A fundraiser in Bell Buckle raised $4,200 towards renovating the town's former fire hall to house the Chief James Elkins Museum. See the story at http://www.t-g.com/story/2486895.html.
The Horse Mountain String Band performs near the 1950 Chevrolet fire truck used by the Bell Buckle Fire Department and late chief James Elkins for many years.
Surrounded by accoutrements of Mardi Gras, a colorful sign announces an upcoming chili cookoff fundraiser for the Bell Buckle Fire Department, March 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. The band, Station 7 will provide the music.
Turnouts hang ready for a service call for firefighters.
