Every year Southside Elementary fifth grade teacher Lucie Abbott volunteers her time at the annual Southern Festival of Books in Nashville. This year Abbott was able to secure a visit from Gitty Daneshvari. author of School of Fear. The excited fifth graders received a free copy of Daneshvari's book beforehand so they could read it before the author visited. The story is based loosely on the author's own childhood when she had a variety of unusual phobias. She spoke to students about her book this week.

Daneshvari was personable, funny and really related well with the preteens. The author took time to answer questions and personalize and autograph every student's book before she left. Traeonna Benson, Branden Cluckey, Bode Woods, Kalcee Ward and Madison Miller all wait their turn to have Daneshvari sign their copy.
