Town and Country Garden Club held its February meeting
recently at Riverbend Country Club with Nina Lambert
and Naomi Thompson serving as hostesses. The program
on the history and observance of Arbor Day was
given by Chris Carney, area forester from the Tennessee
Department of Agriculture. He was introduced by Naomi
Luna. Floral arrangements were created by club members
to be donated to a local assisted living facility.

The not-for-profit Rural Compassion visited Eakin Elementary School on Friday, and each child will receive a free pair
