Message BoardPosted Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at 8:48 AM
I am wanting to start a message board for Mom's with children still at home for those that live in and around Shelbyville.
Is there anyone that can help me out with links to free message boards, letting people know about it, ideas on what I should have on the board. If you think you got an idea to help I am sure its a wonderful one and please let me know. Also feel free to post if you already know of a group here in Shelbyville. Thank you in advance for your help! Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I don't know of any message boards locally operated for mom's but I do know of a fantastic set of boards on babycenter.com. The ladies there are great. Sign up for an account, let them know how old your children are and they will hook you up with mom's with children the same age. Or any other group you could imagine. Give em a try www.babycenter.com
You might consider Google Groups or Yahoo Groups. Although there are some online bulletin board systems that are nice, I think the benefit of Google or Yahoo is that they are relatively flexible in terms of letting people choose how to read the messages -- go to the site and read the messages, get each new message e-mailed to you individually, get a daily "digest" of new messages e-mailed to you, or follow new messages in an RSS feed reader.
Our corporate offices in Missouri have talked about adding some sort of message board capability to our newspaper web sites, but I have no idea when and if this will happen.
If you want something strictly local, I may be able you do something on the mybedfordcounty.com site
