Cascade's FFA chapter held a flag raising ceremony to remember the horrific acts of terror that took place on Sept. 11, 2001. The officers read the a poem to classmates and teachers that were in attendance. The school's chapter has hit the ground running this school year, having the winning team and individual from the Celebration horse judging contest. Since the Boys and Girls Club of Bedford County opened its doors on March 21, 2011 renovations have been an ongoing project. Bedford County Soil Conservation District supervisors applied for the Resource Conservation and Development Council Community Garden Grant to rejuvenate landscaping in front of the building. The supervisors thought this would be a great way for the kids to give back to the club and play in the dirt.
