The Greenway in Murfreesboro.....Posted Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 1:25 PM
Wow it was beautiful today.
The river was flowing nicely, there was enough water for some people in canoes to enjoy it. I am sure the fish were biting. The sun was bright, the sky was blue and all the trees were green. It was a picture worth a thousand words just with in the 3.5 mile trip along the path I went. Beauty was everywhere around us and peacefulness was at our finger tips. Every bit of it was a picture I will remember for a long time and count every blessing I get to experience that beauty everyday. The cool thing is that for those of you in Bedford Co , there will soon be a closer entrance point. It will go under the Bridge on 99 near Six Flags over jesus (world outreach church) and connect with existing pieces.
The entrance is in the Indian Hills area on National Dr. next to the Murfreesboro City Board of education Building (not the County one, it's further down). The parking lot is behind the building.
It should open very soon.
Ah we love the greenway! We go there to ride our bikes a lot in the summertime.
mmp84 you can access the greenway from many places in the 'Boro.. we take Thompson Lane all the way down and across Broad Street, past Stampede's and the entrance is on the right. We like to go here because it's the beginning (or end) of the trail. You can take the path all the way down or venture off and travel to the battlegrounds. It's a bit of an adventure but the trail is marked so you'll know how many miles you've gone and therefore how many miles you have to travel to get back to your car!
How do you get to the greenway? Where in M'boro is it? Do you walk it or bike it? or either?
I had to run over there this morning to a doctor and was stuck in traffic behind a desiel engine blowing smoke all over me. I couldn't WAIT to get back home to my green grass and trees (and rocks)and birds at home.
