To those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice, Thank You.Posted Monday, May 26, 2008, at 11:17 AM
Arlington National Cemetary
The men and women of the armed forces that have paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms and our way of life deserve no less than a few moments out of our day to remember their sacrifices. As a veteran, and a citizen of this great nation, I ask you to simply think about those men and women. And whatever your national origin, religious belief, political views, or social status that you take a moment out of your day to remember and thank those that have died so that you may enjoy the rights that so many live without. I agree.....this is a day to remember, not celebrate like so many people do. I have a military family and we are still sacrificing for the rights that Americans enjoy everyday. I hope that everyone will take a moment to think about what this day is really all about. Thanks to all who served, my step-dad, my husband, and my oldest son. Thanks to those who are about to serve, my youngest son who is about to leave for Marine Corp boot camp soon and several of his friends. I appreciate the brave young men and women who put their lives on the line while we are here with our families.
Many thanks to those who died, who serve and continue to serve. Thanks also to the families who raised their children to honor and defend their freedom.
My condolences and appreciation to those families who lost their loved ones for this noble cause. This is the very least we can do to honor their memory.
Thanks for writing the post Thom.
