Seven Bedford County Family and Community Education Club members attended the Central Region Camp held at Tennessee Technology University. They participated in marketable skill classes, a breast cancer awareness program and other educational sessions. Shown are some of the Vietnam Era Veterans who met on Thursday, June 7 at the American Legion Post #23 who were "Mugged." Established in June 2010, the group celebrated their second year. All Vietnam and Vietnam era veterans were given commemorative mugs. These veterans were from Fayetteville, Lynchburg, Tullahoma, Winchester and Shelbyville. Vietnam veterans are veterans who served in Vietnam, from February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975, and veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces -- not in Vietnam -- from August 4, 1964 to May 7, 1975. First Baptist Church of Normandy hosted "A Night with a Princess" at the Bell Buckle Banquet Hall for fathers, father figures and young ladies. This event included a catered meal, dancing, and craftmaking. The purpose of this evening was to connect men of faith and character with the young ladies in our community, showing that the advantages of a positive role model in a young girl's life are simply immeasurable.
