Bonnie and I really enjoy hiking. There are plenty of places in parks around Middle TN and East TN that we can go to for our hiking "fix". I would like some input from readers on what some of their favorite parks/trails are. This is a relatively new area for us and we've hit some of the trails around here so far. We've got plenty of pictures, with plenty more to come. If anyone knows of any good places to go hiking around here that aren't part of a park (but are still legally accessible) please let me know.

As I am sure many will mention in this quest for the uncorporated wild, Rutledge Falls just outside of Manchester is a nice very short hike with a falls that is both breathtakingly beautiful and cold. I also know of a place between Cherokee and Knoxville (somewhere) but can not remember how to get there, as I always go with this one friend who is from there. I will try and get back with you on that.

Pretty much anyplace that you can reach from Bedford County within a decent days drive, I would love to know about. And I know that Manchester is well within that. Thanks, I haven't even heard of Rutledge Falls but thanks to you, and Google, I'm definitely going to be headed there.

Try the Savage Gulf Natural Area in Grundy County, especially Stone Door. For a really good long hike, there's the Walls of Jericho right over the Franklin County line in north Alabama.
