If you regularly travel through the intersection at U.S. 231 (North Main Street) and Madison Street, you have likely noticed a spot that feels like you are no longer on a paved road. According to Shelbyville's public works director, the area in question isn't a pothole, but it is causing what officials call a "ripple effect." New motel to break ground (03/20/12)
After a four-year wait, groundbreaking is set to begin for Shelbyville's newest motel. March 29 is the day that shovels will go officially into the ground for Microtel at 1207 N. Main St., next to the Huddle House. According to city building official Scotty Farrar, a building permit was granted for the site Monday after owner Dennis Young and John Robinson of RCO Construction requested permits, saying that the city had all the documentation needed for the project on file...
