Tuesday, May 15 was the Special Education Picnic for the Bedford County School System. The Civitan Club, along with the help of Hazel Gant, organizes the picnic each year. McDonald's donates the burgers and hash browns every year. Walmart Distribution Center sent 10 wonderful people to help with the picnic.

State Sen. Jim Tracy and State Rep. Pat Marsh, both Shelbyville Rotararians, were welcomed to a recent meeting during which they each gave a brief summary of the recently completed legislative session. A balanced budget was a topic of discussion, along with tax cuts, improvements in education and transportation, and the implementation of changes which streamline state government.
