This turkey was walking behind the home of Marshall and Jane Lile when it decided it was time to roost and flew up into a pine tree about fifteen feet off the ground.

Jimmy Whorley took the mother of this donkey from some neighbors who are involved in equine rescue. After the donkey was born, "He started following me around just like a dog," said Whorley. The animal, now six months old, is named J.J.
East Side Elementary began this school year recognizing recognizing Students of the Month. These students are present each day, complete all of their class and homework, and exhibit expected behavior. Farmed photos are displayed, the students receive a certificate and eat lunch with the principal and assistant principal. August recipients, with principal Xavier Hamler, are kindergarten, Adrian Silva-Madrigal; first grade, Britany Serrano; second grade, Austin Brown; third grade, Oscar Guevara; fourth grade, Karina Velasquez Martin; and fifth grade, Damaris Lopez Camarillo.
The United Methodist Women of Shiloh and Mt. Lebanon United Methodist churches will hold their annual chili supper and country store fundraiser 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh UMC in Wheel. This U.T. quilt will be given away. There will be many items for sale in the country store, along with fried pies and baked goods. There will be children's games as well. The cost for the chili supper is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 6.
