats are.

-- Posted by quietmike on Tue, Feb 13, 2018, at 3:37 PM
  • If the investigation is showing how corrupt democrats are why is it republicans that are admitting guilt and getting indicted.

Sarah Huckabee "Slander" really out did herself today, she contradicted herself from yesterday. She looked broken today, maybe lying to cover Dump is finally getting to her.

    First it's RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA!

When that didn't gain traction it's RACIST RACIST RACIST!

All while Trump is cutting taxes, cutting regulations, deporting illegals, cutting the number of government workers, etc.

Trump is playing chess, doing what he was elected to do, while dems are playing tiddlywinks and picking at their toes.

Now he's going to send packaged food to snap recipients instead of cash.

BTW-The treasury took in a record amount of revenue in January, after the tax cuts.

-- Posted by quietmike on Tue, Feb 13, 2018, at 10:40 PM

Yes Trump has been real busy abolishing clean air, clean water and cutting taxes for the rich.

Keep believing the Russia investigation is gaining no traction quite.Trump staff indictments so far 4-Obama indictments 0,Trump scandals so far to many to count-Obama scandals 0.

BTW today democrats pick up state house seat in Florida district won by Trump.Looking good dems keep getting people out to vote.

  • LBR,

Trump gave condolences to the people of Florida.

You might try getting news from other places.

We can't control it because dems hate responsibility so much they can't even attach responsibility in situations such as this.

It couldn't possibly be the fault of the retard pulling the trigger? Many who knew this turd said they were not surprised by his actions.

Prior to the 1980s we locked away nutbars, but bleeding heart democrats said that was heartless, so now they roam the streets, often homeless, and dems still whine that something should be done.

This school was already a gun free zone. Already had locked down doors and a surrounding fence which required outsiders to be "buzzed in".

We need to let teachers and school administrators carry weapons. We need to hire retired/former military and police to guard schools. We need to move away from the liberal teachings of avoidance of responsibility.

  • I made a mistake about 12 school shootings this year,it is 18.After a moment of silence in congress this will be forgotten. It will not stop unless it happens behind the walls on congress. They probably already called the NRA to tell them business will go on as usual just keep filling our pockets.Rubio already said it is to early to talk about guns.If this is called mental illiness, look to the ones who cut the funding for that.

Just saw that 130 WH staffers still has no security clearance still after a year. Some of these are top assistants close to Trump handling top classified material include Ivanka and Jared Kushner,McGhan and Sarah "Slander".And to think Trump screamed about Hillary emails for a whole year.He knew this and kept these people on these jobs. This is a national security threat.

Four times, a bullet was fired through a school or dorm’s window: on January 4, a gunshot was fired at a high school in Seattle through an office window; no one was hurt. On January 10, a shot was fired shattering a California State University classroom window. No injuries were reported. The same day, in Texas, a bullet was accidentally fired through a classroom wall at the Grayson College Criminal Justice Center. No one was injured. On January 15, a bullet traveled through a residential hall’s dorm room. No injuries were reported.

And neighboring Indiana(about a 3 hr. drive)has some of the most lax gun laws in the country.

It'd be like banning guns in Nashville, but you could buy as many as you wanted in Memphis. And then people in Nashville saying..."We just can't figure out where all theses guys are coming from".

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Thu, Feb 15, 2018, at 6:44 AM
  • While we are banning things, let's also ban pens and pencils for making dumb@sses fail tests. No need to hold the actual responsible party responsible for the action they take. To tell you the truth, I am somewhat shocked and surprised, yet very pleased, that none of my guns have ever discharged a single projectile without my direct control and consent. It is a shame it doesn't seem to work like that for everyone. But I'll tell you what. The very first time one of them does, I will punish that sucker for being a menace to society by melting it down myself.

  • RV,

What's the murder rate in Indiana?

Nothing close to Chicago, you say?

Guess it isn't a gun problem.

This cat in Florida was expelled from school for threatening students and the school sent an email out saying that he wasn't allowed on the property with a backpack. Sort of a red flag.

The FBI was notified about him LAST YEAR when he posted on youtube that he wanted to be a professional school shooter, but the FBI was too busy chasing down phantom Russian hackers.

The school in Florida had security, but they were unarmed (que the "I'm not a security guard, I'm a security monitor commercial).

After all these glaring personal failures dems still try to pin the blame on an inanimate object.

It is basically just a handgun that is longer in the front and longer in the back. And if you want to let 18 year olds buy beer, I'm with you. Let's let them buy cigs and MJ also. With such hypocrisy, its no wonder LBR looks up to him.

Let's try the angle you don't understand hypocrisy despite your fluency in practicing it.

Hypocrisy means advocating one position publicly while privately doing the opposite. Maybe you've heard "practice what you preach"?

Obama, who cried crocodile tears said the children of peon serfs weren't deserving of protection by armed security, while his children were more heavily guarded than your average bank.

OTOH, many in congress, and most people with fully functional brains, advocate arming teachers and/or having armed security at every school, so if they have their kids in a protected school they aren't hypocrites, since they are doing what they advocate.

Hope this clears things up for you.

Wow, the fact that a Trump loving, red M.A.G.A hat wearing, possible(but not yet confirmed) white supremacist, gun-nut just committed another one of the worst mass shootings in our history sure has you guys scrambling to somehow point the finger to someone else.

So far Mikey's blamed the FBI, Planned Parenthood, Obama, Democrats...what's next, Hillary's emails?

Mikey, you love to talk about personal responsibility...well then, own up.

A white, racist, red M.A.G.A. hat wearing, Trump supporter with a AR-15 just murdered 17 innocent school kids and teachers.

    Those are the facts. Sorry.

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Thu, Feb 15, 2018, at 8:21 PM
  • Actually, RV, the blame should be on Cruz, and Cruz alone. The rest is just yapping for yapping's sake.

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Feb 15, 2018, at 9:32 PM
  • RV,

You're reading comprehension deficiencies are showing again.

I didn't blame any of those. I said since dems abhor assigning personal responsibility and were desperately trying to blame something other than the shooter, maybe they could blame them.

The very last sentence of my last post before yours....

Instead of searching for some outside influence to blame, why not assign personal responsibility to the person(rhetorical question as we all know the answer)

  • It seems Rick Gates is close to plea deal with Muller.Gates ran Dump's campaign and knows everything. Why would anyone need a plea deal for a "witch hunt"?Maybe he can tell us where the millions of dollars went left over from Dump's inauguration.

Dump's Chief of VA and his EPA director is in hot water for using taxpayer money to take lavish personal trips and spending. What is cast of characters, the WH is imploding.

Dumps WH budget cuts funds for school safety.

I believe the only thing that kept the gun bill from passing yesterday in Tenn was the shooting. The bill would have allowed handgun permit holders to carry weapons anywhere in Tenn.

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Feb 15, 2018, at 9:52 PM
  • Sure would have been nice to have a permit holder in Florida.

I personally know several permit holders that might seriously have troubles with the operation of a Phillips screwdriver.

    Your answer is "more guns".

You think taking us back to the days of the Wild West, where everyone walks the streets with guns on their hip, will actually cause less shootings?

That didn't work in the 1800's, and it certainly won't work now.

  • From reports on National news this morning there were NUMEROUS indicators that this person needed law enforcement and possibly mental supervision. 39 domestic violence calls to his previous residence? Multiple pictures on social media of him with guns and saying he wants to be a professional school shooter?

The people who took him into their home and knew he had weapons in their gun safe, AND had the key, were either totally clueless of his past or totally reckless with their family and loved ones lives. Their bleeding hearts cost others their lives and I am surprised it did not cost them theirs. Might have if he had not been caught.

Among all the other laws on the books, apparently there is not one that allows law enforcement to remove weapons from his control or ban other sales to him. When someone makes such blatant statements of violence, they need to be heavily censored and monitored if not hospitalized for evaluation by a realistic mental health professional, not a bleeding heart.

And now his lawyer is saying he is distraught, remorseful, blah, blah, blah. We need to "lose" his name and stop fueling other psychopaths with news coverage.

Talk about the lives lost, the heroes, the mourning, but we the public do not need to know how he used the system to get the kids out of their rooms and coming to him. Don't say how smart he is, just LOSE him.

Empower, encourage and demand law enforcement to take action on these guys before they can live out their threats. If we step on some civil rights, have oversight to temper it, but DO SOMETHING.

  • We can start with using the millions Trump cost America at Mar-A-Largo every weekend and use that for school safety instead of cutting funding.Lets see if he looks these parents and survivors in the eyes and avoid mentioning guns and give words of comfort to the NRA.All those teenagers speaking out and demanding change will soon be voters, they will change America. Will he mention he signed a bill to allow mentally ill to buy guns and cut funding for treatment for them. That is the one bill he signed that WH refused to let America see him sign and still refuse to allow us to see. They admitted there is video tape.

Exactly, Steve. We will continue to have problems like this even if they TRY to take our guns away as long as the bleeding hearts have trouble with that pesky little problem of personal responsibility. Maybe if they ever get finished nitpicking everything Trump does or doesn't say and do they could find the time to work on the idea of personal responsibility.

Steve, I agree that this kid should never have been able to have access to the weapons he had.

Unfortunately, as lbr pointed out, one of the first things Trump did when he took office was to sign a bill blocking Obama-era background checks on guns for people with mental illnesses.

It's hard for law enforcement to do anything about nuts like him buying assault rifles when it's perfectly legal for him to do so.

If possible, could you start a new blog about this topic?

-- Posted by RocketValentine on Fri, Feb 16, 2018, at 10:27 AM
  • RV I had a blog written but it took off here so I let it be. But “you asked for it” (remember that show?) so I will extrapolate the comments here and give it a new blog.

  • The abosulte stupidity/dishonesty/ignorance of a couple of our liberal posters would be amazing if it wasn't demonstrated so often.

The obama measure about "mentally ill gun purchases" was not that at all. It put people on social security disabilty, who used others to manage their benefits, into the NICS database, preventing them from owning a gun. "Managing their benefits"could be using a third party due to financial inexperience of the person on disability.

This obama move was so onerous, even the ACLU spoke out against it.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2017/02/20/gun-control-congress-aclu-edit...

Perhaps RV or LBR could explain how they think this action would have made one scintilla of difference in the Florida shooting, since Cruz wasn't on SS disability, nor was ge using a third party to manage his affairs?

The FBI admitted they did not investigate a tip LAST YEAR where Cruz posted on his youtube he was going to be a professional school shooter, even though his screen name was his ACTUAL NAME,and his videos showed his image very clearly. Nevermind the IP address.

    https://nypost.com/2018/02/16/fbi-failed-to-investigate-tip-on-school-shooter-la......

Once again we see what happens under idiotic liberal ideology where it's urged we turn over our most basic rights (self defense) for the government to manage.

I hope RV and LBR feel a twinge of guilt, since the system they advocate caused the mass executions of 17 innocent people who were sitting ducks waiting for government intervention.

    Tell us about that.

Compare the number of murders in the US where CCWs are common vs. not common.

    https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jul/14/murder-rates-drop-as-concealed-ca...

During the last few years, a record number of guns have been sold, with each year surpassing the last. Meanwhile, the overall murder rate drops. In 2016,it was at a 51 year low.

As usual for a liberal, RVs argument is not based on factual data but emotional hysteria.. You want it to be like the wild west?!? OMGWTFBBQ!

  • Trump is hiding out at Mar-A-Largo instead of visiting with the families of victums at funerals and rallies today.I know he went to the hospital and police station but that is not enough. He can't face those families.

If strict gun laws don't work someone tell me how is it countries with them have less mass shootings?Such as Australia has not had one since 1999,Japan had none and Canada only had 3.And don't tell me you can kill as many with a hammer, knife are vehicle as you can with a rifle that can kill dozens in a minute. Our founding fathers did not intend for us to possess guns made for military killing.

Unreal, our founding fathers intended for us to possess what was needed to protect us from the government, which means military.

  • LBR stupid,

Repeating arms and even machine guns predate the constitution by about 80 years.

Once again, you should at least try to educate yourself before speaking from ignorance.

-- Posted by quietmike on Sat, Feb 17, 2018, at 4:02 PM
  • Quite since you have to call people stupid maybe you are the stupid one since the constitution was ratified in 1788 and the machine gun was not invented until 1884.Maybe you should" educate yourself before speaking from ignorance".

Instead of Dump consoling families in Florida he is sitting in his mansion there tweeting about the Mueller indictments clearing him. This is just the social media portion of the probe, wait until we get to the email hacking and Dump Jr's part in it.The "Russian hoax" excuse wont work anymore.

  • LBR stupid,

The puckle gun was invented in 1718.

-- Posted by quietmike on Sat, Feb 17, 2018, at 8:49 PM
  • Puckle gun. Interesting.

-- Posted by stevemills on Sat, Feb 17, 2018, at 9:10 PM
  • People could not just walk around every day with a puckle gun on a tripod.

-- Posted by lets be real on Sat, Feb 17, 2018, at 10:10 PM
  • No one said anything about walking around. The claim which has been proven is the technology existed prior to the founders. So claims that the founders only meant muskets is yet more liberal made up BS.

People also couldn't walk around with warships or cannons, but private citizens owned those during the founder's time as well. Congress granted those folks letters of Marque and Reprisal to get citizens to use that weaponry in defense of the country.
