We asked fifth graders from Thomas Magnet School if elementary school students should be allowed to watch TV on school nights.
I think time should be limited, maybe a little when they first get home from school. But then homework needs to be done first before any more.
It depends. I think it should be limited to 30 minutes to 1 hour, so they will still have an hour or so for homework.
I think they should be able to watch after homework and chores and then not less than 30 minutes before bed.
I think we should, but it should limited and there should be scheduled time for homework, chores, and TV.
I think we should have a home schedule and a school schedule to complete before TV time.
I think kids should have a limited time for TV after homework time; maybe about 30 minutes.
I think kids should have at least 3-4 hours of TV because it is a fair amount of time.
I think kids should have a certain amount of time so they can study hard. Parents should remind them about their homework, if they have it or not. If you don’t have your homework, that would be embarrassing. You should have time to learn and have fun watching shows, but education is important.
I think children should have a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 4 hours. They need time to learn and have fun.
