  • I didn't see anything that stated anything about it being a Quantum Computer. That is suppose to be the biggest and fastest computer system because it is several computers connected together with all doing separate calculations then feeding the answers back to the main computer. There is no waiting for answers. No matter the problem, a computer for each problem etc.

What's missing in their new AI computer? GOD, No Soul, No Spirit, No Morals.

Artificial Intelligence? How is that different from Fake News? Where will this AI Computer get it's intelligence? Google, Facebook, Wiki Leaks, Holy Bible or straight out of Hell from Satan? Just asking!

  • What sui is talking about is parallel processing, and it has been going on for years. It is what made the Cray a super computer.

"Fake News" is only news that Trump doesn't like; if he likes it, it isn't fake news, even if it is Fake.

-- Posted by Tyger on Sat, Dec 1, 2018, at 9:19 AM
  • All the fearful speculation about the dangers of AI reminds me of the time period when we were preparing to explore outer space. Anyone else remember all the wild speculation about the dangers of leaving the planet that fueled the Twilight Zone and various horror movies?

-- Posted by lazarus on Sat, Dec 1, 2018, at 10:24 AM
  • Huh, if it wasn't for Fake News, I guess I would have never even heard of Quantum Computing. Not interested in Ai and Quantum Computers so no desire to google.

  • From what I understand, (which can easily be scrambled) this will be closest a human mind in the way it “thinks”.

It is a curious question sui poses. The closer we get to human thinking with AI how will it look at our complex world? Will it even try to evaluate humanity and all the complexities and values that a real human mind considers?

Maybe it will not be tasked with emotions, moral decisions?

-- Posted by stevemills on Sat, Dec 1, 2018, at 12:48 PM
  • Think about it!

We have conservatives and Liberals. Constitutionalist and Communists! Common Sense or the Democrats.

AI would be something the Democrats would create to get more votes.

But whose brain will they use as a starting point? We could be in real trouble if AI are allowed to exist.

There is no way they could create a Sui Kool Aid Brain.

-- Posted by sui on Sat, Dec 1, 2018, at 3:30 PM
  • Interesting story, Steve. Did you notice They hope to learn more about the human brain by studying a machine They built to mimic the way They think the brain works? But then that is academia for you. Too much time in their world, not enough time in the real world.

Sui is right about what is missing. Call it what you want: soul, spirit, mind, heart, humanism. They can make AI to somewhat mimic HI (human intelligence) but they won't duplicate it.

I don't think we are doomed to have a robot uprising. But it wouldn't hurt to have some insulated gloves in case you need to cut their power cord.

Tigger, your HI might benefit from some AI. It reminds me of the Z1, or maybe on a good day the ENAIC. Some words might be hard to define but some are fairly easy. And you just totally missed the landing on "Fake News". Fake news has nothing to do with whether or not Trump likes it. Fake news is the incessant spewing by the MSM of downright lies, twisted partial truths, and sometimes just made up things they pull out of their as~ coupled with non coverage of accomplishments a lot of us appreciate. Not with the intent of informing the public of the truth. But with the intent of trying to make us believe the narrative they are trying to push. They have succeeded in fooling a lot of people into believing Trump is Satan incarnate.

  • Speaking of the news media and social networks, I am pleasantly surprised at how kindly they are remembering George HW Bush. I expected more side comments.

It ain’t over til it’s over but I have not run across anything yet. Kind of nice.

-- Posted by stevemills on Sat, Dec 1, 2018, at 9:42 PM
  • I've seen a little coverage on Fox which seems reasonable but haven't bothered checking the coverage on other networks. Guess it shows they can be decent and fair when they choose to. Enjoy it while it lasts.

-- Posted by fair share on Sat, Dec 1, 2018, at 11:45 PM
  • Have you ever noticed in the movies or TV about AI running amok that they could have solved the problem by pulling the plug, but never think of it.

If fake news is the spewing of downright lies, twisted partial truths, and fabrications, then Trump is the embodiment of "Fake News."

Fairshare and sui seem to be as delusional as our President.

I've watch several different media outlets and they've all said nice things about 41, but most of it seemed to be for things before and after he was elected President.

-- Posted by Tyger on Sun, Dec 2, 2018, at 8:42 AM
  • There you go again, tigger, misusing words. But I guess in your world, the ability to see what is in plain sight is delusional. And anything related to Trump is bad. But that is what happens when you go thru withdrawal and can no longer chow down on the raspberry gelato flavored shi! that so freely flowed out of 1600 PA Ave up until 2 years ago.

-- Posted by fair share on Sun, Dec 2, 2018, at 4:58 PM
  • Tyger,

Just what has Trump done to You? I know the MSM speaks of evil things but they are just telling people what they are like.

Did Trump body slam you at a wrestling match? Did Trump Grope you? Did Trump talk Hateful or vulgar to you? Did Trump say something racist to you? Did Trump Bully you when you were trying to grow up? I never heard Trump slam you or your name or your relatives. Did Trump get all up in your ***?

Just what is it that you people hate Trump, yet tell us everyone is suppose to love your neighbor, just not Trump?

Does the fact That GOD has appointed Trump instead of you, upset you? Do you think you are smart enough to do a fraction of the things Trump has already done in his first two years in office.

Did Trump tell you a bunch of lies to deceive you?

Trump has to lie about some things because he has to stay way ahead of the Deep State or he is dead. He doesn't want them knowing what he is doing to them until it's too late.

I am watching Trump very closely and I have to laugh at how stupid the deep State is when it come to out smarting Trump. You people think he is stupid but he is a genius.

Even I know what Trump is doing some of the time but the democrats just don't get it. They walk right into his trap every time. You sound like one of those people.

Just think, if you listen to the Fake News all the time, that is all you are going to know. You have to look at everything if you want to broaden your mind.

Maybe you should pull the plug and start all over again.

I personally liked George H W Bush, but I know too much about him and the Deep state. John F Kennedy Jr. Knows all about him also.

It's not my place to say anything, but it will all come out.

When you elect someone to drain the swamp, all you can do is sit back and watch what comes out of the swamp. I told everyone that they will be SHOOKED to see who is doing what when it all come out and many people are going to need mental help to cope with it. Thousands have already been arrested, but we are not hearing about it yet.

  • I would wager that Karl is out there lurking and may be getting close to blowing a fuse. With the hope of preventing that, I propose we get back a little closer to topic.

Steve, what do you think about the idea of backing off on the idea of artificial intelligence and concentrate on fixing natural stupidity?

-- Posted by fair share on Mon, Dec 3, 2018, at 10:15 PM
  • Is it natural or the result of societal stupidity?

-- Posted by stevemills on Tue, Dec 4, 2018, at 7:09 AM
  • I've always heard that you can't fix stupid, but it would be nice if one could. I expect that the reason you can't is that the other is too stupid to listen and learn.

-- Posted by Tyger on Tue, Dec 4, 2018, at 8:54 AM
  • Duck tape can help. At least it can muffle the sound. But, tigger, you are almost right. As you know, many people choose to close their eyes and ears so they don't learn. That is called ignorance (the lack of knowledge). It can be fixed if you can convince the lib to use their ability to learn. Stupid, on the other hand, is the inability to learn (the lack of the wherewithal to obtain knowledge).

Good question Steve. The old nature vs. nurture debate. As we all know, it is no particular person's fault. It is society's fault. Therefore society should fix the problem. Just like everything else. Bazinga! Just kidding.

Seriously, tho, it is some of both. There are some people who by the luck of the draw will always be stupid no matter what anyone does. But the majority of stupidity (really more akin to ignorance) is societally imposed.

But it all comes back to personal responsibility. It is in large part due to parents abdicating their responsibility to raise their children. They let the state babysit the kids from preK to adulthood. And that almost guarantees their indoctrination into self-imposed stupidity.

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Dec 4, 2018, at 10:15 AM
  • Take, for example, the darling of the dimwits, alexandria ocasio. She thinks the Pentagon somehow lost or misused $21T. And if we can get that back we could pay 2/3 of free healthcare for all (or 100% of the national debt). Anyone with half a brain and just a little bit of walking around sense should know DOD hasn't had that much cumulative budget in their > 200 year history.

And next month she gets to vote on laws for the whole country. After her inauguration, she will be signing them too. Lol.

She has a bachelor's degree with a minor in economics from Boston U! The education system has too take some blame for this. But this case is so egregious we can't just blame society for her. We have to accept that she has a significant portion of plain old stupid.

And the really scary part is that the dimrats have put ao and people like her at the tip of the spear they are aiming at the heart of America; and there are enough stupid/ignorant people out there believing their hogwash that we really are in danger.

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Dec 4, 2018, at 1:25 PM
  • Stupid used to cure itself through darwinism. But some bleeding hearts thinks it's medieval to allow people to accept the outcome of their decisions, so now we have warnings that coffee is hot, not to lean aluminum ladders against high voltage lines, and other nonsense to protect the stupid.

Remove the warning labels, and everything will sort itself out again.

  • What about a post discussing all the uproar surround old songs like Baby It’s Cold Out There, sung by a who’s who of singers. And I heard something about Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer being a no no now.

-- Posted by stevemills on Tue, Dec 4, 2018, at 10:01 PM
  • Pretty much the same thing, weak, helpless people only kept alive because of a suspension of reality. When people say they're offended, what that means is they can't control their own emotions, and they want everyone else to make concessions, so they won't have to try.

Nevermind how completely spoiled one has to be for a song to be the biggest complaint in life.

-- Posted by quietmike on Wed, Dec 5, 2018, at 6:50 AM
  • Right on, quietmike. It takes a special kind of perversion to twist cherished children's shows and Christmas songs in order to be offended by them. Even tho I can't carry a note in a 5 gallon bucket, I would sing Baby It's Cold Outside until I was hoarse if a snowflake was around.

The overwhelming majority of people in the world would jump at the chance of having life so good that they can concentrate on which Christmas shows and songs they want to be offended by.

Here is an idea for the overly offended: turn off your tv and radio. Or better yet, don't put these things on your playlist. You are totally free to watch and listen to whatever you want to (except child porn). Guess what? SO AM I!

If you turn off your tv, radio, and playlist, and quit being such a negative Nelly, you might just have time to help make this country better. But since they won't do that the rest of us need to stop fighting darwinism and let nature take it's course.

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Dec 5, 2018, at 8:32 AM
  • I'm surprised that "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" is still being sung. They ought to have that animal charged with felony hit-and-run. Or least, let us BBQ him. LOL

  • Hopefully they won’t get people fired for “bringing home the bacon”.

I would love to be become predominantly vegetarian but I have not found a good solution.

Did you see the guy who dressed down like turkey somewhere in New York? Twenty eight degrees and he curled up like a turkey on a cutting board.

If those were real turkeys next to him he was either small or they were HUGE.

-- Posted by stevemills on Thu, Dec 6, 2018, at 8:38 AM
  • Speaking of Baby It's Cold Outside, I would think that the chronically offended could find something a little better than a classic Christmas song to be offended about. Do they really think the guy who wrote it 74 years ago was singing the praises of Bill Cosby and slick willy? Now the PoundMeToo people want a 3/4 century old song banned because the woman made excuses for staying later, including her suggestion to imbibe; and even though the outcome is left to the imagination, the only one being held accountable for their actions is the guy. If something "bad" happened, it is purely in the mind of the beholder. And that tells me all I need to know about the offended.

    “bringing home the bacon”

    Posted by stevemills

Come on Steve. You know better than that. Whatever you sing/say/think is wrong. And it is your fault. At least according to some. But my 2nd favorite Ammendment is the 1st. My 1st favorite is the 2nd.

  • Will not saying "kill two birds with one stone" make even one bird live 5 seconds longer?

    No it won't.

Once again, gluten terrified soy boys have to invent something to be offended over.

-- Posted by quietmike on Thu, Dec 6, 2018, at 3:35 PM
  • You know that there are two versions of that song; one sung by a male and one by what's-her-name. So, one can be offended by the other side.

-- Posted by Tyger on Thu, Dec 6, 2018, at 7:24 PM
  • I think more than a few women have sung it and one version rather recently. This running in fear at every gripe about PC has really gotten old.

-- Posted by stevemills on Thu, Dec 6, 2018, at 9:20 PM
  • Baby It's Cold Outside has been recorded about 50 times in the past 74 years. The great majority are duets with a guy and a girl. Interestingly, it was written by a guy for him and his wife. They sang it at cocktail parties.

People who get butt hurt because I don't PC the way they want me to better get the 5 gallon tub of bag balm at their Sam's Club.

-- Posted by fair share on Fri, Dec 7, 2018, at 6:48 PM
  • OK. I guess I thought you were referring to some actual event. I haven't seen anyone complaining, except ya'll... and QM, I haven't forgot. But it will take some thought, and work comes first.

Stations have actually banned it because some people think the woman in the song should join up with PoundMeToo. Even though she keeps hanging around while saying she has to go. Interestingly, she is the one, not he, that suggests the drink. Which is louder, actions or words? But of course the revisionists now label the guy as a date raper.

Lazarus, it is some actual event. The struggle is real!

-- Posted by fair share on Sat, Dec 8, 2018, at 1:48 AM
  • Thank you, fare. I had no idea what was the source of all this angst. I have to tell you, I hate Christmas music. And, I never realized "Baby it's cold outside" was Christmas music? Nor did I have any idea what the lyrics were. So I looked it all up, and apparently "someone" complained to one radio station in Cleveland, and they temporarily removed BICO from their playlist.... Until an uproar made them realize that the vast majority of people thought that was stupid. It was stupid. This was not "liberals". Half the country is made up of "liberals". Apparently they thought it was stupid, too, because there was no "controversy". Almost everyone said to put the song back on. One station each in Denver and San Francisco saw what Cleveland did, and followed suit... only to backtrack in the face of popular outrage... even in San Francisco, the bastion of liberalism. There are 450 million people in America, guys. In case you didn't know, some of them are stupid... well, actually a lot of them are stupid. If you are going to get your nose out of joint every time someone says or does something stupid, your nose is always going to be out of joint. Personally, I just laughed at them and moved on. (Altho I would happily live without Christmas music!)

-- Posted by lazarus on Sun, Dec 9, 2018, at 12:35 AM
  • You're welcome, laz. You are right about Baby It's Cold Outside not being a "Christmas" song. It is no more about Christmas than Jingle Bells, Sleigh Ride, or Winter Wonderland. But, like the others, it has become part of the Christmas repertoire.

The stupid isn't just about BICO. They also rag about the show Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and other Christmas songs. Apparently, RRNR promotes bullying and glamorizes the sadism of the little guy putting teeth into dolls.

Of course this stuff is stupid. It isn't about having disjointed noses. It is about pointing out the stupid and trying to keep it from changing our traditions.

I'm with you about the barrage of Christmas music this time of year. I would add the lights and decorations, commercials, and sales. It would all be much more tolerable if they waited at least until the Thanksgiving leftovers were used up.

Lots of stores have Christmas in July sales. Even the old time radio channel on Sirius (148) has a week of Christmas shows in July.

Christmas has become way too commercial. By the time we get to 12/25, it is more than just a bit anticlimactic.

-- Posted by fair share on Sun, Dec 9, 2018, at 6:33 AM
  • OMG,

With all this talk about Christmas Music and that old ancient song "Baby it's cold outside", I have to rush out and buy up a copy if it's still available, No wait, I should just order it from Ebay or Amazon so I don't have to go out in the cold outside.

Wonder what the Me-2s would do if everyone started buying up the song? The MSM and Social Media is in enough trouble with Trump without getting involved with the Me-2s.

-- Posted by sui on Sun, Dec 9, 2018, at 11:02 PM
  • Shame on all of you!

Christmas is all about the children. Let them enjoy something good in life before reality hits.

-- Posted by sui on Mon, Dec 10, 2018, at 12:00 AM
  • And all this time I've thought it was about the birth of Jesus Christ. Silly me.

-- Posted by fair share on Mon, Dec 10, 2018, at 7:58 PM
  • No, fair, is was all about the Song - "Baby it's cold outside" that has nothing to do with Christmas or Christ. It went into commercial business then to children believing in Christmas.

How did we get to that point from Artificial Intelligence?

I personally would love to see a match between Trump and their best "AI" computer. My money would be on Trump!

It's like Funding the Border Wall!

It's already been done and congress isn't smart enough to know Trump has already gotten the Funding from Congress.

    Trump is a Genius.

The House, which consists of Pelosi and Schumer met with Trump at the White House today to talk about the budget. They didn't want the press there so Trump invited them. He threatened to shut the government down if he doesn't get the funding (which he already has) for the wall.

The craziest thing is. . . Pelosi and Schumer will give him more money for the wall. Trump brought the MSM in to make Pelosi and Schumer responsible for the government shut down.

Again - Trump is a Genius.

I just don't think any "AI" could out smart Trump because it would be thinking logically where Trump doesn't have to.

Watch the Central Bank. It's next!!!

  • fair share, I know what your thinking, but your wrong!

When exactly was Christ Born? Can you prove it?

Are we only suppose to worship Jesus' Birthday on Christmas?

Are we only suppose to worship Jesus on Christmas?

Are we not suppose to worship Jesus everyday?

Doesn't Jesus live inside of us?

Isn't our body the Temple of God?

Does not the Kingdom of God dwell within us.

Isn't Christmas several days out of each year?

Did you forget about Christmas in July for the people who live in the southern hemisphere who celebrate Christmas in June, July, or August when it is cold and snowy in the south?

Is Christmas in June, July or August about the birth of Christ in June, July or August?

Do you worship the Birth of Christ or the Death of Christ, or the Cross, or the Resurrection of Christ or the ascension of Christ?

Christmas didn't even become a federal holiday in America until 1870.

Christmas is the spirit of love and giving. What is more christmasy than giving joy and happiness to children and those who need help or love.

He has so much on his mind now with his friend David Pecker flipping on him along with his financial advisor. Pecker has offered up his Dumpty safe of dirty deeds to prosecutors. Dumpty was in the room when the deal was made to pay off these women to keep this quite before the election so as not to hurt his chance of winning. Dumpty and his kids used money from their organization to pay them off right before the election and they are all in big trouble. That is a campaign violation and does not fall under paying your mistress. This is just the tip of the iceberg, more is coming.

A genius would have got Mexico to pay for the wall. That was his big campaign promise.A genius can spell and knows the constitution,Dumpty fails on both.

  • lets be real,

Where are the indictments? Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Trump misspells words - so the Deep State and the Democrats will make fun of his misspelling and not read his message Trump sent to the world. They have no idea what Trump is doing to them!

What better way to get the Fake News to retype Trumps Tweets exactly as he posted them without changing the wording.

Trump gets his messages in the World News and it didn't cost him a dime and they print it exactly as it should be printed.

The deep state and democrats don't read the message. They are only interested in the misspelled word.

Moral of story - Trump got the Fake News to post his Tweets just as he wrote them. It isn't Fake News when he puts misspelled words in his tweets. They post the truth and don't even read it to see what the truth is.

Sometimes he uses a stupid word out of the clear blue sky, justto get his post published word for word with no Fake News included.

    Trump is a Genius! (LMAO)

Has anyone put a dollar amount on what NOT having adequate border security has cost us over the last 8 years? Is there a number to put to all the anti-Trump efforts going on now? Lawsuits, investigations, etc.

The only one profiting is the press. The American people sure are not.

I knew there would be great “weeping and gnashing of teeth” about Hillary/Democrats losing but I underestimated it.
