Imagine that you are the editor at an imaginary newspaper in an imaginary town. What story would you assign to your reporters?
Our town does not have a public pool. The reporter will ask people that live in
the town if they would like the town government to build a pool and if they
would like to have a indoor pool with a water park or build an outdoor pool
with a water park. The reporter will also talk to the people in government to see if a pool could be built in our town.
The public restrooms in our town are unsafe and are not kept clean. Drugs are being sold at the restrooms and some people are living in the restrooms. The
reporter will ask why all of this is happening.
Some kids that play video games do not understand the difference between the games and real life. A new program has been started to help those that play video games to control their anger from playing video games and the reporter write about the program.
We understand that the bleachers at the ball fields and in the gyms are unsafe. Kids are falling through the bleachers and getting hurt, they are in need of repair and need hand rails to make them safer. What is the city going to do to make them safer and more comfortable.
There is a football camp in the summer that works with kids to keep them
out of trouble and teaches them to be good kids and not get arrested or
get into drugs. The reporter will ask why this program seems to work when
other programs do not.
There are people in our county government that seem to be coming up with
crazy ideas to spend money that we do not have and spending it. The reporter
will try to find out why money is being spent on buildings we do not need, cars bought that we do not need; just spending money on things that the county government doesn't need.
One of the teams has a manager that can not play basketball because they
are handicap. The reporter will talk to the manager about how they can still
help the team, even though they are not playing, by being the teams manager.
This is the first year that soccer will be in our town. The reporter will ask
about how they will teach soccer to those that do not know how to play soccer, how many teams and kids are in the league and why the soccer league is being started.
There is a road in our community that has a real problem with people dumping items from trash to large items. People that live on the road have complained to people at city hall but nothing has been done. The reporter will talk to those people that live on the road and people at city hall.
