The state of Missouri considers me to be a "threat"...

...and if you're reading this, chances are they consider you one too.

According to a Feb 20th report by the "Missouri Information Analysis Center" people that meet any of the following criteria could be candidates for "militias" or "threats to law enforcement":

People who oppose:

-Gun Control

-Ammunition Accountability Act

-a new Constitutional Convention

-a North American Union

-a Civilian Defense Force (as Obama has said that he wanted)

-abortion

-income taxes

-The Federal Reserve System

-illegal immigration

-RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)

Also, people that support:

-Rep. Ron Paul

-Chuck Baldwin

-Bob Barr

-The Constitutional Party

-The Libertarian Party

-Fundamental Christianity

-The First Amendment to The Constitution of the United States of America

-The Second Amendment to The Constitution of the United States of America

This report, The Modern Militia Movement, lists the preceding factors in whether or not a person could possibly be a supporter or member of a militia (like this is always a BAD thing). I fall into several of these categories and, judging by many of the comments on these blogs, so do many of you.

I'm afraid I'm one of the dangerous ones.

While I love my country and respect the people who lead and protect it,I recognize that they can be as fallible as the rest of us.

Theoretically,we could get taken over by some unwise,not-so-very-nice people.

I'd like us to retain enough wary people to notice and protest when our emperors get nekkid just as they'd raise the alarm when we regular folk become irresponsible and wrong-headed.

I'd like for us to know how to find, recognize and spread the truth and how to fend for ourselves and protect who and what matters to us.

If we have to have a nanny state,I don't want to settle for one that just pulls whatever we order out of a carpetbag.

I'd want one that could help us become self-sufficient,think critically and act responsibly so we wouldn't need observation and repression every minute of our lives.

I'd want one who'd be proud of our being competent adults instead of worrying about being put out of business if we weren't helpless and easily manipulated.

Yes,we need to be vigilant in protecting the safety of our country from terrorists from outside our borders and within, but I don't want anyone to become so afraid of those who would threaten our freedom that they become the enemy they seek to hinder.

Maybe, that snake's supposed to be us and he's giving a warning for oppressors to watch their step.

I find myself casting him as the snake in the garden.

Yes,he has the sharp and toxic fangs but Lady Liberty is no naive girl whimpering as a viper strikes at her heels.

She'll live and let live but those who try and take her down with their poison will have her stomping their heads with her cleats while they blunt their teeth on the steel in her boots.

Her motto is: "Don't start none, won't be none."

Just who would be threatened if she expects the best but prepares for the worst?

I agree, I am also considered a "threat" by these standards but then I Imagine most people in Tennessee and many parts of the nation would be too.

This organization and its study just prove how people with too much time can pander to stereotypes and instigate false notions.

Well i am a threat.I am seriously thinking of getting my conceal carry license. I think every citizen aught to be able to protect and defend their home from criminals.

If they take away my guns, I will use my cast iron skillet.

I will not tolerate some jobless hood breaking into my house to steal my stuff so he can get a quick fix.

He breaks in I'll fix him.

Now, that's good.

I picked up a guy to go to work about 25 years ago. He came out of the house and got in the truck with a big knot on his upper forehead. He had not broke into a home but rather his wife had clobbered him over the head with a cast iron frying skillet for coming home drunk and complaining about what she had cooked.

I was curious who this group was and here is the blip from Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missouri_In...

My main concern is if this is just the start or will this spread to all states. This is very scary.

I may be cynical but one solution I might have for keeping down the bad guys is to make militias mandatory.

If people were required to make their homes secure,be able to defend themselves,be self-sufficient and have a working knowledge of how their government works (at minimum, know what immigrants have to for obtaining citizenship),that would discourage a lot of people.

If the same locally-run groups had to train together and look after their community and do any necessary civil defense/emergency response and charitable acts,it might retain the people who would be useful in a crisis and lose the ones who crave attention and chaos.

If the groups were truly about empowering people (and not pandering to ego and fear),then we could have citizen soldiers who could also handle flood relief or building Habitat houses.

They could provide the sense of camaraderie and identity found within street gangs or goose-stepping government organizations without the blind obedience or the criminal behavior.

Insisting that members be FOR something and not just against, that they be creative and not just destructive, that they be for others more than themselves and that they be about reasoning more than reacting could make such organizations less dangerous to the public and more of a threat to any who might want our people to be helpless sheep or gullible tools.

I'd guess one way of detecting the wrong kind of "militias" would be to see which ones were investing in human capital.

Which ones are working to heal and prevent problems and make their piece of the world a better place?

If all they do is grumble, try to make scapegoats out of other people or manipulate crises to suit themselves,we could do without them.

We could be safer if we had fewer of the flakes, criminals and users but we'd be a LOT better off if we had more of the people who want to be useful and supportive.

Missouri has now retracted this report . . .

-- Posted by jaxspike on Fri, Mar 27, 2009, at 2:24 PM

Yeah, they retracted it after it has already gone out to law enforcement agencies and govenment officials. As their Lt. Gov said, "You can not un-ring the bell."

Anyone else feel like whatever rights we believed that we had as Americans are fixing to be removed from us? :(

Missouri,

I am no threat. What I am is dangerous! I hope you know the difference.

Your truly,

Tennessee

Big Brother is taking away our rights everyday. They twist things around that could be very beneficial to the people and use it to invade our rights , like the medical chips we will have implanted in us when we are having surgery for something. Cellphones must have a GPS technology in them to locate the user or owner.

OnStar Advanced GPSTechnology can not only locate but help recover stolen vehicles by shutting off the engine so the car must stop. Great idea until Big Brother uses it to locate YOU and disable You in your travels.

The the Federal Bureau of Investigation literature states that anyone who stands up for the Constitution is a "Terrorist". And we know where terrorist go to be tortured! Obama said he was going to shut down Guantanamo prison camp, but that was reversed along with everything else Obama promised.

If you try to use your constitutional rights and they come after you as a terrorist, better hope you don't have OnStar on your vehicle or other (RFID) micro-chips.

Even the Farmers and Ranchers in America will have to have chips implanted in their livestock.

There is talk about doing away with the US Dollar and converting to European currency. (That would then be the "One World Currency") Do you see it coming together yet? It is planned for 2010 but 2012 looks more like it.

President Bush said the Constitution was just a God Damned piece of paper. Even Obama made a comment damning the U.S. Constitution. That is the Law of the Land. The Supreme Fundamental Law. Every president and gov employee took an oath to uphold and protect it... but condemn it and deny us our God given rights.

When a foreigner takes the 14th Amendment oath, he/she waives any sovereign rights they may have in their native land and becomes a citizen of the U.S. (Central Government) "and" under its exclusive jurisdiction. These people must purchase licenses and permits to do what we have a right to do according to the U.S. Constitution.

People who think they are patriotic say things like "if you don't like the way the country is being run here, why don't you leave and go live somewhere else". This is so "UN-PATRIOTIC". I say, this is OUR Country, not the Governments. Let the Government go or shape up and respect our Constitution and protect our Constitutional rights like Government was instituted to do!

Our supreme Court gave the following extremely eloquent summary of unalienable rights:

"As in our interaction with our fellow-men certain principles of morality are assumed to exist,

without which society would be impossible. So certain inherent rights lie at the foundation of all

action, and upon a recognition of them alone can free institutions be maintained. These inherent

rights have never been more happily expressed than in the Declaration of Independence, the evangel

of liberty to the people: "We hold these truths to be "self evident" - words so plain that their truth is

recognized upon their mere statement - that all men are endowed" - NOT by the edicts of Emperors

or decrees of Parliament, or acts of Congress, but by their Creator with certain unalienable rights" -

that is, rights which cannot be bartered away, or given away, or taken away... and that among these

are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and to secure these - not grant them but secure them -

"governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the

governed". - Butchers' Union Co. v. Crescent City Co., 111 U.S. 746, at 756-757

And one last item:

National Emergencies Do Not Suspend the Constitution

16 American Jurisprudence 2nd (second Edition) (1979) Section 71, under the subject matter of "Constitutional Law" states this:

"It is sometimes argued that the existence of an emergency allows the existence and operation of powers, national and state, which violate the inhibitions of the Federal Constitution. THE RULE IS QUITE OTHERWISE.

No emergency justifies the violation of any of the provisions of the United States Constitution. An emergency cannot create a power, increase granted power, or remove or diminish the restrictions imposed upon power granted or reserved...The Constitution of the United States is the law for rulers and people, equally in war and in peace, and covers with the shield of its protection all classes of men, at all times, and under all circumstances." L.N. Danzler Lumber Company v Texas & P.R.Co. 119 Miss 328, 80 So 770, 4 ALR (American Law Review) 1669.

"Even a state of war and the declaration of secession by the people cannot suspend the Constitution or remove its protection."

Houston County v Martin, 232 Ala 511, 169 So. 13.

ALSO:

Treaties Do Not Supersede the Constitution (See Art. VI)

"This court (supreme Court) has regularly and uniformly recognized the supremacy of the Constitution over a treaty."

Reid v. Covert, October, 1956, 354 U.S. 1, at pg. 17.

So... in short, no matter what Big Brother says or does, it can not suspend the U.S. Constitution nor our rights, but you must know and fight for your rights. They can not be claimed for you by an attorney.

After reading that list, I see where it could be twisted to apply to any one of the posters I have read on here, and wow some of you would have a hard time agreeing on is it a white cloud or black dirt. In other words that could be applied in some form or fashion to anyone they should choose to use it against.

_______Anyone else feel like whatever rights we believed that we had as Americans are fixing to be removed from us? :(

-- Posted by bcpwoman on Fri, Mar 27, 2009, at 11:34 PM____________

bcwoman, I don't know where you have been for the last several years, remember being told you are either with the president or your against him ? If you don't back him to get out of his way?

And that was just Bush... We have to know he was not the only person ever in office to do crooked stuff that was against the peoples best interest,( he was the most obvious and out in your face about it thus far)

How about the patriot act, and wire taps, computer checks, and the like. And who knows what else that was able to get through in late night meetings before there was the technology we have now to make this stuff more accessible to the public?
