The Dictionary Project is a service project that Shelbyville Rotary Club conducts annually. Each year all third graders in Bedford County receive a dictionary, in order to promote a better vocabulary.
Benji Burris, Mark Canon and Lizzo Burris, representatives of the Shelbyville Rotary Club, brought dictionaries to give to Southside third graders.
After passing out the dictionaries the students participate in a scavenger hunt to be the first one to find the word "service." Jaxon Neese and his classmates search diligently for the the word. The winner, who ended up being Neese in this class, received a gold dollar coin.
Sophie Miller received the gold dollar coin in her class for being the first to find the word "service" in her new dictionary.
Rotary representative Benji Burris hands a dictionary to Southside third grader Shelby Kowalski.
