A man arrested for allegedly attempting to vandalize a Shelbyville church Thursday admitted to breaking glass on three other occasions, police said. Darrin Amani Thompson was arrested following a foot pursuit which ended on Edgemont Drive, within a block of Edgemont Baptist Church, according to detective Sam Jacobs' report. Micah Jordan Chapman, 21, of another South Cannon Boulevard home, allegedly rammed his vehicle into the victim's front porch, causing "severe damage," then attempted to gain entry by breaking a window with a piece of outdoor furniture before leaving, police said. Two persons suspected in a February burglary were arrested outside a Shelbyville motel early Friday while officers were searching the area for someone who tried to force their way into a nearby Elm Street home. Thanks to vandals, those wanting to use the gym in Wartrace will now have to pay a deposit when they pick up the key. A man was arrested Monday for vandalism inside Shelbyville's Tyson Foods plant that occurred last month while investigators are looking into a bomb threat that was allegedly made over the weekend.
