No one was injured when an unoccupied house burned off Highway 82 East just off U.S. 231 North. Bedford County firefighters from Bell Buckle, Wartrace, Unionville, and the main and hospital-area stations found the home, owned by Christa Gerber engulfed in flames upon arrival shortly before 9 p.m. The origin is undetermined, the BCFD said today.

Publisher Hugh Jones displays the growing number of door prizes for this coming Tuesday's T-G / Relish Cooking Show and Expo. The event returns to Calsonic Arena this Tuesday, Oct 23. Along with the dozens of great door prizes, attendees will experience fun, food samples, and great cash and carry items at the expo booths. Tickets are $12. Tickets are available at the door Tuesday and also at Kincaid Service Co., Lowery Jewelers, the Bell Buckle Café, Walmart customer service and the Times-Gazette office. More than 1000 attended the sold out show in 2009. Many came with family or made it a girls-night-out event. Expo doors open at 4 p.m. and show starts at 7 p.m. Call the Times-Gazette 684-1200 for more information.
