Rockin' out at the 'zoo'
Well, it was a trip to the zoo.. at least, in the finds of a few Harris Head Students. Only the animals were missing. Harris Head Start implemented the Zoophonics curriculum this school year, and the program's 68 students celebrated with skits showing their new skills Wednesday. They imitated letters and animals before appreciative parents and siblings. Zoophonics allows students to memorize and learn letters through letter-shaped animal pictures where uppercase letters are taught first followed by lowercase letters, program supervisor Tabitha Byron said. The goal is to ensure students are well-prepared before their transition to kindergarten.
