Twice a year Tractor Supply Company (TSC) conducts a paper clover sale and all proceeds benefit 4-H Clubs. This past spring the TSC in Bedford County was named a Class Champion for their participation in the Clover Paper Drive. To receive this award stores had to achieve at least a 15 percent transaction percentage and raise a minimum of $300. The store exceeded this goal and raised $403. From left: Emily Osterhaus (4-H agent), Alyssa Grimes (cashier at TSC) and Janessa Welch (cashier at TSC). This is a nationwide activity but 70 percent of the funds raised locally stay at the county 4-H level. The rest is split between the state and national 4-H programs. In the past two and-a-half years TCS has raised over $1.6 million in support of the 4-H programs across the country. The fall Paper Clover Sale is scheduled for Sept. 19 -- 30. (Submitted photo)
