On to week two....
Posted Monday, August 17, at 9:37 AM
Wow what a crazy last week with the start of school. All went well with the kids end but man I think I was tested beyond any other test I have been given.

We were rezoned for a new school which I might add has been a wonderful thing, the kids love the new school! The pick up and drop off has been great!

My first year in Shelbyville I traveled to 3 different schools for 4 children to attend. Last year I was lucky to only have to go to 2 schools for 5 children! This year I think I won the lottery, 1 school 5 kids, I do not think it could be better!

Now if only I can get a grip on things! Yeah I know 5 kids is a lot of paper work and usually I am very good at keeping it all straight. Well this year is not going good, I am sure the staff at the new school is really hoping my kids can focus a bit better than I have been able too, haha.

I sent lunch money with my daughter that is in 3rd grade, in an enveloped labeled with her name, 1st grade, and the name of the teacher in her brother's homeroom teacher (which is in 8th grade) on it. Thank goodness my children have learned to double check my work or my poor baby might not have gotten lunch! Remedy for this I asked them to fill out their own envelopes and I will provide the money! Note to self do not fill out papers in the morning!

Then I was filling out the packet of papers, you know the stack you get the first day of school, and totally messed up on a couple of them. So I had to bust out the white out, something I have not used in forever, but thank goodness it is still around! Got everything fixed and just hope that the school can figure it out if they find other mistakes that have gotten by me and my proof reading crowd, surely hope that we got them all before arriving at the school though.

Ok so a few crazy mistakes on my part could be worse I guess. It makes it great that all the kids love the new school, yep even the 7th & 8th graders. This change could not have been better for us. It would of been great if it was this way a few years ago, but better late then never!

I am sure we all go through different obstacles with starting school and would love to hear some of yours. Hopefully you all can laugh at my lack of being prepared and focused, as I believe that is one big thing they try and teach us in school. I figure if I volunteer some more at the school I will learn that simple task again!

On a last note I saw a shirt that stated "Change your thinking, changes your world." I think those are good words to live everyday by.

So we are all busy during the summer and with kids fighting to get on the computer, it has given me less time each day to enjoy the few simple things, like blogging! I did want to take some time to share with you some great websites that I love! First is http://woot.com this site is an everyday must! It displays 1 item each day, it is an overstocked item that is reduced to almost pennies. ...

When the sun sets...
Posted Tuesday, June 2, at 3:29 PM

Well as I am sure everyone can relate that life does not rest until way after the sun has set! Thank goodness for the beautiful weather we been having and the loads of energy I gain from that! I have been told I suffer from SAD (Seasonal affective disorder) so when the sun is shining I am up and about all day and pretty much all night long! I also run around with my head chopped into pieces but yet still carry on with a smile and feel like I have done something that day!...

The Greenway in Murfreesboro.....

Wow it was beautiful today. The river was flowing nicely, there was enough water for some people in canoes to enjoy it. I am sure the fish were biting. The sun was bright, the sky was blue and all the trees were green. It was a picture worth a thousand words just with in the 3.5 mile trip along the path I went...

My poor Car....

So this evening as I was picking up my son from a friends house, I came home to find that my front fender of my car had been dented. I have no idea how this happened, only a time period of when it could have. I do not recall hitting anything or anyone being close to my car while I was not around...

Time for Snow!
Posted Friday, December 7, at 10:34 AM

I lived in Reno, NV for about 5 years which I would rather not remember for a few reasons! But one thing I miss seeing is the snow falling. I surely do not miss shoveling, chaining tires, being cold all the time and kids out of school for a month with only a days notice...
