Jay Davis carves a turkey at First United Methodist Church on Wednesday night for the church's annual luncheon and holiday bazaar, a fund-raiser organized by the United Methodist Women. This is the 61st year for the event, which will take place Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The menu has remained the same for decades. Turkeys are sent home with church members to be roasted, and then returned to the church, where various church members assist in carving them. Tickets are $12, available from any UMW member or from the church. Parking will be available at Big Spring Shopping Center, with a shuttle running back and forth from the shopping center to the church. (T-G photo by John I. Carney)
