Drug charges filed after traffic stops

Drug charges were filed against two persons following Friday night traffic stops. Stanley Kyle Dixon, 21, Anthony Lane, was stopped after allegedly weaving into the path of oncoming traffic several times. Drug dog Remy "alerted" on a jacket containing approximately 2.7 grams of "a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana," a "half-smoked blunt" and four Zanax tablets, said Officer Tracey Nelson of the Shelbyville Police Department...

Harris Middle School's Eagles downed Tullahoma 3-1 Saturday. Drew Turner drew first blood for the Eagles late in the first half, scoring on a long kick with some help from Kody Hernandez for a 1-0 lead. Tullahoma scored early in the second half. In what Cascade coach Stephanie Sutton billed as the biggest win in her coaching career, the Lady Champs edged host Huntland 3-2 in a huge District 11A matchup Friday afternoon.
