As part of its new positive behavior program, Shelbyville Central High School has begun naming students of the month. Teachers nominate students who they feel go above and beyond at SCHS, including but not limited to having good grades, trying their best, being kind and friendly, being a helpful and good student, etc. Students win an SCHS T-shirt that features a phrase from the alma mater as well as tickets to sporting events and preferred parking (if they drive to school). The first winners, representing the month of October, are, from left, freshman Lexie Krieg, sophomore Ana Basurto, junior Rami Qattea and senior Bobby Prentice.
