Southside second graders had "Cowboy Day." Students wore cowboy attire, and teachers provided fun cowboy activties for the afternoon. Students rotated to four different stations: Bandana folding with Lynna Miller, Target shooting with Jamie Green, Card Tossing with Jill Rowe and Horse Shoes with Cyndi Crigler. Perseverance was the Super Salamander word for the last nine weeks of school at Southside Elementary. On Thursday, May 17 Harris Middle's National Junior Honor Society inducted it's new members. To be considered for NJHS, students must have a 3.5 GPA each semester and a packet must be completed that explains the ways in which the student has demonstrated leadership, scholarship, character, citizenship and service.
