Mark Kincaid presents Sharon Hastings with tickets to the Times-Gazette / Relish Cooking Show and Expo, to be held tonight at Calsonic Arena on the Celebration grounds. Tickets are available at the door. The expo begins at 4 p.m. with the show at 7 p.m.

The Shelbyville Central High School National Honor Society leadership classes recently attended the Friends of the Argie Cooper Public Library Luncheon at the Blue Ribbon Circle. The students were able to hear featured guest Jane Sevier speak about one of her novels.

County Mayor Eugene Ray recently proclaimed November as National American Indian Heritage Month in Bedford County. November became National American Indian Heritage Month in 1990, when it was approved by President George Bush. Eakin Elementary School has spent two weeks in its guidance classes learning ways to respect one another, and what to do when confronted with a bully. This week, all first through fifth-grade classes participated in a contest where they made posters to reflect what they learned in class.
