Rotarian Dawn Holley was recognized by the club membership as the "Rotarian of the Year" for 2012. She is awarded this recognition for her dedication to the ideals of Rotary and for her impacting work on behalf of Rotary. She is given a plaque and shown here with outgoing President Bryan Nerren.
Shelbyville Rotary Club welcomed their 2012-13 Club President Jim Troupe (right) as he begins the upcoming year as the Club's leader. Troupe expressed the club's appreciation and gratitude to outgoing President Bryan Nerren for his outstanding leadership during a year of many excellent accomplishments. Nerren was accompanied by his wife Rhonda.
Rotarian and State Representative Pat Marsh was honored recently by Shelbyville Rotary Club for his continuing contributions to the Rotary Foundation's annual programs as a Paul Harris Fellow. Foundation Committee chair Hershel Thrasher awarded Marsh a sapphire pin in designation of the honor.

Neighbors John Owens (left) and Patrick Dunn share a garden. Owens has recently retired, so with his extra time and Dunn's back yard -- and expensive water bill -- they have a very nice garden. The corn in this picture is Hickory King sweet corn that has grown to 12 feet, 7 inches in height. They also planted squash, zucchini, green beans, tomatoes, peppers, okra and cucumbers. Owens claims that they've grown the tallest corn in town so far.
