"Use your imagination," East Side Elementary physical education teacher Valerie Ward said.
Then it became clear. The Dr. Seuss-themed exercises Tuesday made perfect sense.
First graders enjoyed workouts based on the Seuss classics "Green Eggs and Ham," "Cat in the Hat," "The Foot Book" and "There's a Wocket in My Pocket."
Doriane Wyatt and Luis Frias shoot hoops trying to put the "Cat" -- a basketball -- "in the Hat" -- the goal.
Teacher Valerie Ward tells students how to play "Green Eggs and Ham."
Baylee Rowe and Johanna Cardenas toss bean bags.
"This is like baseball!" Hunter Craig said while tossing and catching a bean bag.
Kamilah Serrano puts her best foot forward, aiming a soccer ball toward the goal and illustrating "The Foot Book."
Evelyn Martin picks up a plastic egg -- "Green Eggs and Ham," get it? -- and pedals back to waiting teammates.
As an illustration of "There's a Wocket in My Pocket," first-graders MaKenna Blindt, Shayla Briggs, Luis Frias and Doriane Wyatt attempt to catch bean bags.
