The Shelby Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution held a grave marking ceremony at the Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg for Marilyn Parker (April 6, 1926-April 18, 2012). Parker joined DAR on October 12, 1964. She held several official positions in the chapter, and was a truly loved member. Pictured from left are DAR Chaplain Roxanna Francesconi, Historian Sherry Sorrells, Registrar Vickie Lilly, Recording Secretary Linda Pitts, 1st Vice Regent Cynthia Ferrell and Regent Dixie Parker.

Morgan Cunningham (left) and Rebecca Marchese (right) were the recipients of this year's Lindsey and Eleanor Hall Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Lindsey and Eleanor served on the Farm Bureau's board of directors for many years, and the scholarship was their way of helping young people further their education. Marty Davis congratulates the winners.

Big G Express, Inc. recently recognized Ashley Walls (left) for five years of dedicated service. The award was presented by Kristi Seibers, V.P. of Safety. Walls and her family reside in Unionville. The company praised Walls for being a valuable asset during the growth and success of the company.
