The post about what should we do was getting too long to scroll through. I don’t mind this post develops its’ own direction because I don’t know what is on your mind, have at it.
I will start off with my opinion about all the “laws” or movements wanting to remove sexual identity from birth certificates, or reference to the sex of a person in government communications. BALDERDASH!
We automatically think California with this kind of thing and specifically San Francisco. Well, they are in it but so is Illinois and New York. I believe the name du jour is non-binary meaning they either do not identify as a male or female, or they have both male and female tendencies.
I don’t doubt there are a few folks out there who might have their genders in question but what do you think will happen when a baby is born and he or she is not given a sex designation on their birth certificate? We live in a vastly predominate female/male world so until they decide for themselves what they are, why stack the cards against them with uncertainty from the start?
How are police reports going to accurately describe a suspect. A non-binary, non-racial person with long brown hair (can they say brown) about 5’2” (is that prejudicial against shorter people) etc., etc. Sound absurd? I agree!
