I am back!!Posted Monday, May 11, 2009, at 11:16 AM
Mr. Q-pid
Just a quick recap of what I have done over the past year! Wow and what a year it was! My grandmother passed away in June of last year. I took a 2000 mile road trip with my brother back to California for the funeral. There are no words that describe how that trip went except very very long. But we both survived and I helped get my brother and mother back on speaking terms, Ok well honestly I just put them in the same location at the same time they did the rest! I am glad they were able to start building a relationship after 4-5 years of not speaking. After driving to CA I drove up to Ohio to drop my brother off at home and pick up my niece and nephew for the summer! Was I crazy? Probably. Am I still crazy? Pretty sure the answer is YES! Ok so most of you know if you read my bio that I have 5 of my own children, yes they are all still at home the oldest being 13! So yes I was crazy to add two more kids! But it was a once in a life time opportunity and we did everything you could imagine! It was a bit of a challenge having a couple kids from a totally different home life with us for 6 weeks. But we all survived and for the most part of it we all learned a bit about life along the way. I am looking forward to sharing with you some of the great places we went here in Middle TN! The last major thing that happened this past year was I got my new car! Every bit of it was an eye opener for me but has been great! First off it has been my dream car since they arrived on the streets of Europe in 1997, it took over 10 years for them to arrive here! I put in a reservation for one Jan 08 and got to pick mine up Feb 09. So a little of a year wait and it was well worth it! But the true eye opener for me was getting the loan and insurance. Here I am 29 years old and have never had a car of my "own" never carried my "own" insurance. Before I had mentioned to the insurance person that I never owned a car (that was mine, the others I drove were my husbands and dads) then it made my insurance drop like crazy. They thought I just let my insurance lap which would cause it to be around $2000 to insure my car for 6 months. Wow I was almost in tears, no in fact I was in tears thinking there is no way I can get my car because the insurance would be way too high for me. But we got it all figured out and get to enjoy my car with no worries! Well that is just a brief history of what you all have missed, I hope you all enjoy everyday that you wake up breathing! Life is too short to let the little things in life take over, so enjoy each day with a smile. I hope that with some if not all my blogs you will be able to laugh and smile. Until next time... Welcome Back
Your car is too cute isn't that a Smart car?
What do you haul 5 kids around in? Certainly not the Smart Car :) Lol. Welcome back.
wow that is a tiny car... cute as a button though.
what size engine do those have??
I was in Germany in '03 and saw the Smart car there. i thought it was so cool. I hope you enjoy it. Do a blog on how you like it after you have driven it around Shelbyville for awhile. I would like to hear more.
Yep it is a Smart Car!
The kids get to ride in the old beat up van that is still hanging in there! A few rare times they get to ride in the Smart car, one at a time!
It is a 70 cubic 3 liter engine, full gas powered (I get asked that alot!)
I look forward to posting more about it now that I am finally getting out of the car once in a while to work at the computer!
Its great to be back!
