Some people will never forget. Sadly, however, some will never know. And as the generations pass there will be more and more who don't know.

  • I was stationed aboard a ship home ported at Pearl Harbor circa 1957-1960. There was still ship wreckage in the channel entering Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona had part of it's super structure above water.

  • That had to be a chilling reminder to all who passed Carl. Thank you for your service.

  • It was a gruesome and heart rending sight. Of course the USS Arizona is now covered by a Memorial. Most people probably don't know that still entombed in the Arizona is near half of all casualtys of the raid and in my day the superstructual visible above water was a constant reminder of that terrible fact.
