Students from Cascade High School
I just wish each high school student in Bedford
County had the same opportunity in each school.
Central High School and Community High School
have different academic and athletic programs
than we do at Cascade. It just needs to be fair that
we all get the same opportunity for options from our
education to playing sports in each school.
I am a sophomore and if we had more career days
and more people come in and talk to us when we
were freshman it would help us make a decision
earlier on what we wanted to make as a career.
We only have Spanish class at Cascade. I would like to
see more options, many different types of languages
taught in the schools. The world is becoming more
multilingual and I would like to see the high school
students in Bedford County get a chance to learn
I think if the high school students had more international
classes it would help us. Many things are going on
in other parts of the world and if we were exposed
to more things than just in the United States it
would give us better opportunities and
help make good decisions from politics to jobs.
International classes would make us more well
If they school board could get professionals in all types
of work come and talk to us. We are not all interested
in the same thing of course, but if we had people
actually doing the job talk to us and explain what will
need in high school and college to be what we want
to be in the professional world.
I wish we had opportunities to job shadow. I am interested in
the medical field and if we had job shadowing I could
get a better idea of what is out there and what it takes
to be someone in the medical field. But I would like
to see job shadowing in many professional fields. Give
us a chance to see what there is in the real world.
I would like to see the school board offer military science. Not
just the Army R.O.T.C. but all branches of service.
I would like to see some real hands on classes. With
more classes of this type we could try different things
and really find out about what it takes to do the work.
Car repairs, carpentry, computer repair and all those
things in the technology world. If we could get our
hands on it and learn about it from someone who knows
I would like to see more business classes offered especially
in the banking field.
