A motion will be before the council next Thursday to conduct a fireworks display at H.V. Griffin Park on July 4, and will also ask for authority to approach the county to split the costs of any contract they enter into...

Corbin Riley, son of Kacy and Nathan Riley, is not as distressed as he was in the winning "Scared Santa" contest photo when he and Tanna Warren, who submitted the winning photo, picked up the prize of matching chocolate pearl necklace and earrings. Warren, who runs Corbin's daycare, said Corbin is 14-15 months old. The "Scared of Santa" contest was sponsored by the Times-Gazette and Lowery Jewelers.
