World Down Syndrome Awareness Day at Southside Elementary

Southside School showed their support for World Down Syndrome Awareness Day on Thursday by wearing mismatched socks. The socks have become the symbol of the day, representing the extra chromosone which causes Down Syndrome.
Southside student Ryan Richardson was a guest of honor at the celebration.
Lynna Miller, Shayne LeMaster and Shirl Castleman, who work with Ryan Richardson every day at Southside, wore their crazy socks to honor him.
Southside Principal Reita Vaughn celebrated Down Syndrome Awareness Day with Ryan Richardson.
