  • "Dickens" is an euphemism for the devil. I think it comes form one of Shakespeare's plays; it may have been used earlier. If I remember my college course, it was used in "Merry Wives of Winsor."

    I like your irises; I have some the same color but mine may be a bit darker (it may be the lighting making a difference).

  • Thanks Tyger. Inserting Devil would make sense.

    I have a few darker Iris but need to start getting other colors. These came with the house 25 years ago.
