A thief cheated a Shelbyville jewelry store out of a $5,000 engagement ring Saturday, Sept. 17, according to Shelbyville police, who were notified Friday. The suspect entered Heritage Jewelers, South Side Square, about 3:30 p.m. "A man came into the store, asked for engagement rings to be shown and was boasting to have $10,000 to spend," Officer Fred Harvey said.
